We had an anniversary meal on Friday evening. The booking experience over the phone had been painful - I had to spell everything out about 3 times. However the meal (we both chose venison) was very good. Service was a little slow to begin with - we were upstairs and felt we'd been forgotten. I would ask to sit downstairs next time - there was a better atmosphere down there.

The food was excellent, very good atmosphere and very friendly staff and service. We had the early bird/lunch menu which we felt was very reasonably priced and will be returning for an evening dinner service very soon.

Checked menu, thought it looked OK, and booked online which was dead easy. Well, what a gem! Food was excellent - we had a couple of nibbles to start as we were relatively limited on time but then had mains of the Chicken a la Forestiere - delicious and most beautifully cooked chicken I can remember having - and the Chowder. Wife said this was one of the tastiest dishes she had ever had. Enough said. Service was excellent as well - very welcoming, but unobtrusive at the same time. Will most definitely be back. Thank you!

And they had a great selection of wines and cocktails. I would highly recommend and will definitely be visiting again.

Between the three of us we ordered items from the four sections of the menu (nibbles, starters, main and desserts) and everything was cooked perfectly. We all enjoyed our food and the atmosphere. We will definitely be returning soon.
