Edisford Bridge Hotel – ClitheroeEveryone seems to be talking about the Freemasons at Wiswell these days so we drove out last Friday evening to see what all the fuss was about. Must say it pretty much ticked all the boxes for me in terms of decor, food and wine but don’t go there expecting a gastropub – this is proper high-end restaurant cooking (with the prices to match if you eat from the a la carte or tasting menus). Highly recommended.
Freemasons At Wiswell – ClitheroeNot been yet but MUST go VERY soon! Reading the reviews, it sounds FANTASTIC!Que approveche!
Wellsprings Inn Pendle Hill – ClitheroeFirst visit to la Vespa went with 2 other families to celebrate mothers day. What a treat the food, atmosphere was fantastic! The staff all very attentive and the added bonus of the magician was the icing on the cake.....Amazing! Thank you for a fabulous meal experience.....WE WILL BE BACK:)
La Vespa – ClitheroeWe went for a late lunch today-fabulous! A warm welcome, friendly attentive service, superb food. We had scallops gratin/crevettes with lemon mayo, followed by fish pie/lemon sole, accompanied by Wainwrights ale/house Cardonnay. Wood burning fires keeping us cosy looking out at snow capped Pendle Hill, what a treat, definitely recommended.
Assheton Arms – ClitheroeA fantastic place with delicious food. I loved it! Will be back soon.
Trishna Indian Tandoori Restaurant – ClitheroeFood has improved in the last 6 Months with a new Chef. Chef likes to meet diners when food is presented. Not the best but good enough to try.
Trishna Indian Tandoori Restaurant – ClitheroeAnother good meal at the Three Fishes just prior to Christmas. It’s the original one of Northcote’s now four Ribble Valley pubs and for me it’s still the best by some distance. Always seems to be busy and yet the staff are well-drilled and friendly. The fish pie was lovely – as was the bottle of Chablis we had with it – and the pumpkin soup from the seasonal menu was very moreish.
The Three Fishes – ClitheroeWow, this place gets better and better, the best food around for miles. Historic Lobster Thermidor for a special treat but amazing imaginative food, local produce, varied menus and good wines and beer. All staff well trained and nothing is too much trouble.
Duke of York – ClitheroeReally friendly welcome and the staff are lovely.... Im there tomorrow night for my birthday meal....... really lovely food..... looking forward to my meal tomorrow night....... :)
La Vespa – ClitheroeI was very disappointed with this restaurant. I found it very expensive especially for the amount of food you got. I asked for my main course to take away and when I got home the amount of food, let alone chicken in it was miserable and actually looked like I had eaten half of it.. Will definitely not be returning for a second disappointment.
Trishna Indian Tandoori Restaurant – ClitheroeWe eat out here almost every saturday evening .
Edisford Bridge Hotel – ClitheroeOne of the best Indian dining experiences I've had in a while. Maximum attention is given to making the customer is happy, food service is swift but most of all the quality and taste of the food is worth returning for over and over again. Of course, let's not forget - prices are very fair considering the generous portions and the lengths taken to present the food elegantly. Bravo!
Double Tree Indian Restaurant – ClitheroeHaving been a regular customer for quite a time we were very dissappointed with our a la carte lunch the other day. It appears that the Chef/Proprietor was away and as a result the food both starters and main was undercooked and substandard. Difficult to tell the difference between a partridge starter and a grouse main course as both drowned with dressings and served rare. Will only return if and when chef is on duty.
Freemasons At Wiswell – ClitheroePleasant surroundings, friendly service, excellent wines, but distinctly average food.
Maxwells Cafe Wine Bar – Clitheroewe call in at the Buck regularly on our way to the lake district and it is well worth the visit. THE friendliest pub/restaurant i have ever been to, the food is excellent, quality and quantity! you will never leave this pub disappointed but i would advise you to book, it is VERY popular!
The Buck Country Pub – ClitheroeHad a fabulous time at Maxwells. Nice sunny day so sat on the roof terrace. Two of us shared a bottle of Prosecco and a Mezze sharing plate. Good food, good service and great atmosphere. Just across from the train station too.
Maxwells Cafe Wine Bar – ClitheroeExcellent as always. Pino and his staff never fail to deliver anything but excellent service. The food as always was fantastic!!!
