I have never been to the great land but I is the best restaurant ever because Winston lives there
Great Land Cantonese Restaurant – ClitheroeWe always get fantastic food at the Aspinall, served by Simon and his staff. All the years we have been going there we have never had cause to complain.
Aspinall Arms – Clitheroevery good service and delicious food
La Vespa – ClitheroeJust come home from having another meal at La Vespa. Superb very friendly service. Food never varies always first class. Prices more than reasonable. Wine I like a glass of wine but some restaurants charge exorbitant prices but La Vespa do a 250 glass for £3.50. I will keep going to this lovely venue Keith and Jan
La Vespa – ClitheroeWhat a fantastic place - it 's got everything. excellent food, superb hosts and great atmosphere . A great party venue.
Tiger Lounge – ClitheroeFirst visit for quite a while and happy to say I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. I’m a big fan of venues that support local suppliers and it’s probably fair to say that this place -- and its sister venues, which include Northcote Manor – set the standard to which others aspire. Still seems to be as popular as ever and my only criticism would be that in peak times the staff seem to get stretched to the limit
The Three Fishes – Clitheroei was really disappointed with my meal at le vespa i had the seafood spaghetti i asked what was in it before i ordered it i was told white fish salmon prawns and mussels in a creamy wine and tomato sauce when it came there was no sauce and it only had very small prawns and mussels which was disappointing. no one came and asked how our meal was and when we asked for the bill we paid and left it was as if the staff weren't interested in our custom.
La Vespa – ClitheroeFirst visit for hubby’s birthday, found 3 fishes on internet, he loved his meal. I had the cheese pie ( being a veggie) very nice but the cheese was a bit too salty for my liking shame, but would go again and would recommend.
The Three Fishes – ClitheroeMy wife and i visited la Vespa on Sunday the 7th of august 2011, the food was excellent and the service was excellent too, i'd go as far as saying the waiters and staff could almost read your mind, they new just what to do and when, £62.50 bought us two very substantial starters with extra starters like garlic bread with cheese and olives and feta in a bowl, my wife had sirloin steak in a cream mushroom type sauce, and mine was the fillet steak with an olive, anchovy, tomato, capers type sauce with roast pots carrots and mange tout served separately X2,and then to finish off was profiteroles and ice cream and a cheesecake with brulee top plus 2 diet cakes and 2 normal cokes, all this food was of the highest quality and the staff were great from start to finish, service with a smile for less than £65.
La Vespa – ClitheroeGreat food and friendly service. Donato regularly comes out of the kitchen to speak with diners, which is a great opportunity for feedback. Prices are reasonable, and there are always some interesting specials to choose from.
La Vespa – ClitheroeVisited a few times. Choice for vegetarians. Excellent service, friendly staff and good food, local produce; not 'warmed up in a microwave oven'. Serves delicious puddings a and afternoon teas. Suggest you book first. Paul (Charnock Richard)
Breda Murphy Restaurant – ClitheroeJust enjoyed an excellent lunch of a seafood Pizza followed by a Gooseberry Mousse. Great place and quality friendly service.
Tiger Lounge – ClitheroeI am usually loathe to leave reviews of a place, especially if its not been a pleasant experience - I usually vote with my wallet and not return. However, I feel I should leave my comments. This place is vastly overpriced, has really sub standard service and the food produce isn't really that fresh, and certainly not what you would expect from an above the rest establishment, or one that pertains to be. The 'artisan' feel and approach is simply not transferred into the food served on the plate. It was cold, unappetising and I've actually had better quality in a local Crown carvery pub at about a third of the cost. Staff just aren't attentive, you always feel as though you are causing trouble to ask for anything as they huff and puff away and look so bored and uninterested, its as though they don't actually want you sat there. I had to ask four times for my table to be cleaned and for cutlery to be set out. You almost need a second mortgage for the drinks - how the high prices can be justified is beyond me. The place also stank of revolting cow-pat in the restaurant, probably due to the mucky, half dead looking cows in the barn attached to the kitchens and cafe area. I saw kitchen staff going in and out of a side door into the kitchen area, trudging mud and cow muck inside. When I saw that, I knew I would never return to Bashall Barn to eat. All in all, despite its pretensions, a truly miserable experience.
Bashall Barn – Clitheroehighly recommended!! chicken livers to die for! actually can never decide what to have because its all so good! top waiters and great prices
La Vespa – ClitheroeI went here for dinner with my partner on Monday. When we arrived we were seated promptly & asked if we would like any drinks, after about 15 minutes the waitress came over and took our order. I opted for the risotto with garlic and parsley to start, followed by the steak with wild mushrooms & Chips for my main. First impressions of the food were rather good the starter was slightly bland (however my partner really liked it, so I put this down to my personal taste. The main course was really good & there was just the right amount served . For dessert I had the Rhubarb crumble with vanilla ice cream, this was by far the best part of the entire meal It’s not the easiest place to find, however once you get there its worth it
Freemasons At Wiswell – ClitheroeWe took a trip out to the Freemasons Arms in Wiswell from St.Annes. What a beautiful place with great food. Quite like to back for the cooking courses they run. Only complaint we had nowhere to park but would definitely return.
Freemasons At Wiswell – ClitheroeWe are regular visitors to Amico Mio, its a lovely intimate restaurant always with a buzzing atmosphere. Thursday nights there is live music from a pianist. You always get a warm welcome and the food and service are always excellent. Its always busy so booking is advisable even during the week, which is a good sign. Well worth a visit. We will be returning very soon.
Amico Mio – Clitheroehad a great Sunday lunch with my old queen. The potted duck and Cumberland sauce was great although it maybe needed a touch more salt. The other side of the table got all sticky with the ginger sticky chicken wings. Main courses of Roast loin of pork was the ultimate. 2 good slices of pork loin still tender and juicy with crackling that was supremely crispy. the portobello mushroom burger was good but the tomato sauce has the weirdest taste, maybe some work needs doing there. The jelly was more like a wine gum consistency which was a shame and lacked flavour although the whipped custard quenelle was beauty. I could of eaten a whole jar of that. After saying all that the service was impeccable and the new spring menu will be arriving on Friday the 15th April. we will be booking for Easter. Yes that's correct you will need to book. I love this place, i have a soft spot for it. Keep up the good work.
