The Emporium – ClitheroeThe menu is small and doesn't offer a single vegetarian dish. The waiter said he would speak to the chef and took off and only returned to serve food at other tables, avoiding ours. I ended up ordering just a starter (the only veg dish!). Both our meals were just about average. We would definitely not go back.
Swan Hotel – ClitheroeWent for a wonderful winter walk that started and finished at this excellent country pub. After 6 miles we were really ready for our sunday roast and were not disappointed. Great wine from Byrnes and we loved the decor and atmosphere. Next time we will stay!
Waddington Arms – ClitheroeA truly wonderful country Inn. Definitely one of Englands finest! An inpromptu stay as our car was stuck on an icy road nearby. What a place to be stuck! I love the intact Georgian feel the place has, the wonderful curios and its attention to detail. A must stay venue!
Inn at Whitewell – ClitheroeThis is the best venue for service , food, bar stock and atmosphere, very child friendly and perfect for a romantic meal or family party or wedding. The value for money is amazing, and second to none for service. Merry Christmas Zack and Catherine.

Great Land Cantonese Restaurant – ClitheroeThere is always a very warm welcome at The Villa. Piano and his staff provide an excellent service. The food is the best quality and cooked to perfection. I always recommend this restaurant to anyone wishing to eat out in Clitheroe in comfort.
Tiger Lounge – ClitheroeReally friendly staff here at the Castle Chippy and a good range on the menu. The chips are the best I have ever had. Try the chips with one of their flavours - I had mine with sweet chili sauce - delicious. They also do batter for gluten-free diet. Well worth a visit.
Castle Chippy – ClitheroeBest fish and chips I've had in many a year!!! The batter on the fish is lovely light and tasty. My wife loved the mushy peas. Very friendly staff. I would definitely recommend a visit to the Castle Chippy if you are in the area, I will certainly be there again.
Castle Chippy – ClitheroeReally friendly staff and a great menu with lots of interesting items. The chips are the best I've ever had. Worth trying them with a flavour on - I had sweet chilli - really tasty. I know they do fish in different ways too, you can even get gluten free batter. Make sure you visit!
Castle Chippy – ClitheroeWe have visited the eagle at barrow about 6 months ago and we were very pleased with all aspects of the brasserie and pub style services provided, however we visited again today and unfortunately the service has slipped somewhat. We had to go get our own menu, we were not told of any specials available, we were not told what the soup was ( some people may think that this is not too bad) however it took them 35 minutes to take our order, after getting our own menus. We ordered, steak burger. Which came with Chat potatoes (fried cubes to you and me)? Way under cooked onion rings. V greasy. No side salad. Burger on a bun. I may just be being picky, but I was not asked how I would like my burger cooked...luckily I like mine medium, but others who ordered around us did not, after all it is a steak burger. A few people at a table were swapping theirs round to the ones best suited to them. I would have liked just a tiny few leaves to go with my burger. My husband, ordered Ploughmans salad....he had to go and get his own bread.... when it arrived. It was like a small petit pan baguette, not nearly enough to cope with a full ploughmans lunch. After lunch...which was quite tasty after all the too-ing and fro-ing. I had to ask for menus again to look at dessert. We weren’t offered them. After choosing what I wanted.....20 mins later, we decided to leave. I couldn't wait any longer again to be served. I left with my sweet tooth unsatisfied.... We have had very good service in the past...I think the area we sat in...generally was untended to. I think if you sat in the centre of the pub, or by the window. Service would have been very good. There was hardly any light...I struggled to see the menu. I had read a review about this before where a lady felt obliged to request a miners helmet...she was not mistaken. I feel like the eagle deserves a 3rd chance from us, so we will re visit, however I hope a manager is reading this and taking note of the things I have mentioned. After all, my money stayed in my pocket today, but potentially could have been in theirs. There were two hungry customers who wanted to have dessert and plenty more drinks but sadly we left after lunch and one drink. Just remember first impressions count...its all about continued custom, it the next sale you need to think of, not the one that you have already got.
The Eagle at Barrow – ClitheroeCame across this place on my way back to Scotland, an outstanding piece of cod with a lovely fresh crispy batter. Massive portion of chips.
Castle Chippy – ClitheroeWe travel here from Blackpool, because it is just amazing.we have never been to a nicer, cheaper italian.food is lovely, drinks are a bit more expensive but the cheap food and generous portions make up for that.Love this place and we just keep coming back!
Amico Mio – ClitheroeWent for Sunday Lunch, found the food wonderful and the service excellent. The beer was good as well! Place was in need of a lick of paint, but it is about to undergo a refurb. Highly recommended.
Parkers Arms – ClitheroeWe ate there for the first time yesterday (7th Oct). We had talked about trying it because of its excellent reputation and we were not disappointed. We managed a good value 3-course meal in very good surroundings and close enough to home to encourage a repeat visit. We both enjoyed als which were different to "standard" Italian restaurant fare.
La Locanda Ristorante Italiano – ClitheroeWe tried the October menu a couple of evenings ago - our second visit to La Locanda - and it was excellent, again. My starter was the smoked wild trout with a pumpkin tart - brilliant. The atmosphere is welcoming and not a bit stuffy, the service is exceptional and it also offers really good value. Can't wait to go back.
