The Red Pump Inn – ClitheroeWe originally found Amico Mio on Sugarvine.com and have visited many times now, but most recently went on Friday night, and as always was very busy, with the usual romantic atmosphere, a guitarist playing in the background and the staff very attentive, and also had a chilled bottle of Rose waiting at my table on arrival made this a special birthday for my wife. The food doesn’t really need a mention as it was as spectacular as ever, this is far from your usual “authentic” Italian restaurant. If you’re looking for a nice calming romantic meal or a lively fun evening with family and friends then Amico Mio is the place for you. Keep up the good work.........Brillante, Bravo
Amico Mio – ClitheroeToday is my first time out to CLITHEROE with my family on a DAY TRIP tour to the Dales and we had a meal at the CALF`S HEAD. I have to say the wide range of menus and the generous portion of food was very good. The food was fresh and the presentation was good. The staffs were friendly and helpful and they worked their socks off. I would highly recommend this pub to my friends . Keep up with the good standard
Calfs Head – ClitheroeWonderful atmosphere, fantastic service, friendly staff, absolutely out of this world food. Would highly recommend. Only thing that lets it down, are the toilets. Well the ladies anyway, I haven't been in the mens :) They are grotty and tired. But that is nothing to do with the food and service. Second to none.
Wellsprings Inn Pendle Hill – ClitheroeDid a walk that started and finished at this pub. We popped in for a great pint afterwards. Will definitely return to this beautiful spot for a meal.
Assheton Arms – ClitheroeI have visited the Freemasons at Wiswell on several occasions with my partner and children. Each time the service has been great, and the food is fantastic - especially their mini sweet selection! Top quality food with a really great atmosphere. Much recommended.
Freemasons At Wiswell – ClitheroeAbsolutely wonderful! The pappa al pomodoro was INCREDIBLE.... Warm and cozy authentic, hearty Italian!
La Locanda Ristorante Italiano – ClitheroeOn a one night stopover in the area my husband and I visited Benedict's, for a light meal. Can't praise it highly enough. We were spoilt for choice with light meals, (chef's Pate-Delicious.) Mains and Deserts. Food was 1st class and presentation beautiful, bottle of wine with meal was exceptional value and the coffee delicious. The ambience, food, art work all made for an enjoyable experience, we'll definitely visit again.
Benedicts of Whalley – ClitheroeStayed 3 weeks ago on a Sunday and had brilliant 2 days. Great place - lovely food and lovely bloke who owns it. Hotel room - dinner and full breakfast in lovely place for £25 - fantastic. Castle and park 2 mins walk away. Whalley Abbey 10 mins in car.
The Old Post House Hotel and Restaurant – ClitheroeHighly recommend La laconda went there for the first time 4/10/10 it was the best Italian we have ever had!!!!!!!!! we have bought a lodge near by so we will be regulars.
La Locanda Ristorante Italiano – ClitheroeThis delightful deli bar has a nice ambiance, we stopped for a coffee and cake. My wife chose a Rocky Road to die for. There's lots to admire inside with art on the walls and gorgeous food items to take away. It's licensed too!
Benedicts of Whalley – ClitheroeSpent a fab night at the Spread last week. Cosy bar with real ale, the nicest restaurant I have been in, food was fabulous, the room was lovely, the setting was lovely,a guy played acoustic guitar and sang while we finished off a great bottle of wine, I was in heaven. Sawley Abbey 3 minutes walk away.
Spread Eagle – ClitheroeThis has got to be the best by far! I am coeliac and have never been treated or greeted so well in a restaurant since I was diagnosed 5 years ago. The food was excellent as was the choice. A very friendly, helpful and value for money meal. We enjoyed the ambience and the atmosphere. What a pleasant surprise we shall certainly be returning soon and I plan to organise a trip over bringing with me folks from the Manchester group of the coeliac society. Thanks Rachael and to all your staff too we had a perfect evening.
The Buck Country Pub – ClitheroeDear Buck Inn, we would just like to thank you for a lovely meal again ,we came today without booking and you kindly fit us in.We are never disappointed when we come to your place. Thanks again the metcalfe family.
The Buck Country Pub – ClitheroeMy wife and I had an excellent meal in the Duke of York a couple of weeks ago. The menu was interesting and imaginative and the food was cooked to perfection, with outstanding flavours and quality. The wine list complimented the menu perfectly with a good range to suit all tastes and pockets. It is well worth a visit and one of the best places to eat in the Ribble Valley.
Duke of York – ClitheroeNew Deli Cafe Bar at No1 George street in Whalley. The perfect place to buy your fresh bread and deli products followed by a fabulous italian coffee. Little Italy comes to Little Whalley. You can dine in or take the deli products away. worth seeing
Benedicts of Whalley – ClitheroeMe and my husband return to this restaurant again and again as you really feel at home and always feel welcomed by the staff there. The food is excellent and is good value for money as the portions are big. Would always recommend this restaurant to anyone. The restaurants ambience and surroundings really make you feel as if you are on holiday!!!!!!
Amico Mio – ClitheroeI dined here with my husband recently for a late (liquid!) lunch and absolutely loved it. The staff were very attentive and the food amazing. For two courses and a couple of rounds of drinks it came to a reasonable £39. I had great expectations as it is owned by the same people who have Mitton Hall and Emporium. The decor inside was lovely, eclectic but still traditional with a large beer garden to the rear. Will definitely be visiting again.
