Lemon Twist – FalmouthVery disappointing starting with the menu of pizzas, chips & burgers. The “modern seafood “ dishes turned out to be fish & chips or scampi & chips!! The Aberdeen Angus lasagne was awful with slimy pasta & very little meat sauce. If there was any bechamel sauce in it I never found it. The scampi & chips was adequate. The service was good as was the wine. Wouldn’t go there again.
The Lookout Bar and Eatery – NewquayOverpriced and poor quality. Atmosphere was fine but having booked for lunch to be told once we had been sat for a while waiting for someone to take our order that they didn’t have half the menu available and then what arrived wasn’t the quality described. Dirty glass just added to the impression. Disappointing
The Lookout Bar and Eatery – NewquayThis is our second time eating here in the last month. The first time was a fabulous Sunday lunch. We had tiger prawns, padrona peppers, the tex mex skewer, and a crab cake. The food was great, good value and the service was very good too. We will be back.
Molesworth Arms – WadebridgeFriday night meal with friends One of the best meals we have had. The sea bass was fantastic would highly recommend. Everything we ordered was presented and tasted superb. The service was excellent.
Molesworth Arms – WadebridgeSorry but was just ok. Burger over cooked making hard to chew and the food wasn’t red hot. Didn’t complain as listened to a fellow diner complaining about over cooked gammon and mouldy garlic bread and they were told there was no manager available and the comments would be passed on!!! I wouldn’t have paid that bill and so as mine was edible I paid and left. Honestly won’t eat here again.
The Lookout Bar and Eatery – NewquayWe’ve ordered a takeaway twice since staying here at Retallack and the food really isn’t as good as we thought it would be. We ordered fish and chips and although the chips were nice, the fish was dry and the batter was soggy. Another night we ordered the burger and this tasted like a frozen burger, definitely not fresh. Staff were friendly :)
The Lookout Bar and Eatery – NewquayAmazing food and fabulous service - had the seafood and steak mixed platter for 2 which was delicious and excellent value for money.
Molesworth Arms – WadebridgeGreat food and atmosphere. Friendly welcoming staff offering great service. Wide selection of food and drink catering for all tastes. Good value for money.
Molesworth Arms – WadebridgeFelt sorry for the two staff on the night (June 2021) as they clearly needed more assistance. Wish we’d read the reviews on here as it seems to be a common theme!! We waited over an hour for our food, only having ordered mains. They didn’t even come to offer us more drinks, so it wasn’t even like they were trying to milk it, just too busy, and too few staff. We received no apology for the wait or notice that it was going to be slow. The food was decent though, so I’d suggest anyone who wants to visit discusses service times/expectations on booking.
The Lookout Bar and Eatery – NewquayFoood really wasn’t up to the standards that we would expect, we came years ago and the food was much better. The restaurant decor is very nice but we waited a long time for our food and our childs meal was forgotten. We would not recommend and won’t be returning for food.
The Lookout Bar and Eatery – NewquayLovely meal in this great pub, fantastic selection of drinks and very attentive friendly staff especially our waitress Maia. We will be back during our week in Wadebridge.
Molesworth Arms – WadebridgeWe were warned that there would be a long wait for food but a lovely waiter who was doing his absolute best under what were obviously very difficult conditions. However options on the menu were severely reduced with 4 of the main dishes unavailable. The management need to address this problem.
The Lookout Bar and Eatery – NewquayHad Lunch here today it was so busy but they managed too squeeze us in the staff are so friendly and welcoming food good value for money although they got my meal wrong they changed it immediately would recommend
The Cornish Arms – PadstowGreat food & good atmosphere
Molesworth Arms – WadebridgeFantastic food, amazing service. Really friendly staff and a great atmosphere! Would definitely recommend a visit :)
Molesworth Arms – WadebridgeCannot comment on the food as we left 45 minutes after our table reservation. Only 2 waiting staff running the entire busy half term restaurant and bar, waited 30 mins to be greeted to be sat down at our prebooked table (only because we grabbed one of the harassed staff, otherwise I imagine we would still be waiting). Then waited another 10 mins for drinks and to be given a cut down version of the menu which didn’t have one of the 3 options because they are short staffed. Realising we were already about 4th in line of other big tables and by now nearly an hour after booked table we gave up and left. Felt very sorry for the 2 staff who had turned up and were running around like headless chickens and were apologetic but really not good enough for a 5 star resort in middle of May half term. Had similar slow service earlier in the week to get a drink. Our first meal out as a couple in 9 months, so disappointing. Management really need to sort it out and support their waiting staff who no doubt copped it, not a manger in site.
The Lookout Bar and Eatery – NewquayWaited 20 mins to be seated for a reserved table, waited an hour and a half for starters. Short staffed and senior management no where to be seen. Really felt for the 3 staff who were running around trying their best, they should never have been put in that situation. Main meals came out and the chicken was dry so we didn’t eat in the end with two hungry kids in tow. Supposedly 5 star but more akin to fawlty towers, quite simply one of the worst meals I’ve had ( or not had) in the uk
