Savoy Restaurant and Bar – PenzanceFor high quality home produced food and desserts to die for then this is THE place to dine. The meals are large, superbly presented, very pleasant staff. This one restaurant you would not wish to miss and it has a fabulous farm shop. This is the real business.
Trevaskis Farm Restaurant – HayleIf you have a sweet tooth you'll LOVE the Yellow Canary! They have delicious cakes and pastries that go down very well with a pot of tea or cup of coffee! The only thing that let it down for me was one of the male servers had very long straggly hair and was unshaven - this made him appear unkempt - not good where food is being serves.
Yellow Canary, The – St IvesWe visited On Shore for breakfast and it was absolutely delicious and the presentation was like something out of Masterchef!! However, one of the waiitresses was being given the runaround by some Irish ladies and she started to criticise them in front of us and other customers - not good I'm afraid :o(
Onshore Restaurant – St IvesWe always go to The Mex every time we visit St Ives and it NEVER disappoints! Nuff said!!
Mex The – St IvesWe absolutely love the Rajpoot! Their food is excellent and the service is excellent too. I had a delicious chicken korma and a prawn puree - yum, yum!!
Rajpoot – St IvesWe have been regular visitors of this establishment for many years. We visited in June 2011 and were disappointed that they had taken Eggs Benedict off the menu - this was by far THE best EB we had ever had - so a little disappointed! On the morning we arrived the chap serving was on his own apart from the kitchen staff. He did a sterling job, and anyway, who cares about having to wait a bit if you're told about it and are kept informed? Also, the view over the harbour from the restaurant compensated! HOWEVER, we visited again on a second occasion, and found the atmosphere to be considerably different to that on our first visit. There was an Asian lady who was simply barking orders at everyone and running round like a Tazmanian Devil! Although we weren't being rushed, we felt as though we should be!! Would I go back again - yes, I would - the food is very good.
Renaissance Cafe The – PenzanceMe and my husband visited this Inn on Monday 27th June 2011. We had a very warm welcome. I had THE most moist chocolate brownie I have EVER had. Home made and WOW it showed! I had a perfect pot of Early Grey tea and sat outside in the garden overlooking the spectacular view that is St Michael's Mount. I would recommend anyone to stop here for a bite to eat. I will most certainly return on my next visit to Cornwall!
Godolphin Arms – MarazionThis is a lovely Olde Worlde restaurant! The interior hasn't change for decades! It is very atmospheric. The service is very good, and is sometimes OTT!! But then again, I'd rather have OTT to apathy anytime! I had a delicious portion of home made pate to start with and sole with a crab and prawn cream sauce. The only downside was that I ordered the sticky toffee pudding and found it to be a pre-prepared cheap pudding that I'd had previously in a local greasy spoon - but that was the only disappointment!
Hobblers – St IvesThis is one of the best fish and chip shops (with a restaurant attached) in Cornwall! The staff are very attentive, the portions are huge and if you eat in the restaurant their desserts are to die for!
Becks Fish and Chips – St IvesFantastic reception on arrival, the freshly pressed apple juice was sublime, looked like a cocktail at breakfast time! The prices are higher than a street cafe but the view, service and ambiance are worth every penny, Really cool place to hang out
Blue Tomato Cafe – WadebridgeMay 2011...This was the first time back in Polzeath after 27 years.... not changed that much at all.... except for an Indian Restaurant !! Perched high on Tristram Cliff overlooking Polzeath Bay, we set out on our first day to find it. A few steps up Dunders Hill and to the right reveals a small coastal path which takes you direct to Cafe India. We were greeted by Adie, a very chatty guy and great host who didn't mind us just calling in for a pint of Cobra. Cafe India is a Restaurant, Bar and Takeaway, so you have to remember you can just nip in for a beer, albeit a dear one at £4.00 a pint of Cobra, but the views are magnificent and magical (the local pubs were not much cheaper). Three pints later we decided to book a table for the following Tuesday. After arriving we had a couple of Cobras before we ordered, the wife had Prawn Puri and I had Balti Tandoori Grill which is grilled chicken, lamb and sheek kebab served coated with a light balti sauce... delicious !!! My wife had Ayre Jalfrezi (fish dish) and I had Duck Naga... portions were very hearty... keema rice with a keema naan bread and a bottle of house wine £66.00. This restaurant has only opened this year and deserves to succeed... here's our best to Adie and his team !!! See you next year !!!
Cafe India – WadebridgeOne word - "Excellent". The menu suits all members of the family and I have to say that the portions are a good size and well presented. We only waited about 15 mins and there were 9 of us dining. They have done a superb job in totally renovating this Restaurant. Can't find a single fault and would thoroughly recommend! Porthilly Mussels best I've ever had anywhere.
Rock Inn – WadebridgeMy friends and I on holiday in St.Ives called at the Seafood restaurant for lunch. It was very tempting to go in. Interior and the menu drew us in. We were not disappointed. We had crab brecon which was delicious. The wine was also good without being too expensive. The staff were, great, friendly and helpful
Seafood Cafe The – St IvesReally enjoyed our meal here. The food was full of flavour and really nicely cooked, the staff friendly and the set menu offered great value. Will return soon.
Black Rock Restaurant – St IvesLauncestons holds a Fish and Chip Quality Award from the National Federation of Fish Friers. It is one of only a handful of shops around the country to have this award. You can be confident of the quality of the product and the service at this shop
Launceston Fryers Fish and Pizza Bar – Launcestonwell, what can i say about The Queens Hotel.. i went there last week for an evening meal with my family and found the newly refurbished hotel to great taste. The menu was excellently written with superb choices. The staff were extremely helpful with every request we had, and were very pleasant towards the children. When the food arrived, it was exactly as the menu had described, nothing pretentious, just good, honest food, and all at an excellent price. We will be back very shortly. Excellent
Queens Hotel – St IvesWe tried the recently re-launched Queens this Sunday after hearing about the new chef and menu. The roast pork was flavoursome and cooked perfectly, the veg were also interesting and the puds were delicious. We will go again to try the normal menu soon.
