Blas Burgerworks – St IvesAs always the BABA delivers fantastic service and beautiful food. the staff are brilliant and attentive. A brilliant restaurant for a special meal.
Baba Indian Restaurant – Trurovisited ASK this week. Service was generally good. Need to be more observant with drinks etc... and waitress dress code (or lack of!) needs seriously reviewing!!! Starter was fantastic (mixed mezze platter)... Pasta was okay... didn't have time for pudding unfortunately. A good stop for a quick pasta with friends.
ASK – Truroshocked to be the first reviewing this pub. I first visited on a cold winter lunch time and was thrilled to walk into a huge open log fire. We had PROPER sausage and mash and it was fantastic. We have visited various times since and always had fantastic food. prices are fair given the quality and even better if you find one of the vouchers they regularly print in the local papers!!! well worth a visit. sat right on the lake , beautiful views. Lovely for a walk after your meal.
The Golden Lion Inn and Lakeside Restaurant – Redruthgreat pub for a quick bite. reasonably priced and consistent quality.
County Arms – TruroWe had the great pleasure of discovering this cosy contemporary eatery when we stayed in Marazion. The staff are very welcoming and the service is excellent. The meals were exquisitely presented and absolutely delicious.
Ben’s Cornish Kitchen – MarazionThis cosy welcoming cafe has a wonderful atmosphere. delicious food and great service.
Mackerel Sky Cafe Bar – PenzanceOn entering this restaurant it appeared pleasent and relaxed. We had to wait at the bar for our table but to our surprise were not offered a drink. When we were seated there was confusion over the table despite the restaurant having many empty tables and few dining. We ordered wine and later ordered a main course plus garlic bread to nibble first as we did not order a starter. Our wine came, then the garlic bread, which was just that,! We drank wine and nibbled the bread. after an hour we were told our meal is on its way...after another ten minutes waiting we decided to leave, On leaving we were again told our meal was on its way but by that time it was far too late.....we dutifully paid for our wine, which in retrospect should have been offered on the house, and left. This was now 9:15pm and we were famished. We have heard of slow cooking but this was ridiculous. We had no apology and they certainly took the money for the wine, which by the way we had not finished . The whole experience was very unprofessional and totally unacceptable. Be Warned! This restaurant has much to learn.
The Loft Restaurant and Terrace – St IvesBrilliant brilliant restaurant - just how seafood should be eaten. Fantastic food and superb atmosphere. I can't recommend it enough

Ben’s Cornish Kitchen – MarazionAn exciting menu, excellent food, amazing presentation. Hoping to come back again next week.
Paul Ainsworth at No 6 – PadstowHaving come off the beach we wanted something to eat before setting off back to our holiday cottage in Fowey. Having walked around Looe, we settled on the Golden Guinea as they had a couple of 'early bird' specials. As soon as we walked in I was having second thoughts,a very drab interior and a strange whispering atmosphere. Never mind, this has happened before and we've gone on to have a fabulous meal. Sadly on this occasion this was not the case. I had possibly the worst fish and chips I've ever eaten ( or tried to ) Nothing was wrong as such, at least not enough to send it back to the kitchen, but everything on the plate, and even the cheap sachet of tarta sauce was very poor quality. Even my pint of Bitter was terrible. One to avoid at all costs
Golden Guinea The – Looei will not buy chips from here again. i have never seen so much grease on chips before. the next day when i went to the toilet to empty my bowels even my stools (poop) were greasy. sort it out Walkers. regards Kathy Dew (MRS)
Walkers – PadstowNansloe Manor ruined our wedding night. We discovered Nansloe Manor while on a trip to Cornwall to plan our wedding in September last year. We made our booking for our wedding night after taking a look round, which included paying a £100 deposit. We received a letter from the hotel, confirming our reservation and stating that we had entered in to a contract with Nansloe Manor and that should we not arrive, we would be charged the full amount. When we arrived at Nansloe Manor at around 1:30am after our wedding, we found the place eerily dark. The taxi driver dutifully went out in search of the doorbell for the night porter, but there was none to be found. Two separate directory enquiries returned the wrong number, and the taxi driver's friends and associates also did not have the number. I eventually managed to locate the correct number using my iPhone, but the phone rang out. I rang again in the hope that it would spur someone to answer, and a sleepy voice picked up the call and sounded surprised that we had a booking. He asked for the name of our booking and then said that he'd be there in five minutes. Some time later, a car pulled up and a young man in his early twenties trudged out and proceeded to unlock the door while the taxi driver unloaded the car and my wife waited inside it. I pulled the chap aside and pointed to my wife (still in her wedding dress) and expressed my concern at the rather poor show given that it was the most important day of our lives. I asked where the manager was. The YTS reject replied that he /was/ the manager. I knew this was going to be tough, so I told him that I had no desire to argue now and would take it up with him in the morning. We were led up to our room which was pretty cold. I asked if the heating could be switched on, but the manager said that the system had gone off so that he'd have to bring us a portable heater. We retired for the night. In the morning, the manager had left an envelope on the breakfast table for us, claiming that it was a small gesture for our trouble. He was right. It was a small gesture. Inside was a £50 voucher. After breakfast, my wife went upstairs and I asked one of the staff to bring the manager. I slid the envelope across the desk and told him that this "gesture" didn't cut it because we weren't coming back. In fact, we weren't going to spend another night in this place. He gave me a teenageresque shrug and said that he might as well credit it against the balance we had to pay. He said that they did wait for a short while the previous night and then went home because he thought we weren't coming. I told him that we had already paid a deposit, so that should have tempted him a little bit, not least because we weren't advised of a curfew. I then asked him if he was married, to which he replied that he wasn't. He went on to say that it didn't say on their computer system that it was our wedding night, which was pretty stunning considering we had not only stated this when we booked and paid the deposit, but no less than a week ago when we asked if they would be able to arrange transport from the wedding venue to the hotel (which will come as no surprise that they were unable, unwilling and no doubt completely incapable of doing). We were advised by the manager that there was no way of escalating our complaint and that any correspondence we sent would end up at the hotel anyway, effectively indicating that our complaints would never be heard. If you want a great place to spend your wedding night or indeed any other night when you feel like some quality service, avoid this place. It's exceptionally expensive and isn't worth it. The owners and clearly the management don't care even if they are ruining your wedding night. Don't give them your money, they don't deserve it.
Nansloe Manor – HelstonWe had an awesome meal last Saturday evening - everything superb - flavours, presentation, service - probably the best meal I've ever had! Will definitely revisit.
Paul Ainsworth at No 6 – PadstowWe has a fantastic meal in April, brilliant service, flavours to die for and the medley pudding option has to be the best we've ever tasted. The meal was excellent value for money. It is a bit tight for space....but if that is the price to pay for getting a table, it's worth it.
