over priced and menu was minimal in choice in my opinion ( eg some steaks are £20 and veg and chips etc are extra on top of that) ...a real shame as has always been a favourite of mine in the past! Not anymore!

Bakehouse Restaurant – PenzanceFriendly Italian restaurant in the heart of Padstow. We are a complicated bunch of 8 plus dog and including a vegan and 3 vegetarians. Sitting outside after cycling the camel-trail (so we were a bit mud splattered!) was no problem at all - we did pre-book because it can get quite busy. Plenty of choice and very popular with our kids was a decent Margherita Pizza and the vegan was very happy with spaghetti arrabiatta. One of our party loved his seafood pasta and I had a lovely, uncomplicated greek salad with a deliciously fresh feta cheese - I also treated myself to a bowl of fries which were skinny, crispy and gorgeous - needless to say I had to share them with other keen family members who didn't order any for themselves. This is one of our regular holiday activities and we have no reason to change the habit of the last 10 years - highly recommended.
Rojano’s in the Square – PadstowMy wife and I went to Papa Nino with high expectations. What a disaster! My wife ordered a retro avacado and "fresh" prawn. When it eventually arrived my wife and I tasted it and the prawn was frozen. She also found the avacado was rotten! yes rotten, not overripe but unmistakably rotten. She was upset that they would mistake this for good avacado and would serve this to anyone. I complained and was told that there wouldn't be a charge for the avacado. My wife then had "fresh" squid which was definitely frozen. I had spaghetti Carbonara which tasted greasy and vile, worse than what you would get from the frozen food counter at you local low cost supermarket. We ate almost nothing of the dinner and yet they didn't make an attempt to ask us why the food was uneaten and proceeded to charge us for it even though we we leaving without really touching it. My wife was ill and I felt quite queasy afterwards. In short don't go to this restaurant there are several much better ones just down the road
Papa Nino – LooeI have eaten in alot of places but this place is among the best. The greeting was second to none in the bar i had one of the best mojitos even better than abroad. The food was first class the service brilliant. I cant wait to return in September.
Firehouse Bar and Grill – St IvesWe enjoyed a good value Sunday lunch and so booked a table for Wednesday at 7:30 as it was"seafood and fish night". The restaurant was heaving, all tables taken and there was a queue for the take-away. Good choice of menu for both visits and, for a small restaurant, a lengthy wine list. Madam enjoyed her half lobster so much that she asked if she could have another to take away for the next day! In all excellent food, excellent service from the two person team and excellent ambiance. If this is an example of an organic restaurant let's have more of them.
Greenhouse Organic Restaurant – The LizardThe food was fantastic and the staff were lovely and very welcoming. It was my first time there but will definitely go there soon. again.
Kathmandu Palace – TruroBest restaurant in truro.serving lovely food(curry).fantastic service and atmosphere.we had really good time at kathmandu.we will back again.thanks all staff......
Kathmandu Palace – TruroWe had a great meal at the Dolphin while visiting thanks to a recommendation from this site. The fish and chips are truly the best in the area and I am told you can get it every night, including Sunday. The rest of the menu is very good, and good value too. Well worth a visit.
The Dolphin Inn – TruroA very tasty selections of tapas and the main courses were excellent. The vegetarian was wholesome and perfectly spiced. A good friendly atmosphere in the evening. The dip / sauce with the fish skewer was superb.
Alvorada Portugese Restaurant – MevagisseyMy friend and I recently had lunch at the Blue Tomato in Port Isaac and were totally disappointed with it. To start with the tonic in our G&Ts was flat, then we had to put up with three children screaming and running through the restaurant while we were trying to talk and enjoy our meals. They even knocked over one of the chairs at our table. The waitress seemed to be oblivious to this disturbance and that how that would deter prospective customers who were perusing restaurants for lunch at that time. Indeed we will never frequent this restaurant again either. In addition to that the food was overpriced and our G&Ts cost £4.50 for a flat G&T each.
The Edge – Port IsaacA very 'trendy' bar but its gorgeous there, right overlooking the beautiful harbour.Been going to St Ives all my life,im 34,and always pay a visit wether with the girls or my husband & kids. Its only been there about 5 years i think.I'm going to St Ives for 2 weeks this year as we have a family wedding and we have hired the upstairs for a day before the wedding get together,it has a beautiful balcony overlooking St Ives harbour & there's nowhere else i'd rather be!!
Hub Bar and Kitchen – St IvesI have been going to St Ives all my life,i'm 34,and eaten in lots of places over the years but we return to Peppers every year.Lots of friends visit regularly and since recommending it too them ,they always return aswell!!I'm off to St Ives for 2 weeks this year so i will more than definitely be paying Peppers a visit or 2,with my kids too,its kiddy friendly!!And they serve pitchers of Pimms & Sangria!!Very highly recommended.
Peppers Pasta and Pizzeria – St IvesMy new favourite restaurant in St Ives!! The decor is great and the food is even better. The belly pork special - the best thing I ate whilst I was in town.
Firehouse Bar and Grill – St IvesA hidden little gem, a real great find. We arrived at 7.30 and we were greeted by a very friendly welsh person, who soon made is feel very welcome and relaxed. The menu was great, catering for all dietary needs, with local produce and everything homemade, including the bread (yum yum) the service was very efficient and the food was very well presented and tasted amazing! Well worth a visit
Squid Ink – LooeThe Greenhouse gives you great quality local ingredients which are very well prepared and simply presented. The surroundings are relaxed, the welcome warm and the prices more than reasonable - so it ticks all my boxes for a great restaurant. They also have a well chosen wine list and serve great local beers. We have become regulars - as much as an annual holiday in Cornwall permits - and recommend The Greenhouse to anyone we know who is going to the area. Friends have done exactly what we did the first time, eaten there and immediately booked to go back before the end of the trip, which is a recommendation in itself.
Greenhouse Organic Restaurant – The LizardThe dolphin Inn Grampound has the best Fish'nChips ever ; served as a specialty every Friday. Well and truly recommended for great pub grub
The Dolphin Inn – TruroOur first visit to Squid Ink won't be our last. During a week in Looe, we booked a table for our 'dressy' night out and we were really pleased we did. The restaurant is stylish and relaxing in a traditional building tucked away and the staff were friendly and efficient. The food was delicious; fresh, full of flavour, beautifully presented and perfect portion sizes. We recommend the surf n turf, the John Dory and stew and the white chocolate cheesecake. We also tried a bottle of the local Cornish vineyard wine, which went down very easily! A big cafetiere of fresh coffee rounded off a gorgeous meal. Price wise, even with the added bonus of getting the puds for free due to mentioning Sugarvine, it was about £80 with wine for 2, which is excellent value for money and on a par with a number of the other restaurants in the town. This place really deserves to do well.
Squid Ink – LooeWe were lucky to find this place whilst out for a drive for lunch on our holidays. What a wonderful find. We were so impressed we returned the next evening, the place was busy but the staff were first class matching the food. The finest pork I have ever tasted. 10/10 Cant be faulted
