Mexican Cantina – NewquayI took my wife to Bustophers for our first wedding anniversary after being recommended it by a close a friend who visited Truro a month ago. Not knowing the area I was a little unsure what to expect but what a fantastic find. This restaurant is one of the best I have had the opportunity to visit. The food was out of this world and the atmosphere was second class. The attention to detail is what makes this place so special and it is certainly a restaurant we will visit again. This is the one of the best restaurants in Cornwall. Every one deserves to enjoy this place and we can not recommend it enough!
Bustophers Bar and Bistro – TruroWe have lived in the Truro area for 25 years, so what a wonderful change to Bustopher's after that dark dreary interior. The bar area is superb and very inviting. The service afforded to us was excellent, particularly from Tom (the bar Manager). We had a wonderful bass served up on a base of dauphinoise potatoes and vegetables with superb sauce to match, probably the finest in the area. However, the Sunday roast did not meet up to our expectations and, sadly, was overcooked and of poor quality. Prices are commensurate with Truro's eateries although watch the cost of certain wines by the glass; it can work out to be expensive. Probably better to order a bottle if drinking at the bar. Overall though, a fine establishment with a terrific and exciting evening ambience. The waitresses are all very attractive, but some closer interaction with customers would go down well rather than just pointing them to a table and looking pretty.
Bustophers Bar and Bistro – TruroThe place was great, the burgers were amazing and the service was some of the best i've ever had. Personal, cosy, individual, refreshing and most of all - incredibly tasty. If you are going to St. Ives, go to Blas.
Blas Burgerworks – St Ives8 of us went for a hen night last Sat night and had a ball. We ate upstairs and watched all the fun of the bar below not to mention having a bit of a giggle ourselves-particularly with some of the good looking boys who work there. Food was great, cocktails brill and service attentive but not too formal and in your face. Love the building and the name!! Bizarre but certainly memorable
One Eyed Cat Bar and Restaurant – Truroexcellant food, service etc, perfect steak, chilli beef best ever tasted, dined at rick steins bistro week before very dissapointed 3 out of ten, seven bays 10 out of ten. be back next year.
Seven Bays Bistro – PadstowWe're down on hols from the Midlands and we went to this old Church around this time last yr just as it opened, maybe it was July. However, we've been back in and if anything it's even better than a yr ago. Food is amazing with a capital A!! Drinks too are quirky, innovative and truly funky. The building still looks like brand new and really stands out in a place where there is a fair share of average.
One Eyed Cat Bar and Restaurant – TruroWe had the taster menu and were not disappointed - my husband can’t eat shellfish, so they tailored the menu to suit him - each course was amazing although I felt that the puddings let the experience down a little and just did not have the wow factor that the rest of the meal had. Was the longest and most expensive meal that I have had - there for over 3 hours, each element from the nibbles were well thought out, would go back e
Paul Ainsworth at No 6 – Padstowrecently visited the mermaid on my last trip to the UK, and as usual the food and service was absolutely fantastico, the whole feel about the place and all the staff is as recent visits always first class, and the food is to die for and presentation second to none. It’s truly a must place to visit when in St. Ives
Mermaid Seafood Restaurant – St IvesWe have been to the Penventon Park Hotel restaurant a few times now and every time we have been extremely pleased with the standard of food and the quality of the service and surroundings. It is like stepping back in time to a more elegant age but without any of the snobbishness of some top end establishments. The choice of menus is amazing with different menus from Italy, France, Britain, a specialist fish menu and joy upon joy a separate and extensive Vegetarian menu, though you have to ask for this. You will have trouble deciding. For something that extra bit special do try this superb restaurant, you really won't be disappointed !
Penventon Park Hotel – Redruthi ate at Cribbs last Saturday, and it was obvious that they are a popular restaurant, they was packed! i ate the crusted sea bass which was absolutely superb and my wife had the Thai lamb which was a work of genius, i would highly recommend this place, its a relaxing and chilled atmosphere. The chocolate torte we had to share for desert, and it was without doubt the best looking desert ive ever seen and taste was to die for. no visit to Falmouth is complete without a meal at Cribs.
Cribb Dine and Lounge – FalmouthLoved this restaurant very romantic set right on the beach booked a romantic break in St ives again just to visit this restaurant again
Porthminster Beach Cafe – St IvesExcellent food, by far the best in Truro. Lovely restaurant, great wines and good service. Would highly recommend the fish on the blackboard. Maybe some online info/a website would be a good investment as it took a while to find any details after being recommended the restaurant by a friend. We'll be back for sure.
Bustophers Bar and Bistro – TruroHad a great meal at Chantek last night. Extensive menu was almost to big to make a choice from with so many things I wanted to try. In the end I had DimSum and Kari Seafood. Both were excellent. I'm no dim sum expert but it was very tasty. The seafood was fresh the sauce just the right amount of kick. A side of pad pad veggies was just a bit to much but was well cooked. The place was nicely buzzy for a weekday night too. Lived up to its reputation very well.
Chantek Thai and South East Asian Restaurant – TruroWindswept Cafe is out of this world. Sitting out on the terrace over the beach watching the surf and you just want to be there all year round watching the skies and the seas.It is a very very special place. Fantastic meals ,cakes that you cannot resist, great staff, modern decor, local art expo's, such a pity I live 8 hours away, can't wait to get back to that magical place.
Bodhi’s – NewquayA contemporary restaurant with a comfortable warm atmosphere. Food is good quality service is quick, not hurried. somewhere to feel a little special, without breaking the bank
Harbour View – FalmouthSome of the dishes are better then others and the level of service/attitude varied. I wouldn't go back in a hurry, although that's difficult as it's the only curry house in the area.
Bash Baagan – WadebridgeKegen Teg is a surprising find in St Just, as it is a funky little cafe with good music and a good selection of fresh juices and smoothies. It's great to find somewhere that uses good quality local food. I had the nettle and leek soup which was lovely and will go back to check out the falafel platter. They also do a selection of gourmet burgers which sound pretty good too. Highly recommended
