We had heard that Brendan had taken over as chef and that Louise had moved here from the blue fish, so we just had to try it out, we had a great night. It was a misty atmospheric evening outside and you couldn't see much, a real pea-souper! We were warmly welcomed by Louise and shown 2 separate menus; a la carte and the specials. I opted for the special starter of scallops with chorizo, rocket and chilli beurre blanc; a generous portion with excellent flavour (truffle oil on the salad a bonus. My partner ate; grilled Cornish goats cheese and a balsamic cherry tomato salad -a whopping portion of delicious, crumbly cheese. For mains I was recommended the line caught sea bass served with a white chocolate risotto, unusual but fragrant and delicious, the chocolate was in the background and the bass perfectly cooked. My partner chose a risotto of artichoke, parmesan and vermouth- a wonderful mix of flavour. We were stuffed but Louise said we must try a dessert, so reluctantly we had a signature pudding from the sous chef, a dark and white chocolate panacotta which was light and delicious, my partner opting for a strawberry semi-fredo. We were the last to leave and made our slow way home through the mist, sated.
