The sort of restaurant you hope to find on a visit to cornwall but never do!! Superb atmosphere and fine traditional menu, the fish was very fresh and tasty.
Smugglers Cott – LooeRick Stein has a team of Chefs that can turn out nothing short of seafood perfection. My partner and I went on a lucky booking. Usually hard to get a table because of its popularity. Worth the wait and the staff are 1st class! Scallops starter for her Thai Fishcakes for me followed by Lobster Thermidore mains and 2 bottles of wine. Faultless simple food. Price overall was roughly £20 more than our local seafood restaurant in N.Wales yet quality was a far superior!
Seafood Restaurant The – PadstowPricey but very tasty, get what you pay for. However I would say you got a better quantity than the norm in most...so that makes up for it! A great Chinese restaurant you can be guaranteed of excellent food and pleasant contemporary surroundings. Phone ahead and check availability though, winter times no need. Go again? Definitely!
Tai Pan – FoweyFabulous evening!!!!
Waves – PadstowWhat a find! The presentation of food was quite exceptional and more worthy of a top Restaurant! Yet at pub prices and served with the minimum of fuss. A must and we look forward to going back and staying in the Hotel simply to go to the Pub again!
Godolphin Arms – MarazionWe have a holiday home in St Ives and so we are there alot. This restaurant is definitely our favourite in St Ives. We can take the whole family including my dad who is tres fussy. The pizzas suit us and the kids as they taste just like the ones we have in Italy. Dad loves the selection of fish and mum always goes for the healthy pasta option. The ambience is great at night and the wood burning oven in the open kitchen is fab too watch. I'd recommend any family to try this restaurant out - good value and very family orientated.
Onshore Restaurant – St Ivesthe food was excellent, such a lovely place to be in
New Garden Chinese Restaurant – NewquayHave had many take-aways and a few sit down meals and in every case the food was excellent. Truro has been looking for a restaurant of this style for years and finally it has arrived. Not only is the menu extensive but also very reasonably priced. Well worth a visit a place not to be missed by lovers of fine food.
Chantek Thai and South East Asian Restaurant – TruroI fink it is a great restaurant with wonderfully tasting food! Greg laskey is an amazing cook!
New Yard – The LizardI have eaten at the Pier House on special occasions, such as New Year & Valentines Day and was extremely impressed. The fish dishes particularly are superb. For the Valentines meal, I had monkfish in pancetta on a bed of cous cous with roasted red peppers & feta cheese. Absolutely beautiful! I also ordered the most wicked cointreau & chocolate roulade. The staff are really friendly & the main part of the restaurant has harbour views, although if you are seated in the bistro part, it isn't half as nice. I think that is my only criticism. I haven't tried the Sunday carvery for some years, but I am sure it will be in the same league as the a la carte menu.
Pier House Hotel – St AustellThe food was absolutely delicious, puddings to die for!! Like home cooked food. The atmosphere was lovely too, very quaint. We will definitely go again.
Smugglers Cott – LooeThis place is well worth a visit and does take-away too. A lovely atmosphere, an extensive menu for both food and drinks and our food arrived in no time. I'll definitely be returning.
Chantek Thai and South East Asian Restaurant – TruroOn venturing on holiday to Cornwall my family and I stumbled across an exquisite humble restaurant. The food was divine with a variety of choices, including excellent vegetarian dishes . The staff were polite and very attentive, this made our meal absolutely charming. Would very much like to go again.
Pizza Patio – HayleAnother excellent meal last friday. Consistency is a great plus in a restaurant. Its also good because the half bottle selection allows you to choose the right wine with every course. We are so lucky to have this on our doorstep.
Alba – St IvesBoth being vegans, we wanted to see what Chantek had to offer us. The menu seemed to offer a wide range of vegetarian options, so it would seem a good chance that the vegan options would be good. Initially we were told that none of the dishes were vegan but when pushed, one of the front of house staff went to question the chefs. He returned to tell us that pretty much any of the vegetarian options could be made vegan. So after an initial struggle, we had a very tasty and healthy meal that we would highly recommend. They left out the Soya sauce though because they said it was made from fish! (Funny that because we thought it was made from Soya beans!).
Chantek Thai and South East Asian Restaurant – TruroHad a wonderful Chicken Jalfrazei in funky modern surroundings. An unexpected treat in St.Ives.
Rajpoot – St IvesWhat views!!!
