Trevaskis Farm Restaurant – Hayleone of the best restaurants in Mevagissey - we know many people who hav been there and returned for more of the qhality food which is always up to the same standard. Book or you will be lucky to get in
Salamander – MevagisseyWe booked the table by the window in advance and we were glad we did as it is a small restaurant. The food is very good but a bit limited for families even though our children are more adventurous than most. A bit pricey for a family of four! But nice as a treat!
Alba – St IvesVery much a family restaurant. The menu is great for kids and adults alike. The atmosphere was good as we were all made to feel wlecome. The service was very slow but then again it was the middle of August!
Rhubarbs – St IvesWhat a refreshing and exciting change for Falmouth. An unpretentious bar and restaurant that appeals to the modern sensibilities. The food was great and the service attentive. I shall be returning for a repeat experience soon.
Five Degrees West – FalmouthExcellent food, book early to avoid disapointment: Consistantly good food - Good base menu with fantastic specials Highly recomend!
Pilots Gig Restaurant – Scilly IslesThe pizzas at On Shore never disappoint and are very reasonably priced and so we go back again, and again and again. The puddings are pretty fantastic too. Get a table on the terrace or in the window and it's a hard restaurant to beat for the price.
Onshore Restaurant – St IvesExcellent views over the harbour and wonderful attentive and friendly service. The food was magnificent, imaginative and well prepared and presented. Fantastic value, two courses £18.00. three courses £22.00, with a good and value for money wine list. This restaurant will be very popular in a region crying out for such great restaurants. Booking advised as it gets full quickly. TRY IT NOW
Blue Haze – HelstonI had forgotton what a lovely restaurant this is with a magical setting. I love the menu and was spoilt for choice. I chose the thai chicken noodles which were delicious and my vegetarian friend was delighted with her burger. A lovely surprise was the starter of flat bread which came with some unusual dips including a beetroot one which was gorgeous. I just about managed to finish off a passion fruit trifle before we rolled home. The food was very reasonably priced and the staff really friendly and professional. I can't wait to go again.
Porthgwidden Beach Cafe – St IvesBusy, also takeaway. Polite and fairly quick service, good food. Best to go early in the evening and/or book first.
Bash Baagan – Wadebridgevery warm and welcoming! the ambience was great, not to mention the food ( fantastic ! ) and the waiting staff where very attentive. Great value for money - will definatley go there again!
Five Degrees West – FalmouthFrom the moment you walk in staff are welcoming and friendly. The quality of the food is exceptional and the service cannot be faulted. We visit the restaurant each month. The menu is so extensive it is impossible to get bored although we have our favourite dishes!
Baba Indian Restaurant – TruroA modern very well run bar.Imaginative food well presented by friendly trained staff.Thoroughly recommended advisable to book as it is being discovered
Five Degrees West – FalmouthThe waters echo blue, and for a moment, your eyes shielded from the sun as you scan the yacht filled bay, you are back in the med. The set three course dinner at £33.00 continous the theme, pan fried red mullet for me and a bruschetta of pate negra and tomato for my partner, both light and satisfying. Followed by local raised fillet of beef with gratin potatoes and for me seared John Dory with mash potato balanced with brocoli and pancetta. We finish our wine and attacked the desserts, of panettone bread and butter pudding off set delightfully with cinnamon ice cream, and the local cheese board with home made oak cakes. Relaxed and satisfied we pondered the evening now darken the light-house pale in the warm sky. For a no fuss, relaxing evening out with simple clean food echoing the med you could not do better than the Tresanton
Hotel Tresanton – Trurowhat a great place set in the lovely village of Chapel Amble, staff very very friendly and helpful, in fact we were on holiday for 7 nights and we eat at The Maltsters for 6 nights, fresh fish, daily specials and they used lots of local produce. cant wait till we go back again!
Maltsters Arms – Wadebridgethis has got to be the best indian restaurant in cornwall by far. great food and great service, we now visit the restaurant a least twice a month.
Baba Indian Restaurant – TruroThis has to be the best budget eatery in St Ives, where do I start? The Real Ales, The Belgian bottled beers, the great wine list at no margin or the food that is well above expectations. It's as if there is a award winning chef that should be in an expensive restaurant cooking in a pub! Fresh fish and meats are used instaed of frozen everything. Full marks and keep it up.
Castle Inn – St IvesI took two vegetarian friends out one Sunday evening for a treat, we sat in the conservatory and chose a decent bottle of rose bubbly to sip and were brought some canapes on the house. We sat at a a window table and soaked up the atmosphere, the veggies were very well catered for and thought the food was excellent, large servings and well presented. I chose the steak which cut like butter and came with 'hand made chips'. The desserts were beautiful and the wine list had a good choice of half bottles so everybody was happy. Well done the Bay!
