The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeFuneral wake buffet Lovely fresh sandwiches, warm sausage rolls & lots if delicious home baked scones with jam & cream.Plenty of tea & coffee. We were upstairs away from other guests & left to chat & enjoy the food, no pressure whatever to leave.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeThe Wheatsheaf is a great pub for its old style atmosphere and very decent food. We had the game pie and the cheese and onion pie. Both home made and both excellent. Not so sure about the rest of the plate. Would much have preferred red cabbage to mushy peas (?!) with the game pie. And salad with the cheese and onion pie was also an odd one. Lastly as another reviewer has mentioned the menu choice is quite restricted which limits our enthusiasm for more frequent visits.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe had Sunday Lunch at The Wheatsheaf and it was excellent. We both had the roast beef and it was served with a delicious selection of vegetables, both roast and mashed potatoes and of course Yorkshire pudding. Gravy was plentiful, as it should be. We shared starter of Morecambe Bay brown shrimps which were served in butter. Perfect. To round off the meal we had an indulgent Creme Brulee. Would highly recommend. Staff were very friendly.
