When we returned to the lakes again at February half term we knew we had to go again but this time we wanted to go in the evening. We were certainly not disappointed. The food was superb extremely well presented and totally faultless, needless to say we went back for lunch two days later again tremendous, oh and we took back home to Bolton two massive pieces of carrot cake. We certainly wont hesitate to make the hours journey when we go out for lunch or dinner its well worth the ride. A must for all food lovers.

Particularly liked the break between courses ( 5 of them !). Not the least pretentious. Excellent choice of food & wine and very well stocked bar.

Masons Arms – WindermereHave been a few times and really enjoy the experience of being there. It is expensive for the area. However to overcome expensive wine by the glass, buy a bottle you can get one for around 8pounds. The food is good and excellent value at the moment as they have a half price deal on! March 07. So if you are thinking of giving it a go get your skates on, you simply can't be disappointed at those prices.

We have 2 favourite Restaurants in the Area Beswicks and Rustique both VERY hard to beat for overall experience both different so could pick one over the other.

Bosuns Locker Cafe – Barrow-in-FurnessArrived in Carlisle from South Wales this weekend to visit friends, they had booked a table at Adriano's and told us we were in for a treat! When we arrived we were greeted by a genuine Italian!! and shown to the lounge, what a good idea, a great place to relax before and after a meal. The menu is vast, with something for everyone, our meal arrived as promised and was gorgeous, everything about this restaurant is outstanding, from the decor to the food, well worth a visit, next time were in Carlisle we WILL be back!
Adriano Ristorante – CarlisleOn my first visit to Gillams tea rooms I was in for a pleasant surprise. It is totally organic, vegetarian and fair trade. The waitress was friendly and the food was very nice. I have been on numerous occasions since and always find the food good. On a cold winters day its lovely to sit by a roaring fire eating good food.
Gillams Tearoom – UlverstonWe discovered Adriano's during our stay in Carlisle. We ordered the chicken valdostana which was excellent. The pasta dish was better than most I have tried. We highly recommend this fine Italian restaurant and would certainly eat there again.
