La Mezzaluna – CarlisleMy partner and I came here for dinner for my birthday and we absolutely loved it. The staff were all really friendly and kind, the pub is one of the few truly traditional country pubs left in Cumbria, with a lovely atmosphere - this was our second time visiting and both times we didn't want to leave! We will definitely be back soon :)
Queens Head Inn Tirril – PenrithLovely food, well presented Service excellent, accommodating when 2 of the party were delayed
Horse and Farrier – PenrithFood was good (chicken Caesar salad excellent and gammon good).., was disappointed menu had changed as I’d been a week before and had the steak which was excellent and had looked forward all day to my steak. Which unfortunately had been taken off the new menu and I had to have the chicken Caesar salad which was good but did not compare with the excellent quality and the cooking of the steak . My party felt the music was a bit loud and struggled to hear the conversations.. I will definitely return and fingers crossed the steak will come back on the menu
The Royal Oak – UlverstonWhat is there not to like?! The ambience was lovely, service great, food and wine superb. We had a lovely evening thanks! I'd recommend this gem is well worth a visit.
Sage and Vine – CarlisleAlways a pleasure to eat here. Staff lovely. Thoroughly recommend it.
Sage and Vine – CarlisleGreat service and excellent food Lamb Henry was a real pleasure very good and huge portion. Good beer and fabulous service no complaints at all which is rare nowadays highly recommended
Pheasant Inn – Keswick5 star!
Sage and Vine – CarlisleVery friendly, good food and even a meal for the dog
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. I am a diagnosed Coeliac and felt very confident that the chef would do his utmost to avoid cross contamination, although it was a small kitchen. Saying that, talking to the chef afterwards, he said that he doesn’t have flour in his kitchen. He uses cornflour if he has to. With regards to atmosphere , my husband and I were the first customers in for the early sitting, although gradually during our meal the restaurant did fill up. We didn’t feel rushed or uncomfortable though. I had salmon which was delicious and a huge piece. My husband had the Belly Pork which he thoroughly enjoyed. We ate here originally on the Wednesday night and before leaving, booked again for the Saturday night. I would definitely recommend.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereOutstanding food and service in a traditional pub. Beef pie, best chips you'll ever have, veg, sticky toffee pudding, 2 pints of bitter. Tough to beat anywhere.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickA superb restaurant with a great menu. The warm friendly service was first class. I would not hesitate recommending this restaurant to anyone. We will definitely be back.
