Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonWent for a spa day with my daughter! We had a nice day but spa facilities were very dated and need updating. No beds to lie on like shown in photos! Booked afternoon tea for 1pm but as menu was limiting for my 8 year old we opted for 2 course dinner! Was told as they were busy we couldn’t have hot food! Sandwiches were like a school lunch with half a packed of crisps and a few lettuce leaves. Drinks took ages to arrive and has to ask twice for them! Cake was also disappointing was served coffee cake and had nuts on top with no pre warning! Treatments were lovely but disappointing that both of ours were the same time and my daughter didn’t want to be alone so was offered to only have her nails painted which took 10 mins out of 50 min treatment! Can honestly say we won’t be back!
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonFood was excellent! Piping hot and delicious! It was lovely looking out of the conservatory at the rabbits running about while enjoying our evening meal. It would have been better if the wine list had contained a few more higher end wines.
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonAbsolutely beautiful food . Couldn't fault it. Maybe a bit more choice especwith starters would be good. The service especially for drinks let's it down badly.
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonIt was just ok really. The food was ok but service was very slow, even though it didn’t appear busy in the restaurant. The drinks order was wrong and took a while to correct and then we waited such a long time for 2 ice creams that we ended up cancelling as it was getting so late. The restaurant looks very dated. The staff were polite and tried to be helpful.
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonWe booked through Secret Escapes. The hotel has such potential but is very tired and is in desperate need of some investment. The highlight was the food which was tasty and served hot and was excellent value for money. However the property was tired in places and the public areas confused and lacking in atmosphere. The restaurant and orangery were not inviting, the bar area was confused between a work hub and sports bar there was a complete lack of comfortable seating areas. Such a pity.
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonBooked spa & afternoon tea package for my daughter birthday. Had a lovely massage ladies were lovely. The facilities are so tired looking in swimming pool/hot tub and changing rooms they could really do with updating. Afternoon tea was very disappointing, I don’t know if they were short staffed but we waited over half hour to be seen and then the afternoon tea arrived without drinks which took another 20 mins to arrive also. It’s a shame as I think this place could be a beautiful setting but it was tired and dirty.
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonI had a birthday afternoon tea for my friend i was rather disappointed in the quality of the food the Yorkshire pudding was served cold and rather dry the beef was fatty and too much garnish crammed into the pudding the sandwiches and scone was nice but rest bland and served cold nit the best experience to be honest
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonStaff were great and did best they could with what they had to work with, Whole place, spa included needs some TLC.
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonSomeone bought us a voucher through buyagift and this is where we chose to go. The hotel and spa needs updating (which I think they’re in the process of), a lot of paint flaking off etc. The food was nice but there wasn’t a lot of choice for lunch, just sandwiches or panini’s, the atmosphere was a bit dull too. There was only us and one other table, could have done with some background music. The treatments were good and the staff were lovely, the hotel just needs updating a bit
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonDisappointing food. Advertised as 'delicious two course lunch' so being in a health spa I expected the menu to have healthy starters and main courses. Instead we were handed a menu with a choice of sandwiches and crisps or toasties, paninis with fries or pizza as the first course then we were offered chocolate cake or fruit scone with jam n cream. Not exactly fitting with our expectations. My friend was also lactose free and there was nothing she could have as a second course and was offered another sandwich instead! We won't be going back as it was definitely not value for money. Spa area very dated. Pool cold and there were young children in the pool and sauna n steam room. Not something I expect on an adult relaxing spa day!
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonLunch menu is very limited, we asked to have a meal from the hub menu and the waitress went out of her way to help with that. Really just needs more choice and some healthier options would be great. That said the food was really tasty and everyone enjoyed their meal.
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonHow anyone can score the food here anything less than a 4.5 is beyond me!! Service was wonderful, all lovely smiling faces and the food, wow. There isn't a great selection, but what the do, they do well!! I was not disappointed!!
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonFood was ok , when it said a two course meal i wasn’t expecting a sandwich, when we order it took 35 mins to arrive , surroundings were lovely, we enjoyed watching the people playing golf, The spa is very dated , amazing what a lick of paint could do, also went in for a hour treatment and my partner only got half an hour , someone didn't get the meno, dont think we will be returning
Hall Garth Hotel – Darlingtonlovely afternoon tea warm and fresh, lovely surroundings would definitely visit again. Popped in spa pool was cold and it was a bit dated, but we still had a lovely afternoon
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonWe have stayed here twice over the past year and even though it needs some work we love the place. The food is really really good, I find the restaurant though bland in decor for such a lovely room it could be nicer, service can be slow at times but overall we will defo be back.
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonMy sister and I had afternoon tea at Hall Garth Hotel and I have got to say we were extremely disappointed. Some of the bread was almost stale and the cakes were certainly not the best we had tasted. The service was slow and we had to ask twice for a second pot of tea which we were told we would be charged for. Will not be returning here.
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonWe were greeted with very friendly staff and taken through to the room to be served with our afternoon tea We chose of the afternoon tea menu and they took our order We didn’t have long to wait at all Every think was brilliant during our experience at Hall Garth Hotel and the staff were so good Would highly recommend
