The Ragley Boat Stop – DerbyGood meal, clean , very helpful staff.
The Ragley Boat Stop – DerbyLovely food, steak was amazing and cooked perfect. Only downfall is they don't have vinegar?? I like vinegar on my chips, very strange a restaurant not having this. Apart from that it was lovely and will go back again
The Ragley Boat Stop – DerbyHad a lovely meal here service was great. All the covid advice was in place . They we’re happy for us to park our Motor home overnight free of charge , Our dog was given biscuits and a bowl of water too Will be back Thankyou.
The Ragley Boat Stop – DerbyNice welcome at front door, bar man was good, food ok all staff were working well with the bizarre way we are living at this covid time some of the customers let us all down however the bar man was well up to it and firmly and politely corrected things. Hopefully we will all get better at keeping our distance
The Ragley Boat Stop – DerbyAs always great value and great food. Perfect place for “pub grub”. Very good Covid safety too and always good to have a wander down to the canal .
The Ragley Boat Stop – DerbyReally enjoyed the food and the service from beginning to end was outstanding
The Ragley Boat Stop – DerbyNot the best visit we are regularly customers here but Sadler this was not the best visit - met by what can only be described as a very excitable Manager? We arrived at 2.03 for a 2:15 reservation to which he kept announcing they we were far to early ??? Queued for door order and drinks no problem but as you have to take your own drinks to the table once you have taken half the ordeR over the next person is at the glass screen ordering theirs so you are stood waiting whilst trying to get your The rest of your drinks - why don’t they just have the order section just slightly near and at the side place the drinks do you don’t have to return to the Perspex screen to collect - food was not the best ordered just the Cajun chicken with a salad no chips no potatoes no rice no veg - it came with the chicken breast and the usual small usual salad garnish no more salad than normal so basically just the chicken breast - the curry was inedible and we waited for the girl to return to ask If everything was ok but she never returned we couldnt go to the bar as the queue was so long - when she came back it was to collect the finished plates my father hadn’t eaten any of his meal apart from his extra Nan bread and a spoonful of rice ? The waitress said you haven’t eaten you lunch is everything ok we explained the curry didn’t taste nice - she was most apologetic and asked if we wanted something else to replace it but the rest of the group had already finished - no offer of a refund she said the manager had said there was nothing wrong with the food ??? But offers us a soft drink ?? Here the joke -?if we wanted the free drink we would have to queue for it to order it - again long queued at the bar ??? So one meal was fine two not ? Bar staff & waitress all very polite and kind just think they should review the way everyone orders etc - we have been to the Crew & Harpur and the Bubble - in both of these you are seated and a order taken at the table - paid via a portable card reader - or the waiter take your cash and bill at the end to pay - much easier system people in seats not moving around - Usually the Ragley are second to none with good and service and we as a family are great supporters of the place but sadly on this visit I can only say it was poor - But to compensate we were offered a drink ! It not about getting a free drinks it about getting it right in the first place my father left having not eaten at all - come on Ragley Boat stop - we know you can do so much better !
The Ragley Boat Stop – DerbyNot great, food came out at different times so no of our party of 5 was eating at the same time !
The Ragley Boat Stop – DerbyDelicious quality food at a great price, will definitly pay another visit
The Ragley Boat Stop – DerbyVery good one of the best steaks I have had
The Ragley Boat Stop – DerbyDefinitely one of the best places to eat in Derby! wasn't sure about French food but its great with lots of different choices to suit all tastes.
Bistrot Pierre – DerbyWe came today 4/3/16 we ordered puddings and waited 35 minutes we didn't receive our puddings this isn't the first time this has happened. I'm feeling very let down by your service.
Bonnie Prince at Chellaston – DerbyWhat a fantastic afternoon we all had Darleys Restaurant in Derby.
Darleys Restaurant – DerbyOriginally The Raj on Keddleston Road, now opened in Park Farm Allestree in a beautiful new restaurant. Went with my family a couple of days after the new venue opened - An excellent atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff and food as excellent as it has always been. Definitely our favourite Indian restaurant (and we have tried many all over the UK).
The Royal Raj – DerbyIt was really good! really nice place enjoy the cherry chapstick!!
The Brooklyn Social – DerbyWe made our first visit to The Brooklyn Social last night. Our table for 5 had been booked well in advance. First impressions were great, brilliant interior, buzzing atmosphere....everything set for a good night. The table was small, adequate for 4 people only but we let that go. On to ordering the drinks.... Beer was good so the men in the party were happy, ladies not so. We were told there was no chilled Sauvignon ....ok we'll have Pinot Grigio....the waiter then proceeded to inform us that they hadn't actually got any Wine....they might have Prosecco but it might not be cold,,, in the end we opted for Prosecco which was reasonably chilled. After a long wait for food the waiter returned to inform us there had been an issue with getting our order to the kitchen.....the waiter then had to take the order for a second time. Eventually it arrived and was very nice..... The size of the table was an issue as we were juggling dishes, glasses etc around. We were given a complimentary round of drinks and the bill was discounted for our poor experience but. The point is you only have one chance to make a first impression and last night was shambolic.
The Brooklyn Social – DerbyI never leave reviews, but this food was so stale and tasted like it had been sitting around in the kitchen for hours before they served me. Do not waste your money, go anywhere else, honestly for the price they charge the crap you get is not worth it. I once went to a gala bingo hall which served equivalent food, worth mentioning that food came free with the entrance fee. (No offence to anyone who likes food served in gala bingo halls) Such a shame because I have been to other Eds Diners in Birmingham and London and they were really good.
