Linny Inn The – Newton AbbotA lovely meal, a set 3 course for about £15 all freshly cooked, the steak was to die for. not a roast dinner/carvery in sight, thank goodness. Try the salmon in a lime sauce, beautiful. The owner was very friendly and made us feel really welcome. a lovely old place beams etc. lovely.
Just Williams – PlymouthThe best roast dinners in Devon!! Will definitely be back again. Nice friendly atmos in the bar area too.
Dolphin The – DartmouthThis restaurant is run by a couple with vast previous experience in the business. The lady, who I understand hails from Singapore, does the cooking and produces superb meals. The starters (typically £3.95) are varied and delicious. The main courses (typically £8.95) are mainly served with rice and super steamed vegetables. The wine list is excellent. It's a small place that is very busy at weekends, so book in advance. We've been there three times and it's certainly our favourite in this area.
East Of The Water – BidefordWe have visited several times now, as we are moving into the area, We feel very lucky to have such a lovely friendly place to eat so near to our new home.
Mount Pleasant Inn – TivertonFound this bistro by accident when visiting nearby University.. Over a few days we enjoyed really fresh shellfish and local fish, simply cooked with brilliant sauces. The wines at Bistro One are excellent with stuff from districts I'd never heard of! Like the atmosphere including the jazz. Breath of fresh air on our short visit to Plymouth.
Bistro One – PlymouthWe had a lovely meal.....their curries are superb, Sunday Lunches are good value too, plenty on a plate & well presented.
Malt Scoop Inn The – OkehamptonExcellent food and great beer, the only complaint would be the time between the starter and the main, didn? really have time to finish chewing on the starter before the main came.
Chichester Arms – BarnstapleMy wife had a very nice evening here last year, great atmosphere on a Wednesday, very busy, great food - couldn? fault it
Honiton Wine Bar – HonitonMy Wife & I ate here on Valentines night 2007, and the restaurant was full! (Including an incredibly busy Take-Away service). Despite this, the disposition of the staff was nothing short of excellent at all times. The food was sublime as per usual and we had a fantastic time. I cannot praise them enough and I wish I could go again tonight!!!!
Crediton Tandoori Restaurant and TakeAway – Creditonthe chips are good. the beer was cold
Crystal Dragon – PlymouthWe were told of this new and wonderful pub that had just opened in Holsworthy, and we should go down and try the carvery. We travelled from Bude, and realised when we got there that the pub was the Old Market Inn. My first thoughts were, I've been here before and did not enjoy it one bit. However I was convinced by my partner to carry on with our plans. We met up with our friends inside the pub and wow what a difference. The welcome was warm and friendly, and the atmosphere was fantastic. We sat on the leather sofas reading the complementary papers until it was time to go through. We walked through to what was a busy yet very well organised restaurant and shown to our table by the courteous and bubbly waitress, and then up to the carvery. With a choice of three meats and endless veg and roast pots, it was hard to make my mind up. After eating what seemed to be a mountain of food we retired back to the bar for coffee and other refreshments. We would like to say a big thank you to the new owners for looking after us so well, and look forward to seeing them very soon. More than likely next Sunday.
Old Market Inn – HolsworthyWOW!!! The food here was amazing never tasted anything like it. The service was great too. I will recommend this to all my friends.
