Williams Arms – BrauntonWe dropped in for lunch, it was unusually busy we thought considering its in the middle of nowhere, but, I suppose it is just outside of Exeter. It would have been very easy to spend but we used will power and held back. I had sausage and mash, it was fantastic, the quality of the sausages was staggering, apparently they are made just for them by a top local butcher. My partner (a Veggie) had what she referred to as brilliant, a tart of leek and goats cheese, we couldn? resist puddings. We shared a selection of different passion fruit desserts that included sorbet, cheesecake and mousse, all presented on designer crockery and a mille feulle of berries with creme anglaise. I cant wait for the opportunity to go at night.
Jack In The Green Inn – ExeterWe always get a warm welcome from the friendly, knowledgeable staff, whether we last visited a month or a year ago! Great menu - too much to choose from! - and a relaxed atmosphere. The best curry house in Plymouth - very highly recommended.
Eastern Eye – PlymouthWe had a very good time here, personal service, friendly staff and a passionate chef all make the difference here. The sea bass with asian flavours was excellent as was the presentation. I heartily recommend this to anyone around the Exeter area
Neil’s Restaurant – SidmouthThe best pub and restaurant in south Devon the food is great and a good selection of wines and beers and dose great kids meals. I have been coming to Devon for many years and would recommend the sloop to anybody the restaurant is called [the hungry horse] and outside there is a great play area for the kids they also do a good drinks selection for the kids
Sloop The – Newton AbbotFound Chandlers on here and thought it looked interesting - so glad we did! Excellent food, a superb location (the view would have been better if it hadn't been obscured by liquid sunshine!), great service and a bill at the end of it that left me smiling. A treat for the taste buds, the eyes and the wallet - oh and the feet will appreciate it too with parking right outside. All in all one of the more enjoyable culinary experiences we've had in Plymouth recently
Chandlers Bar and Bistro – PlymouthA great meal lovely people great prices and brilliant real ales
Earl Of Portsmouth The – ChulmleighExcellent food, good wine, creative cooking. But the location is not at all central, and the deco is just bad taste: plastic and DIY. A place serving original food and wine should have a matching interior.
Bistro One – PlymouthI had a very good time there, food was superb, Iqbal was extremely helpful...Top guy! Knows his stuff... I would recommend anyone to go there...bite pricey, but it was definitely worth it! 10/10 from me...
Eastern Eye – PlymouthWE NEED MORE RESTAURANTS LIKE THIS LONG MAY THEY CONTINUE *****
Les Saveurs Restaurant – ExeterReally good bistro style food with emphasis on local produce & seafood served by friendly staff in a great atmosphere.
Waterside Bistro – TotnesExcellent all round do Worth a stop over
Devonshire Dumpling The – CreditonA true Bistro. Plenty of local produce cooked simply and well. Seafood we had on our table included Oysters, Mussels, Clams and Scallops all presented with panache. Brilliant cheeses! Top house wines from wine districts new to me. But what we really liked was the "keep it simple" flag they are waiving. I must go back for a breakfast very soon.
Bistro One – PlymouthI love this place. My hubby and I are regulars; we always arrive at 6pm, no reservation, spur of the moment, and are treated like friends. The food is awesome, I? veggie, but have as much choice as my non veggie hubby. Try the shared veggie starter, its THE BEST! You wont be disappointed..
Thai House The – PlymouthThe decor and layout is classically contemporary and extremely stylish. The sumptuous sofas, comfortable chairs and open plan well laid out design create a very relaxing and welcoming ambience. It's easy to spend all evening there, which we did! A good wine list focusing on middle range to excellent quality wines at a fair price, along with a decent selection of other drinks to suit all tastes. We chose a fixed selection of tapas from the main menu and a couple of specials from the board. The food was superb! The highlights included such delights as smoked tomatoes, home roasted nuts, delicious chorizo, horseradish leaves in the sales and wild garlic pesto. The presentation of the food, the combination of flavours and imaginative use of ingredients was brilliant. If you love food, Browns is a must visit destination! Finally, mention must be made of the excellent service. Very personable and friendly hosts made us feel like valued guests rather than customers. Having visited 100's of restaurants over the last few years, Browns is one of those rare and special finds that I will definitely be going back to soon.
Browns Hotel and Bar – DartmouthThe owner remembered us from a visit 7 months earlier, his pleasant approach makes all feel welcome and the service and attention to detail by his son (I presume) was second to none, excellent menu quality of food and wine and a tiramisu to die for!! WE SHALL RETURN AGAIN!!
La Scala – PaigntonRoedean is my husband and I's favourite restaurant - usually saved for special occasions. We have been going there for the last 3 years. The restaurant is family owned and the care and attention that goes into the menu planning, quality of food, staff and atmosphere is clear to see. We have never had a disappointing meal. On every single occasion I have ever been I always have the 'speciality' Creme Brulee for desert - I have never tasted a better one!
Rodean – ExeterFour of us ate on a Friday evening in the restaurant, rather than the bar. The slightly dated decor did not detract from what was a superb meal. Presentation is excellent but quality and taste are not neglected. Portions are adequate, though a slightly larger vegetable dish would have been nice. The choice is plentiful, with more dishes on the chalkboard. Service was good with staff attentive and knowledgeable. Highlight for me was the citrus dessert selection - 4 mini desserts in one at a bargain price! As far as prices are concerned, think of the Jack as a restaurant, rather than a pub and consider the cost reasonable in relation to the quality of the fare. Excellent!
