Giovanni’s Restaurant – BarnstapleMy wife and I read the review by, of course, anonymous, with some amusement, this had to be written by somebody who has not visited this pub, the most expensive item on our menu is duck breast fillet with a plum caramelised plum sauce for £11.50 and even allowing for the most expensive starters at £5.50 each and sweets at £3.75 this so called unhappy customers bill would not have reached well over £100. My message is this Mr. anonymous, if you have ever eaten here, and I don't think you have for one minute, show us your email address. Graham and Sue Levick.earlofportsmouth-pub.co.uk
Earl Of Portsmouth The – ChulmleighTucked away on Ebrington Street in Plymouth this restaurant is excellent. It offers a fresh, locally produced menu, which although isn't extensive is absolutely sublime. I would say ditch the table coverings and put on some music and it would be a hit (if it isn't already). Wine tasting evenings will be available shortly.
Bistro One – PlymouthSince Bar Venezia has been re-opened as a Mediterranean Restaurant, I can't stop myself from going and sampling dishes from Spain, France, Portugal, Greece and Italy. Wow...
Bar Venezia – ExeterGood variety of tapas but only 3 main courses to choose from. Didn? feel very welcomed by the waitress, maybe because it was busy. Tapas of lamb kebabs, air dried tuna, marinated olives, olives wrapped in anchovy were DELICIOUS. Saw two couples being turned away on a Wednesday night.
Moorish – Newton AbbotI have been to Starz twice now; most recent was for a Hen Party. I have to say, they were fantastic. Food was amazing everyone was so friendly making sure you have everything you need, they are really good with large groups of people too. I will definitely re visit as often as I can. But Book in advance, they do get very busy. Thanks Starz
Starz Bar and Restaurant – ExeterI've been to Starz many times and have always been impressed by the waiting staff and good the food is. Although trying to book there now is a nightmare it? so busy every night of the week!!!!!! But just recently the staff seemed too have the lost the smile off there face and don't seemed to enjoy it as much. I and my family were served by Lynsey last time I was there and she was fantastic, always smiling and added to our night. I did miss the restaurant manger I think he was called Stuart always had a smile on his face and the waiting staff seemed to buzz of him, plus he was really good to my little sister when she went there for her 22nd birthday.
Starz Bar and Restaurant – ExeterThey serve the best Indian food in Plymouth!
Cafe Indiya – PlymouthVery enjoyable and relaxing. The place was nicely set out, you had to order your food and drinks at the bar, but it was worth it.
Chaucers – ExeterA trendy environment, serving good quality food at reasonable and affordable prices.
John Gandys – ExeterThe food is always great when we go here. The ribs for starters and the King prawns are a must have! Fajitas are fantasic too. Whatever you choose you won't be disappointed. Don't forget to book at weekends!
Arribas – PlymouthI had a meal with my wife & 2 friends & I found the food to be reasonable but nothing wonderful. The service again was only acceptable. I find it hard to believe that the desserts are so called home made. The bill was well over £100 for 4 people & for a village pub I find this strange
Earl Of Portsmouth The – ChulmleighMy husband had never tried Japanese food before and as I had lived in Japan a few years ago, I wanted to introduce him to the cuisine. We were quickly greeted and seated, and drinks arrived almost as soon as we ordered. The menu was clear and the choice of food was varied - yakitori, sushi, sashimi, etc... We chose a variety of dishes - all of them were cooked fresh and the presentation was excellent - and for someone who is fussy, my other half loved all of the food! Although not the same as I remembered, the food was excellent and had not been "anglified" at all. My only concern was that the only Japanese beer available was Kirin Beer, and that 180ml of Saki was £6. The evening out was a touch more expensive than we would usually pay, but we will go again and recommend to anyone!
Yukisan – PlymouthExcellent food at a great value. This would be my first recommendation to anybody eating out in Woolacombe.
Boardwalk The – WoolacombeI came here a long time ago, when it was a dark and dingy pub/restaurant. Looking for somewhere 'nice' but informal with a memorable setting for my guests to eat, decided to try the Dolphin as I'd overheard favourable comment. First impressions were -wow - Lightly illuminated with a lot of pale timber and slate floors - it was a vibrant and dynamic environment. We had to work hard to find a seat (having not booked) but found a large adult sized solid timber table. It felt like home. Food was well presented and bang up to date. I have no hesitation in making a return trip.
Dolphin Inn – PlymouthGreat
La Gendarmerie – IlfracombeThis place quite possible does the best carvery in Exeter at the lowest price. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, and the food is fantastic and very cheap. Well worth a visit, I guarantee you'll be back.
Exeter Arms Toby Hotel – ExeterA cracking restaurant, highly recommended. The staff were friendly and helpful, the atmosphere warm and jolly. And the food ... well that was outstanding.
