The meal was more of a modern pub lunch. it maintained the ideals of a typical smart pub location but in addition offered fine food, of which was in good quantity.
Barn Owl, The – Exeter

Barn Owl, The – ExeterThe restaurant and staff were totally amzing, the Japanese dining room is the perfect touch and the food is exquisite!! I can't recommend it more.
Yukisan – PlymouthYet another superb evening, the creative artistry and magnificent tasting food just keep getting better. You were as ever the perfect hosts, thank you. David & Tre
Yukisan – PlymouthHaving just visited relatives in Exeter, I have returned to Denver, USA. This place really was home from home, the food the service and the cocktails were fab. They certainly made sure I had a nice day. When I am next in Exeter I will return to Starz.
Starz Bar and Restaurant – ExeterI have just recently sampled the utter delight that is Donato's -I would highly recommend this as an elegant restaurant that is suitable for all ages!
Donato’s – ExeterHaving dined at this restaurant for well over a decade, I am never disappointed. A friendly atmosphere and attentive staff, plus an excellent choice of menu (the Meza is a feast for two!) make this a good venue for an intimate dinner or for large parties. Booking a must at weekends - when the atmosphere charges up with Hen parties and dancing.
Grecian Taverna The – PlymouthThis is a brilliant place in Plymouth for lunch or a mid-afternoon hot chocolate! The largest and most fantastic around-ask for a bucket and try to get a sofa! The food is lovely, with good size portions. A great chilled out restaurant for lunch or dinner with friends.
Lorenzo – PlymouthWe have visited this restaurant a number of times and have had very good food each time. However the friendliness of the staff makes it the visit worthwhile. They seem to genuinely enjoy and have fun in their job, which as a customer it is a pleasure to see. The staff will offer recommendations on the wine and daily specials which have never failed to be superb, the veal was especially so.
Positano – PlymouthOne of the best places for curry in exeter!
Taj Mahal Tandoori Restaurant – Exetermy favourite place to eat!
Bamboo The – ExeterOK for a pizza, pasta dishes not so good, bit pricey for the wine
ASK – ExeterI would like to recommend: The Kings Arms, Currently serving some of the most imaginative seafood dishes in South Devon. Supplies are local, but ideas are gleaned from the world larder. Seriously good cooking in the confines of a jolly, family-run village pub. The wine list isn't bad, either!
Kings Arms – DartmouthThis is quite a small place but they say good things come in small packages. The food here has been very good on the occasions that i have eaten here. You have to try the garlic bread - its the best!! Well worth the travel outside of Exeter
Manor Inn – ExeterGreat food. Loved the Seafood Broth. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
No 7 Fish Bistro – TorquayThe food served at the EOP is better than that served up in the nation's most prestigious venues. Prices are modest and represent excellent value for money. The Chicken Breast Stuffed with Wild Boar Sausage Meat is orgasmic and the Steak and Kidney Pie is pure sex on a plate! Graham's jokes are predictable, I think he only knows about six so you get them all eventually. For a village pub in North Devon this has to be one of the Nation's Hidden Treasures. The anonymous reviewer must have a hidden agenda, of the numerous people I have recommended not one has had anything other than the highest praise for the Food and Atmosphere. Top job Graham and Sue.
Earl Of Portsmouth The – Chulmleighgreat food, great place.........
White Hart Hotel and Brasserie – Newton AbbotOur third visit to this colourful bistro was made by the quality of the seafood and fish. Lovely original flavours mingle with sweetness and texture. Wines worth a mention with an excellent bin-end selection providing an excellent match to the chosen dishes. A lovely downtown bistro well worth searching for.
Bistro One – PlymouthI have visited this restaurant on two separate occasions over the last year and on both occasions have had an excellent meal. Whilst it was busy on both occasions and the service suffered at times, the staff, once "cornered" were helpful and cheerful, and coped well with the pressure. The ambiance is a bit cold and can be noisy, but apart from that minor qibble, its location in several rooms of an old building overlooking the cathedral is unusual and interesting. In summary, not a place to go if you are in a hurry, or want a quiet candlelit dinner for 2, but the food more than makes up for it - definitely the best pizzas I have tasted in Exeter. We will be going back !
