Oyster Shack The – KingsbridgeThis is a great pub. The food certainly isn't fantastic - its pretty traditional and ordinary pub fare - the English food is better - my wife strayed into a pasta dish which was probably 50% cheese! However, to be fair the last time I ate there was a year ago - it may have improved since. But the ambience is really great, the staff are friendly - and you can't beat it for location. Sitting outside in the summer with a plate of chips looking at the sea! Great!
Red Barn – WoolacombeI love it, with a nice range of surfboards, its somewhere I want to go to relax after I have being surfing all day
Red Barn – WoolacombeWe have eaten at this restaurant half a dozen times since it has opened, having eaten Japanese food in Japan, we found the authentic experience of dining in the upstairs dining room a wonderful one. Our martial arts club had a banquet there last night and we were treated royally. MAGNIFICENT, I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT EVERYONE TRY THIS BEAUTIFUL RESTAURANT.
Yukisan – PlymouthGood food and friendly staff
Hoi Shing – DawlishWas lucky enough to arrange a 40th birthday party here - we really couldn't have asked for more in every respect. Our guests came from all over including France and without exception they absolutely loved the place. Can't wait to return for a more intimate dinner.
Al Farid – ExeterDamien Hurst? new restaurant in Ilfracombe is a wonderful place to visit; we ate in the Atlantic room upstairs and had a wonderful meal. Can? wait to go again
The Quay – IlfracombeI have personally eaten @ the 'Earl' on many occasions With Family & friends. Every time i have been Sue has out-done herself with the food, whether Bar-snacks or Full restaurant meal. Fantastic! and it keeps getting better. Not forgetting Graham Behind the bar (Trainee comedian) They both make you feel warm and welcome in this lovely village pub. Always a good night guaranteed. B.C.
Earl Of Portsmouth The – ChulmleighWe have been to The China House 3 or 4 times and have never been disappointed. I love the atmosphere, as it is a really old building, with lots of cosy corners and uneven floors etc. It is particularly wonderful at Christmas, with a huge floor to ceiling tree. The menu is above average pub fare, very well - priced and always served promptly. There is quite a good wine list and the staff are happy to recommend a bottle. I haven't sampled the Christmas menu, but it reads very well and again is competitively priced. We live in St Austell, but would definitely be regulars if we lived nearer. Richard & Helen Boyle
China House The – Plymouththis place is great! food is good, the desserts even better!! you must check this place out. highly recommended.
Starz Bar and Restaurant – ExeterA must visit restaurant serving imaginative, beautifully prepared, english food in real style. Lovely atmosphere and real care shown to ensure your visit is memorable.
Rodean – ExeterVery good introduction to Japanese food, we were able to sit in the 'Japanese room' upstairs which you have to request on booking, made it a really different experience. Don't go there if you like feeling stuffed after a meal, go for a romantic 'on the floor' dinner with some amazingly, delicately prepared food. Service was good and with a smile. Teriyaki Beef and sea bass are excellent choices. The sushi was far better than the offerings at M&S, yes, kind of pricey, but worth the money.
Yukisan – PlymouthEvery time I visit Zizzi's I find something else to love about it... this time it was the willingness to do anything to make my sisters 18th meal out a great success. Nothing was a problem and the staff were a treat. It is so rare to go out be served by people who genuinely seem to enjoy being there and to actually take part in conversations and make us laugh rather than dragging their feet off and moaning... The food was perfect, even the simplest dishes are given the utmost care and attention. I have never found a dish that I thought could have been better and the portions are amazing... My favourite dish would have to be the Clarissa... Admittedly i could go on about this place for ever... I love it
Zizzi – Exeterfood cooked to order, good fresh produce well presented and fantastic taste. ask for the other wine list wow!!
Anchor Inn – ExeterI love this place. I go with my partner all the time. Food is great and location is fantastic! Easy parking. Well recommended.
Bar Venezia – Exeteri went to Harry's based on the recommendations i read here. The food was good, but not quite as outstanding as was mentioned by a previous reviewer. Service was a tad slow, but i do recommend this to people who havent been before.
Harrys Restaurant – ExeterAlways a very pleasant atmosphere in the Restaurant area, although found the young girl serving behind the bar, quite frosty on occasions
Church House Inn – KingsbridgeVery good
