Robert Bryant at Maiden Arch – BarnstapleA truly amazing evening. The food and service was impeccable. It was a wonderful way to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was our first visit but we would love to come back at some point in the future.
Robert Bryant at Maiden Arch – BarnstapleFantastic food. Excellent service from lovely waitress. Beautiful sunshine. It always feels like we are on holiday when we eat here. A perfect anniversary lunch. Great value too. Thanks Maritimo.

Maritimo Wine & Tapas – PlymouthFantastic service as always, staff and food exceptional
Maritimo Wine & Tapas – PlymouthWe have been to Maiden Arch maybe six or seven times and it is universally excellent. It simply is the best food in Barnstaple, a real pleasure and feels like a special occasion to eat there every time. Thoroughly recommend it, and great value for money for what is basically Michelin star food in North Devon.
Robert Bryant at Maiden Arch – BarnstapleBy some distance the stand out restaurant in Barnstaple. The menu was the best we have enjoyed at Maiden Arch, with a very well balanced selection of dishes which complemented each other beautifully as the evening developed. Will be back, soon.
Robert Bryant at Maiden Arch – BarnstapleLovely place to spend our one year anniversary, staff were very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be visiting again.
Maritimo Wine & Tapas – PlymouthDelightful to sample gourmet standard food in North Devon. Each dish on the tasting menu a work of art and some intense flavours and colours. First time for a delicious Oyster from Porlock! .‘Treats’ from the attentive waiter a bonus and worth a visit. No printed menu due to IT glitch and unable to have a glass of champagne on arrival. Prosecco a second best on my very special occasion & reason for visit. Cheese course not served as delivery problem. Would like to have congratulated chef Rob and talked about local suppliers. Another time? Thank you for a pleasant evening.
Robert Bryant at Maiden Arch – BarnstapleGreat service. Great view. Great food.
Maritimo Wine & Tapas – PlymouthWe have visited on several occasions , introduced a friend today and we were impressed with the food and service as always. We will be back.
Maritimo Wine & Tapas – PlymouthAmazing tapas and service. Will be back soon. Al dishes amazing but stand outs were scallops, chorizo, sea bass fillets and chicken.
Maritimo Wine & Tapas – PlymouthThis restaurant is in a wonderful situation, overlooking Plymouth Sound and Drakes Island. The food was well prepared, full of flavour and served by attentive waitresses. For some there is the draw back of many stairs.
Maritimo Wine & Tapas – PlymouthExcellent tapas! Portion size: We had seven dishes between 3 adults and a child; just right. Good service but, although great view, the environment was a bit bare. Recommended!
Maritimo Wine & Tapas – PlymouthOur second visit in a month and once again excellent food with a well balanced selection of exquisite dishes. There were enough tweaks and changes in the menu between the two visits that we did not feel the experience was a repetition. Occasional slips in service were more than compensated by the jolly welcome and generous spirit (we were told there had been some last minute staffing challenges). Given the small number of covers and the technical nature of the cooking the margins must be very tight- it certainly is not cheap but I believe it is good value.
