Leziz – PlymouthFantastic fish and chips! Deliciously cooked food, friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere.
The Fish Shed – ExeterWhat a great Tapas bar, we've eaten here three times but not made it into the restaurant part. However the bar area is just great sat on the high stools and sampling the small plates is just great. We will book ahead some day and get to the restaurant part, we'll be back soon!
The Terrace Tapas & Wine Bar – IlfracombeJust Fantastic! Ambiance is great, food choice, extensive, Service, impeccable a sheer delight to dine out here. Highly recommended .
Hele Billys – IlfracombeWe enjoyed a very nice meal at Meze Grill last week, we had a Groupon voucher but I heard the restaurant can offer this deal themselves if you ring them. We enjoyed 10 courses, although each "course" in the starter was something like hummus or olives (not exactly a "course" but still enjoyable). There's no way we could have eaten 10 courses of a "normal" size so it was a very good deal for us and a good amount of food. Lovely styling in the restaurant and excellent service by staff. We will definitely go back again!
Cannot fault Zeus, delicious food, large portion sizes, reasonable prices, lovely style restaurant. Excellent.
Zeus – PlymouthFab, I've discovered Carluccios and recommend it to everyone. Especially coeliacs. I can't tell you what a treat it is to be able to go to a resturant and ask for GF food without feeling like you are a freak or putting anyone out. The food is delicious. GF bread is served as normal. Just wait until you try the warm chocolate pudding. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. You would never know it was GF.The staff are friendly and made our visit great. We will go again and again.
Carluccio’s – ExeterBooked for Mothers Day because of extensive menu only to find they only served carvery on Sundays. I would not have booked if I had known this not a very good carvery at that.
The Hunting Lodge – IvybridgeReally nice food and friendly staff.
Golden Hind The – AxminsterWhat a great restaurant to try something slightly different. If you want standard Indian food then no problem however if you fancy something Himalayan then this is the place. Mixtures of Chinese, Goan ,Thai and Indian dishes are available. Service was good but did get a little slow as the restaurant got busy, however there was only one waiter present. Absolutely brilliant and I will be back.
Namaste Himalaya – ExeterVisited Lanterns on many occasions and was really looking forward to going on the 28th December 2015 to celebrate a friend's birthday. The refurbishment is nice, however this was not reflected in the poor service we received. The restaurant was only half full so there was no excuse for Starter's not arriving together and in the end had to get own soap from service. Steak poorly cooked and food cold by the time we received. We repeatedly had to ask where food and drinks were. We spent £200.00 for a very poor experience.
Lanterns Kebab and Steak House – PlymouthHad a fantastic meal with a group of friends over Xmas, its a must for any age or size of group defo recommend.
The Cosy Club – ExeterLovely food, great value, I'm going tomorrow again ummmm.
Buffet City – PlymouthI was working as a fundraiser at the time and our team decided to take a break so we can rest our legs. My female colleague used the toilet and ended up buying a lemonade and peanuts from the bar.Me and my friend were strapped for cash, but as no one else was in the pub and someone had paid for something, we decided to take a small break in one of the booths before we headed out.10 minutes rest later, before we left, my colleagues left me to take care of their items, as they went out to smoke. At which point I was aggressively approached by a woman and asked if we had finished as quote 'This is a business, not a Charity!!!'. At which point I tried to be civil and replied 'In the future I may choose to come back here, I just don't have any money at the moment and my friend did buy something'. At which she replied 'Well if you spend money here in the future with us, you'll be welcome to come back, but it's not my problem if you need a rest as I'm running a business'.I may have understood if we were taking up space that other customers were using, but as I said literally no one else was there. It was an aggressive outburst that frankly wasn't warranted, even when I tried complementing her on the interior design of the pub she just made a snarky comment on how 'Yes this business!!! Is nice isn't it'.I for one will tell my friends to go elsewhere if they're ever in Kingsbridge, as I'm sure there are much more affable places in such as nice town.
Dodbrooke Inn The – KingsbridgeOn the 9/9/14 we tried to eat at Scoffs. My friend was in a scooter and had her foot in a brace which meant that she needed to stay in the scooter. The place was quiet. Upon entry the tall guy asked us to leave the scooter outside one of the other staff noticed that my friend had her leg in a brace and pointed it out, to which the other guy then said "can you sit outside then"!! It was late in the afternoon and going off chilly. I noticed that someone else had a seat walker frame which wasn't that much smaller than the scooter but they were allowed to sit inside. I said "oh so you can allow that in here then" We told him to forget it and we ate at a much friendlier place. Later when we went back past we saw a pushchair in there!!!! What's the difference???? Certainly NOT disabled friendly...... only to certain people it seems. Your loss mate.
