Chulmleigh Tandoori – ChulmleighWhat an amazing restaurant, called in for breakfast today and was really impressed, fantastic choice on menu at very reasonable prices, very quick service, will be telling all my friends about route303. A .
Route 303 – HonitonAmazing well needed addition to the area , great food and prices ,excellent service. we have eaten there four times and recommended the place to several mates who also love it , the only negative comment is .....please turn the air con down as its freezing !
Route 303 – Honitonafter searching for a very long time for somewhere to take my fiance and 5 month old daughter for Sunday lunch we finally found the swan inn in sidmouth, when we went in after about 5 minutes i was approached by a member of staff and told that i would have to leave straight away as my daughter was not over 14 and also that they had stopped serving food!! even though there were people just being given there food! i WILL NOT be returning here as the staff were rude, the place is NOT CHILD FRIENDLY and they stopped serving at 2pm "apparently"!!
Swan Inn – Sidmouthafter searching for hours to find somewhere to have sunday luch with my fiance and 5 month old daughter and being turned away from somewhere because of the age of my child we came across this pub, i went in to ask if they were still serving and weather my daughter would be aloud in and i was greeted by a very nice member of staff who assured me that yes they were still serving. i had the sausage trio with creamed potato, garden peas and onion gravey where as my fiance had the fish trio with fresh garden vegatables and new potatoes. we both really loved our food and would definitely come back again. the staff were very friendly, the food was lovely, the prices were reasonable but i guess if i had to have one down side i would say that the portions could have been a little larger but all in all a very enjoyable meal. A
Black Horse Inn – SidmouthMy next visit is on the 05/05/2012, cant wait, I arrange for my Sons/Brother/ and Nephew a couple of times a year, my dartmoor days! I hire a minibus/people carrier, and travel to some of the pubs on the moor that I first visited back in the early 70s (when I should have not been drinking) My first visit to Wonson was in 1972! never forgot a fantastic pub! As I said I cant wait! My last visits have been approx noon, this time around we should get there approx 7pm. evening hospitality!! great stuff.
Northmore Arms – OkehamptonWe were a large group and this did not impact on the lovely dinners we had. We found the service to be excellent - not sure how they could have done better. Thoroughly recommend and surprisingly good prices.
Barbican Kitchen – PlymouthWe stopped there for lunch 2 weeks ago. 45mins wait for food, cups dirty, eggs not cooked and charged 80p for a slice of the poorest quality white bread and butter BUT no butter served.... never again
Route 303 – HonitonWe booked the private dining room at 1pm today Sunday 8th April for a party of 11 for my fathers 75th birthday. We chose Southernhay House because we wanted top quality dining for my fathers landmark birthday; he has previously visited Burgh Island and we were looking forward to a similar experience at Southernhay House. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with both the service and the quality of the food and came away wishing that we had booked a different venue. Service was very slow - when we arrived we were left waiting for about 20 minutes and had to ask someone to come and take our drinks order. One of the food orders was wrong - I ordered the breakfast for my son and it was served with a fried egg instead of scrambled and he did not receive a sausage as you had run out.The home made baked beans looked and tasted disgusting. Some of the food was served nearly cold. The yorkshire puddings served with the roast dinner were virtually inedible. The roast dinner itself was not bad but not what we would expect from somewhere that is classified as "fine dining".The toast for the breakfasts had obviously been forgotten and was brought out about 10 minutes into the meal and without butter, which we had to ask for. We asked for someone to come and take another drinks order and were kept waiting for another 15 minutes. Generally, the food and the service was average at best. We complained to the waitress and she did reduce our bill, explaining that they had staffing issues. However, all in all it was a very poor dining experience and not what we expected at all.
Southernhay House – ExeterHave been calling here when it was a "Little Chef" and have continued to call every time we come down to Cornwall its a great place to stop and refuel with great food and service with a smile!!!!
Route 38 – PlymouthLovely little bistro, fresh local produce cooked to order. Great deal on the 2 courses for £10.00 menu. I do recommend!
Whitfields – TorquayI took friends to the newly opened Route 303 on Easter Monday about 5.00 pm.. What a disappointment! The old Newcott Chef on this site was absolutely appalling and anything would have been an improvement but sadly the new diner will have to improve in almost all departments to attract any returning customers. Most of the staff appeared to be untrained and apathetic or just incompetent. The menu sounded appealing (even though it was massively overpriced) but after waiting almost an hour to be served ) even though it was not busy) our food arrived and was obviously mass produced bland and unappetising (not the Real American Food they spoke of on the website). Mushrooms still frozen, chicken not fully cooked, potato skins too hard to eat, coffee weak and lukewarm, milkshake tasteless. I travel on the A303 almost every day and would have loved to say this new diner was worth visiting but it will be a very desperate day if I set foot inside there ever again. I would rather eat road kill.
Route 303 – HonitonWell after stopping at the Newcott Chef, which this diner has replaced I can safely say we will never be frequenting this establishment. Having been delayed in our journey by a badly managed diversion near Mere on the 303, we were delighted to see all the lights blazing and somewhat desperate for both a coffee and a bite to eat and also to use the facilities I ran into the still fairly populated diner and asked if the were serving coffee etc on being told they were closed, I asked if I could use their toilet quickly and was told "no I have turned the lights off". Well thank you, we come along this road quite regularly and have always recommended the previous establishment, we will not be going to this new place ourselves or recommending it. simply courtesy takes little madam,
Route 303 – HonitonAfter reading reviews, we decided to booked Harrys Restaurant for 4, two weeks before. First impression always counts, on arrival my husband approached the gentleman on the bar and assumes we did not booked but realised quickly we did, we were seated on another room, my party thinks this is an overflow room (restaurant still quiet as our table is booked for 7 p.m.) floor dirty with chips and pieces of tissues scatter around. We were reading the board on the wall with menus and drinks and we notice cage on the ceiling with cobwebs and dust. Our orders taken, food warm not hot, the waitress very helpful. Very disappointed with our experience and we will not come back again and will not recommend with friends. City council pls visit and inspect for cleanliness.
Harrys Restaurant – ExeterDisappointing end to a great evening at Theatre Royal followed by meal at Bella Italia. Food was poor. Sea bass probably cooked in microwave. Chef needs to go. Staff were pleasant but fast and keen to close. Such a shame as could be so much better!!
Bella Italia – PlymouthMy wife and I love going on holiday to the US, going to Route 303 reminded us of some fantastic holidays. Great food, really nice servers, and the music was the best. If they sold a CD of the music they played I would buy it!!
Route 303 – HonitonVisited on opening night. Wonderful food, fantastic setting, friendly service with music to remember. Plus a Harley!!! I will certainly be coming back.
