Route 38 – PlymouthFantastic, beautiful home cooked carvery, staff fantastic. Location so clean and friendly. Our favourite place for food and drink BUT you do need to book for Sunday lunch - it's so popular
Ruffwell Inn – Exeteri have eaten there 3 times and the food was plentiful but sadly as with a lot of indian restaurants in England they put heat instead of flavour. chillies rather than spices. the staff were very friendly and the radway beer was excellent.
Sidmouth Tandoori – Sidmouth11a doesn't look anything special from outside but what a great place inside. Well worth a visit for the pizza.
11a Church Street Restaurant and Bar – ExeterReally fresh, delicious fish and warm and light, well cooked and flavoured rice - would have been pleased to receive this sushi in Japan. A cut above several London-based restaurants. Great attention to detail in the dishes, this isn't Japanese food by numbers, was a very pleasurable dining experience over and above satisfying a washoku craving! Had lunch menu - good value. Prawn tempura light and crunchy, generous portion, tofu salad delicate, authentic flavours but showed originality in presentation. Worth seeking out for quality of cooking and ingredients, compares well with other local restaurants in price range.
Steaks N Sushi – ExeterOur party of 5 adults, 4 children went to Route 38 tonight. First class. Great food, great atmosphere, great value. Highly recommended.
Route 38 – PlymouthHighly recommended. Fresh food cooked in groundnut oil! Lovely would travel the 2.5 hours to lynton just to taste the fish and chips again!!!
Esplanade Fish Bar – LyntonFood was excellent, Accommodation more than comfortable, Open log fires, leather sofas and a good beer selection, and all the space around you you could need.Well worth the visit any time of year.
Two Bridges Hotel – Yelvertonwent on 12th Feb. warm welcome rose wine is lovely. huge portions staff friendly and knowledgeable had great time
Shirley Valentine’s Taverna – Plymouth4 of us went here for dinner on 5th Feb. service as always was excellent, surroundings fab and food lovely. Very reasonable prices would recommend
The Mission Cafe Bar and Bistro – PlymouthWow - dropped in for lunch today. Really well looked after. Delicious meal - a chat with the chef and my faddy 4 year old sorted out. Atmosphere clean, fresh and relaxed. Great mix of modern with traditional and some fabulous specials
Kings Arms Bar Bistro – HolsworthyWell what can i say about this place, we have been coming here since it opened back in 2005, be it in the T4 Transporter or on the motorbikes depending on the weather its a great place to come, the staff are great the food is great to can't fault the place love it here, if you come you wont be disappointed.
Route 38 – Plymouthtwo barmaids are pretty rude to the customers but the food is great.
Plymstock Inn – PlymouthI have been here a couple of times for lunch and believe that it's some of the best food and value for money you can get anywhere not just Devon.
Elephant Brasserie – TorquaySaw the write up in the E&E so just had to visit had some fantastic sushi and the service received from Polo & Roey could not have been better. Looking forward to having lunch there again soon. No need to go to Plymouth when we have our very own Japanese restaurant here in Exeter.
Steaks N Sushi – ExeterI have eaten at the Noodle Lounge so many times I cannot remember because it is the highest quality Chinese food I have ever eaten (and that includes Chinatown in New York and London!) Every single person who I suggested visit the restaurant has agreed that it is the most fantastic culinary experience they have had from a Chinese restaurant and if there is a more attentive, friendlier and welcoming host than Johnny I have yet to meet them!
The Noodle Lounge – PlymouthWe had heard that Bistro One had some Game on the menu so promptly booked. To our surprise we were offered Game Soup, Game Terrine, Paupiettes of Pheasant and Haunch of Red Deer. we sampled all of these dishes to great acclaim, wonderful natural flavours balanced with excellent garnishes and sauces. Simple House wine turned out to be an excellent Provence Rouge from Cotes de Ventoux punching well above its weight. I understand that this type of menu will be offered for another month or so so like us if Game is your dish do give Bistro One a try.
Bistro One – PlymouthI love the whole concept of this place - nose to tail eating with the emphasis on seasonal and very local produce. There's some really unusual stuff on the menus and I have never ever been disappointed on the 3 or 4 times I've visited. A proper Devon gem.
