Beautiful Dinner :o)
Fox and Hounds Country Hotel – ChulmleighAn old police station, great menu, smart wine list, this is very refined cuisine, great place for ilfracombe, and we were told the menu changes daily, had great ravioli to start, and a pressed pork belly for main, and a side of truffled cauliflower gratin which is better than a bowl of the lifeless `veg` u get in most places.
La Gendarmerie – IlfracombeI have to say this is a lovely place to eat. The food is always good, the atmosphere is fab and I can highly recommend it
At One Dining Room and Deli – BrauntonThis pub/restaurant is one the of the most welcoming and friendly ever! Three of us spent a weekend up in North Devon and definitely agree that we couldn't have asked for a better 'local' to our campsite! The real ales selection were great, the food was lovely and the people even better...definitely worth a visit..and we'll be back again for sure!
Hele Billys – IlfracombeLocation is great. Food is OK but poncy and not value for money. Worst issue is that all of the staff from front of house down, need to get some serious Customer Facing training. At present - do they care if you are there ? NO !!
Dick and Wills – SalcombeVery friendly staff and pleasant ambience. It's only a short menu (surely a good sign) and the cooking was excellent, BUT this isn't a place to go if you are ravenous. All portions were small and there was no choice of vegetable - it was cauliflower cheese or nothing (unfortunate if you don't happen to like cheese).
La Gendarmerie – IlfracombeGood food and the home roasted gammon was superb, good value. The guy behind the bar was a great laugh. Special offers on. Will visit again.
The Lamb Inn – ExeterDisgusting!!!! We went on Sunday for the carvery. It was £8.95 - what a rip off, the gravy was watery - no taste at all, just brown water, the potatoes were all hard in the middle and had an odd texture. They gave you 2 measly pieces of meat and when half of my slice fell of his fork he wasn't gonna put it back on my plate, i had to ask for it! All frozen rubbish! My hubby had a curry and no exaggeration from ordering to coming to the able it was about 5 minutes - blatantly just put in the microwave. And then he had to go and ask for more poppadoms cs the 2 he had were stale. The whole menu was ridiculously overpriced (jacket potato £8,95, chicken breast and jacket £11.95 etc etc) you wouldnt mind paying these prices if it was fresh home cooked food but it was frozen rubbish! I can honestly say its the worst roast i have ever had!
Cook Island – IlfracombeVery rude
Flames Restaurant – PlymouthI have eaten at this Restaurant twice in 6 weeks and cannot fault it. The decor, food and staff is excellent. They do the usual dishes but also some unusual regional dishes and Chef's specialities. The staff are smartly dressed and polite. Its has been busy both times I have been there which I am so pleased in seeing them doing well considering it is out of the City Centre.
Nibana Indian Restaurant – PlymouthSeriously, this is what an English pub is all about. What's wrong with wanting sausage, egg & chips occasionally? Gastro pubs - my bottom. Quality fun pub frequented by the great and interesting with a brilliantly quirky landlady. Don't miss an opportunity to visit and see what others are failing to emulate.
Northmore Arms – Okehamptonlove da food its so mouth watering and its a good price luv da staff as well
Mutley Spice – PlymouthI was taken to Rodeans last year for a celebratory meal for my 60th birthday, every detail was catered for, it was so special that I am taking my brother and his wife there for their silver wedding anniversary, because I know it will be all that could be wished for for a special event.
Rodean – ExeterWhat a lovely place. The food was amazing - the best steak I have had this side of the Atlantic. Friendly staff and lovely gardens to walk it all off. Recommended and the rooms look fab too!
Fox and Hounds Country Hotel – ChulmleighVery friendly staff. Perfect place for a light bite and a drink in the lovely setting of the Quay at Exeter.
Bishop Blaize The – ExeterI was in Nibana Indian Restaurant over this Easter weekend. I was been told by my hotel that it’s nice restaurant. But I wouldn’t suggest any one to go there. As being an Indian I knew from my first bite that food is with too much of colouring and not right taste. On complain to Manager I wasn’t treated very nicely and been told that we made food here only for WHITE PEOPLE. That shock me a lot because I believe that we all should have right to have know the originality of what we eat. -Tzar
Nibana Indian Restaurant – PlymouthWhat a super place. Highly recommended.
Combe Cottage – IlfracombeFound this place by accident. Driving past it doesn't look anything wonderful, but once you get inside it is totally different. The welcome was great, the food terrific, and the whole atmosphere was relaxed and wonderful. Pricing was very good. Food superb, and one of the best pints of Tribute I've had in a long time. What made it memorable was the pub dog Stitch. So well behaved and those sorry looking eyes. We all wanted to take him home.
