Route 38 – PlymouthNice place in exceptional setting. But there are problems. It is busy, there are not enough staff, everything is slow and parking on this private residential complex is inadequate. It took us nearly an hour and a half to get served.
Seco Lounge – PlymouthThis is one of the hidden food marvels of the west country. Unassuming premises in a bland shopping street hide the best cooked, best value and perhaps the subtlest flavourings of any Indian (Gujurati) and certainly any vegetarian restaurant I have ever come across.
Veggie Perrins – PlymouthWanted to quickly update or 2006 review. The Barrel is going from strength to strength. Luke Hunt has now taken over the management of the Barrel and there is a new chef. The wonderful attention to detail remains and if anything has gotten even better. The food remains wonderful and has actually stepped up a gear. The cuisine is now, daily, on a standard with the dishes that one used to get only on special occasions. Excellent place!
Barrel O’Beer – SeatonVisiting, found Bistro One on Sugarvine. Love Oysters so piled in to 6 Raw and 6 Grilled.Fresh as the sea! Glass of Ashridge Sparkling Cider was the offered match - perfect indeed. New to us we had Paupiettes of Gleanie (Cornish for Guinea Fowl) stuffed with Spinach and toasted Almonds plus Bocaddon Farm Calves Liver with Dry Cured Bacon. The wine recommendation was a Cabernet Sauvignon from Pikes of Clare Valley in S Australia and lovely it was too! Tarte au Citron and Gluten-Free Chocolate and Chilli Cake "finished us off" but not before a glass of Argentinian Late Harvest Torrontes! All simply divine. This is excellently delivered Bistro Cooking showing good value. Surprises on the menu with some off-the-wall wines make it a definite favourite venue to search out. We recommend you do.
Bistro One – PlymouthBrilliant place - eaten there on so many occasions everytime the food has been outstanding. Service is good and the price is good. Probably the best Indian in Plymouth. Going there now!!
Mutley Spice – PlymouthVisiting Torquay for the first time in many years to see a football match with a friend and our two 14 year old sons, we decided to go out for a drink and a bite to eat. The first thing you notice as you walk up little Park Lane is the two pubs at the top. One is the Hole in The Wall and the other is The Devon Arms. The Hole in The Wall is a big olde worlde looking pub with a pretty exterior, but the first thing you notice is a sign declaring "No stag and hen parties"... fair enough we thought before we saw the "No football fans or shirts"... erm ok! We went in the door and walked up to the bar and before we had time to op[en our mouths, the guy behind the bar declared "sorry no children allowed in the bar, unless you're eating!" in a very rude tone. Now my back was up at this point and we decided NOT to eat there after all. We ordered drinks and had to sit outside under the smokers canopy to drink on a fairly chilly night. Now, I don't care how good the food is, if all you faced with rudeness and bad attitude, you can stuff it.
Hole In The Wall – TorquayIve heard good things about your restaurant and finally got to dine with you on monday, the food was great , everything i was expecting and more. we will be back.
Quay 33 – Plymouthhave been to this venue twice in 6 weeks, 1st time with a party of 10, 2nd time with 6 of us. Both times were excellent. The staff are friendly and our food all came out at the same time, large portions beautifully done and reasonably priced. This is the ideal venue for larger groups. I would feel it could be too noisy for an intimate dinner for 2, for example but would recommend them for their service and food quality
Barbican Pasta Bar – PlymouthThe best starters we have ever had in Devon and proper Indian food in Crediton Tandoori. A very cosy atmosphere, very friendly service, and I strongly recommend you to try their food.
Crediton Tandoori Restaurant and TakeAway – Creditonvisited the Mission Saturday lunchtime. i ordered burger and chips, was adv 15 minute wait for burger, had no problem with that at all. partner had pie and veg, only one thing wrong with his meal, carrots were overdone and tasted burnt, so he left them. both of us had OJ to drink, only carton OJ but presented with slices of oranges. ice and black straws. the venue looks amazing, worth going just to check out the decor. also for the girls - toilets are sublime! would go back again in the evening to soak up the atmosphere and have a drink in the lounge area
The Mission Cafe Bar and Bistro – PlymouthVery pleasant hotel in quiet yet convenient location with views to the sea and pleasant gardens. Refurbished Restaurant offering quality food at a reasonable price. Excellent Sunday Carvery Lunch with good choice of meats and vegetables, also plenty of both with Coffee in Sun Lounge afterwards. Went for a family celebration and we were all well pleased also with the friendly and courteous service.
Brasserie 16 at Devoncourt Hotel – Exeteri would definitely eat at this restaurant, it is well worth the money even with the 50 % off, i am going there for a meal tonight again with my nan and auntie to show them what the fantastic experience it is in there, the food is superb
Ganges – PlymouthI believe that the owner of Nibana is a young ambitious third generation, and dynamic businessman, he has been working in several Indian restaurant in several parts of UK since he was a teenager. I haven't taste the food yet, that's because i live in London, but i am sure that the business is booming, because every time i met him i see him driving upgraded and expensive car.
Nibana Indian Restaurant – PlymouthThe staff where warm and friendly. My wife and myself enjoyed the food very much. A Fantastic wine list and all reasonably priced. A little gem, one of the best Indian restaurants in Plymouth.
Mutley Spice – PlymouthHad a great mothers day meal this week end , would always recommend to friends , i've now eaten there several times and find the all round atmosphere ,surrounding and food to be the making of a good evening
Heaven Restaurant Bar and Gallery – PlymouthBest sea food in Plymouth, we love our sea food and now we have found somewhere to go. Great meal, the whole lemon sole is to die for. john & kathy
Quay 33 – PlymouthProbably the worst restaurant I have been to in a very long time! Delays with service (over an hour before we got cold starters), waiting staff with absolutely no idea how keep their customers happy actually quite aggressive in manner. It really is no use taking a booking for 10 people if you can't serve them in a reasonable time. It is also no use blaming the customer for not choosing the set menu. When the main courses did turn up the fish was terribly overcooked and the chicken livers were bloody! Truly disgusted with the service and the food. Will never return!
