Quay 33 – PlymouthDefinitely gone down hill recently, apparently due to the presence of the new head chef, sloppy presentation and over-cooked fish seem to have become commonplace in what used to be one of my favourite restaurants in the area. however, lovely welcoming place to stop by for a pint or glass of wine.
Church House Inn – KingsbridgeBest steak I have had in a very long time! Great value for money, good quality food and a pleasant service. i would definitely recommend this place to my friend for her 40th birthday.
Barbican Steakhouse – PlymouthBrilliant restaurant, booked for 12 ppl, only 9 of us turned up due to snow!!!! Staff were very accommodating, food fantastic -my 40th birthday and they gave me a glass of champers and even hid a cake and brought it out lit with sparklers...so so great in Zizzi, Exeter 10/10 Definitely visit again
Zizzi – ExeterVisited this restaurant for the first time last night. The food was fantastic! My husband had pizza, I had pasta...both wonderful, generous servings and very fairly priced. Reserved but friendly staff. Lovely and warm on a cold winter night, with old stripped wood floors and deep red walls, very welcoming. They also do 'take out' again very fairly priced! We'll definitely be going back soon! We highly recommend!
Il Gatto Nero – Tivertonhoneymoon is a great place to go with friends and family and is a favourite venue of mine (and my friends) for anniversaries and birthday celebrations.a friendly environment that is warm and comfortable with a relaxing ambiance. the service is excellent and the chef is to be compliment. my thanks to the staff for looking after us...we will be back!
Honeymoon Chinese and Thai Restaurant – BarnstapleWe saw a sign on the A303 directing us to The Flintlock Inn, just inside the Devon border. This was a real find. The pub was full of character, with a wood burner and bread oven. The owner was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The staff were attentive and friendly. The french onion soup was the best we'd ever tasted and the Sunday roast was plentiful and truly delicious. We couldn't manage a third course! I always like to check out the toilets to make sure they're of a good standard and these didn't disappoint. They were well decorated, very clean with fresh flowers. I'll be recommend this pub to all my friends and we'll certainly be stopping there again when en route up the A303.
The Flintlock Inn – HonitonI used to be a regular business luncher at Positano's and the food and service is very good. However at weekends on two occasions I have tried to book a table just for two and its been refused because only two are coming or cancelled by them on the day 'because of a mistake'
Positano – PlymouthWhat a great place! Tucked away in the countryside and full of character. The owner has a high reputation already from his previous venue in Torquay and is a master patissier, that's if you have room after a delicious main course and starter. We went in December as a Party for a special and well priced Christmas Menu. Several also stayed over and were also impressed by the accommodation and breakfast. I would like to have taken up their Winter Warmer offer but unfortunately couldn't go in the week due to work commitments. However, I will certainly look forward to making another visit.
The Cridford Inn – Newton AbbotHave a great meal relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Was nice to be able to see the chefs cooking and they have real Thai chefs in the kitchen. There was a cross range of customers from 2 people to a table of 10 or more. It was nice a s my partner is a picky eater and wont try different foods os I had the Thai and he had the American side of the menu so we were both happy. We went at a weekend but will definitely be back! They do 2-4-1 weekdays in the evening so its a cheap night out. Well worth a try.
Tiger Bills Bar Wok Grill – ExeterHere is a small but infinitely friendly Indian Restaurant. Friendliness and welcome abound here but most importantly "The Food". As a regular and frequent Indian food eater Real India provides some of the most delicately flavourful food ever. Even the very hot and spicy dish has subtle and wonderful flavours. Go there!
Real India – ExeterLunch at the Boathouse on a cold wintry day consisted of a chicken pie and chips! Big portions, lovely food, relaxed environment, but good atmosphere as busy but not too busy! Cant wait to try it in the summer in the beer garden looking out to sea!! Good news, dogs are welcome inside as well as out!!!
The Boathouse Bar and Grill – PaigntonLovely atmosphere in the heart of the village. Hosts Nicky and Anthony are very welcoming and friendly. The food is fantastic! I particularly loved the deep fried battered brie starter, then tucked into Dave's (the fab head chef) winter seafood chowder with crusty bread. . . yum. The only problem? I couldn't manage one of the delicious desserts, but don't worry, I'll be back!! Oh and my husband adds "terrific local beers, with guest beers too".
Church House Inn The – Newton AbbotSteak, chips, mushrooms and peas for £4.50 !! and its quality well cooked food - great beer to wash it down with - lots of space, friendly staff - 10/10 .
The Hunting Lodge – IvybridgeYou have really turn this restaurant around, great food, good staff. well done to you all. Regards Peter
Quay 33 – PlymouthThis is a smashing proper pub, with food well deserving the gastropub label but not gastropub prices. Just into January with snow everywhere & the place is packed with locals. We enjoyed Berrow Ale & a great Sauvignon Blanc. The most ridiculously huge, really tasty1/2 shoulder of lamb and Lyme bay scallops with celeriac puree that were sublime, also great staff & great service.

Half Moon Inn – ExeterIf you are ever in the vicinity of Totnes then this is the place to go and eat whether it's for breakfast, lunch or dinner! All the food is freshly prepared and locally sourced so always of top quality. Apart from the scrumptious food there is a very fine wine list with wines of extremely good value. I would recommend The Waterside Bistro to anyone who values great food at good prices.
