The Lamb Inn – ExeterMy boyfriend and I had a lovely meal at Kitley, we took advantage of their reduced rate if you book a table on their website (£5.00 off per person!). The service was brilliant and the food was great for a special occasion! As a venue for a romantic meal it could not be faulted.
Kitley House Restaurant – PlymouthAnother brilliant meal at Lorenzos! This place is such good value, with helpful and friendly staff, we keep going back. Especially when you take advantage of their cinema deal - A tapas (most of which are large portions), a drink and see a film at the Reel cinema next door all for £10! The Chicken Coco, Nachos, Chicken and Date Kebab, Ciabbatta Sandwich, Potato skins, Chilli Poppers.....(the list could go on), are all great. We go so often we should work there. Sangria is great too! Its a cool place for relaxed dining with friends. If you are a large group you can be accommodated upstairs too!
Lorenzo – PlymouthOne of my favourite restaurants, set in a Georgian house you will be warmly welcomed by Linda and John Paul who does the cooking. All the food is freshly cooked for you, you might see John Paul nipping into the garden for there herbs, they only use fresh local produce and it is beautifully cooked and served. They also have a great range of Belgium beer. highly recommended
St Vincent House Hotel and Restaurant – LyntonOne of the best Italian meals I have had in this country and a great atmosphere
Giovanni’s Restaurant – BarnstapleBeautiful home cooked food, English/European served in what was an old butchers shop, with the tiles still on the wall. The deserts are to die for. This restaurant is run by a husband and wife team. Booking advisable, especially if they are away at the races
Angel Restaurant – IlfracombeWe enjoyed a lovely evening meal here, i had a sirloin steak and it was the best i've ever had my partner had a steamed chicken breast in stilton and mushroom sauce and shes not stop talking about it. It was a really friendly place and we wasn't rushed we able to relax, have a drink enjoy our meal at out leisure we'll certainly be going back, recommended to every one that enjoys there food.
Witches Bowl The – DawlishThe Bearslake Inn is just perfect! Atmosphere relaxed & friendly but at the same time with a touch of class. The food is excellent: the chef does justice to all the local produce used. Very good customer care: you feel welcome & special the whole time you are there. We dined there on several occasions & the standards were always high.
Bearslake Inn – OkehamptonMy recommendation is that you dont bother with this Bar. The manageress is very rude and unhelpfull to both paying guests and staff. The ammount of staff for a busy venue is nothing but frustrating. The area means you canot sit outside afterdark.
The Berkeley Bar & Grill – Plymouthbuffet city is excellent value for money, its £5.95 monday - saturday 12-4m and then the price goes up evening/ weekend. I go there once a week with my partner for lunch, the staff are very friendly, the food is good, they have over 70 dishes and you go up and help yourself, you can go up as many times as you like for starter main or pudding.
Buffet City – Plymouththe wah tin serve really nice food, it a really good place to eat at the weekend, but if you go during the week it seems empty and not a very nice atmosphere as the staff are waiting around and feels as though they are watching you eat, but weekends is good after 7pm.its a shame it doesn't get busier during the week as the food is really nice.
Wah Tin – PlymouthAfter being recommended Hooks by a friend in Torquay, I decided to travel down from Exeter to see what all the fuss was about, and i must say the whole experience surprised me... on entry i was greeted by a lovely door host who seated me in one of the most charming parts of the restaurant, overlooking the open plan kitchen... however the fault lied in management. we ordered our food with a very snappy general manager, who acted like he was on something other than just a power trip... the kitchen didn't seem to undetstand what we had ordered (simply a starter as a main) and the general manager attempted to resolve their confusion by shouting at the kitchen staff across the restaurant, when my husband and i (as well as other customers) were trying to relax. our food was incorrect, perhaps because the gm didn't record our order correctly (due to lack of care or concentration) or perhaps because of the kitchen staff's confusion with the order. the food was in fact wholesome and beautiful - the chef did a fantastic job of cooking my steak (eventhough the incorrect size) to perfection! the door host cleared our plates as the general manager seemed to have been too busy swearing at his 'shipmates' over the kitchen - perhaps it was a private joke, however we could hear the taunts crude between them and found it highly unflattering to our evening. the host apologised to us and we asked for our bill the general manager brought us the bill and we asked to pay by card, he shoted at the host to bring him the machine - an unprofessional role for any manager to play. in conclusion, the food was beautiful, the service was brilliant, however the owners should rethink the management, as at most times it seemed like the gm was simply ordering people around and shouting obsenities, which intimidated my husband and i, as well as other near by customers
Hooks – Torquaythe best indian restaurant in torquay the staff cannot do enough for you! the food comes quickly and correctly! the food is gorgeous and not too oily! the restaurants location is perfect if you're going to/from town! the ambience is lovely - with the new fish tank in place, i haven't seen another indian like it! 10/10 everytime i've been...
Mahabharat Balti House – TorquayStaff were very very and flexible when we asked to move around several tables so that we could all talk together. The food, wine and beer were all excellent.
Hele Billys – IlfracombeTop food and enough to feed a small army in each portion. Barbara is a great host and this place really is fantastic on all fronts. Interesting artwork in the gents as well
Hele Billys – IlfracombeWe arrived as a big group of 24 and the service was great. All the food orders came out simultaneously with no mistakes. Food was good value and quality. A very enjoyable evening and we were very well looked after by the staff.
Hele Billys – IlfracombeSpent the weekend in Devon diving. Went to Hele Billys 3 nights on the trot. The service and the food was outstanding every time. The staff were friendly and welcoming with a good sense of humour. Put this on the "must visit list" if visiting the area.
Hele Billys – IlfracombeTwo great meals (Chilli, then half shoulder of lamb) over two nights and traditional puddings. No fancy messing with layers. Good, well looked after, beer too. Always a plus ;-) If the busy night I saw last w/e is anything to go by, booking ahead is recommended too.
