The Mission Cafe Bar and Bistro – PlymouthWow - dropped in for lunch today. Really well looked after. Delicious meal - a chat with the chef and my faddy 4 year old sorted out. Atmosphere clean, fresh and relaxed. Great mix of modern with traditional and some fabulous specials
Kings Arms Bar Bistro – HolsworthyWell what can i say about this place, we have been coming here since it opened back in 2005, be it in the T4 Transporter or on the motorbikes depending on the weather its a great place to come, the staff are great the food is great to can't fault the place love it here, if you come you wont be disappointed.
Route 38 – Plymouthtwo barmaids are pretty rude to the customers but the food is great.
Plymstock Inn – PlymouthI have been here a couple of times for lunch and believe that it's some of the best food and value for money you can get anywhere not just Devon.
Elephant Brasserie – TorquaySaw the write up in the E&E so just had to visit had some fantastic sushi and the service received from Polo & Roey could not have been better. Looking forward to having lunch there again soon. No need to go to Plymouth when we have our very own Japanese restaurant here in Exeter.
Steaks N Sushi – ExeterI have eaten at the Noodle Lounge so many times I cannot remember because it is the highest quality Chinese food I have ever eaten (and that includes Chinatown in New York and London!) Every single person who I suggested visit the restaurant has agreed that it is the most fantastic culinary experience they have had from a Chinese restaurant and if there is a more attentive, friendlier and welcoming host than Johnny I have yet to meet them!
The Noodle Lounge – PlymouthWe had heard that Bistro One had some Game on the menu so promptly booked. To our surprise we were offered Game Soup, Game Terrine, Paupiettes of Pheasant and Haunch of Red Deer. we sampled all of these dishes to great acclaim, wonderful natural flavours balanced with excellent garnishes and sauces. Simple House wine turned out to be an excellent Provence Rouge from Cotes de Ventoux punching well above its weight. I understand that this type of menu will be offered for another month or so so like us if Game is your dish do give Bistro One a try.
Bistro One – PlymouthI love the whole concept of this place - nose to tail eating with the emphasis on seasonal and very local produce. There's some really unusual stuff on the menus and I have never ever been disappointed on the 3 or 4 times I've visited. A proper Devon gem.
Millbrook Inn – KingsbridgeThe Dodbrooke is the best pub in the town and one of the best in the country. Friendly, plenty of locals and holidaymakers, the food is excellent and locally sourced and the beers are immaculately kept with a good variety and interesting guest beers featured every week. Gilly and Mike Dyson are the owners and run the pub so well there is an easy, relaxed atmosphere that belies the hard work that goes in to maintaining the pleasant and enthusiastic alehouse so well.
Dodbrooke Inn The – Kingsbridgewe went recently and the food was lovely. not too expensive and the staff were all very nice, defo going again
Cravings At Onefyfive – IlfracombeAmazin ting man food is like hevan ma bruvas luvs havin curry 4brekii staff r good aswell especially the dude wid da lng black hair finkin he is elvis but its a cool ting blad i give dis 5starz even though i had been there twice but still very good its one of the best restaurants in plymouth and i hope they make one in london blahhhd no long ting
Mutley Spice – Plymouthi recently visited the dartmoor union and i must say the food and the service was the best i have seen in many years ,finally a restaurant who cooks a steak they way you ask for it ! plenty of choices makes it very hard to choose from the starters mains and deserts all fantastic , the staff where friendly ,helpful and polite . a very trendy and cosy pub with a lovely roaring fire with cosy sofas around , refreshing to see a pub with delicious home cooked food . on my next visit i will definitely be back .
Dartmoor Union Inn – PlymouthHighly recommended! I had the lunch deal; two courses for £12, and was absolutely blown away!! Very clean, tidy, relaxing atmosphere. Great, authentic tasting food. Polite and helpful staff. Reasonable prices. Overall a 9/10 experience!
Steaks N Sushi – ExeterVery good service indeed. They've only just opened when we went, so were eager to know how we found it in a nice way. The food was excellently done. The tempura scallops were especially good. They even made a good octopus sushi, which most places fall down on.
Steaks N Sushi – ExeterThis was our 3rd attempt at visiting Exeter branch -1st occasion we has to ask for our food after a 20 minute wait - no apology but it did arrive - 2nd occasion Eggs Benedict hollandaise sauce cold - again - no replacement offered & no action taken - today we used gift vouchers given to us by our 17 year old who works hard to give us such a present - we treated friends who had never been before - so much salt in soup we are all still feeling sick now (salt & water commonly used to used to induce vomiting) - we then ordered a 2nd set of coffees - they never arrived - how many times do u expect us to ask - would we go back again - not even if you paid us - perhaps your staff and managers should try the Jamie Oliver experience - customers are not an inconvenience to be ignored and staff our passionate about their work - they will get our custom when they come to Exeter as they do each time we go to Bath. At least he is using his name to sell a product that delivers.
Carluccio’s – ExeterWe love the quality don't think u can match it any where else in Plymouth/South Hams, the service always friendly. However if you visit the old cottage in the winter make sure you wear extra layers as its very cold brrrr .
Ming – PlymouthWe went to the Cellar restaurant for New Year's Eve (2010). We had a set meal of 8 courses for a spectacular £35 pp. The food was world class. Champagne on arrival, delicious homemade wheaten bread (I'm now officially hooked), they had run out of the crab cakes but with so much choice it was easy to opt for an alternative. I'm so glad we did...the homemade caramelised onion and goats cheese tartlet was just scrumptious. One of our group had the smoked salmon and another had the homemade red pepper/garlic/tomato soup...all of which were as good as each other. Then the melon sorbet palette cleanser was absolutely delicious. The flavour of the cantaloupe melon really came through and was just a complete joy to taste. For main course 2 of us had the venison and 2 had the fillet steak...oh my goodness my taste buds were ecstatic. The venison was so tender and the sauce it was served with was absolutely delicious...all these dishes truly were world class and would not be out of place in the best dining houses of the finest hotels around the world. Chef Brian and his lovely wife Polly are sitting on a little gold mine here. They have that unique combination of fantastic homemade food of professional standard, warm, friendly and inviting atmosphere, making every customer feel like a personal friend and the all important value for money with affordable prices. What more could you want? This really is THE BEST RESTAURANT IN TIVERTON BY FAR...and when you visit, you simply MUST try Brian's homemade sticky toffee pudding...it has to be tasted to believed and I defy anyone to say that they have tasted better anywhere else! Well done Polly and Brian and thank you for making us feel so welcome. We are proud to say we are now going to be firm regulars
