Waterside Bistro – TotnesOne of the best finds on the map in the s devon coast area. The biggest surprise to shaldon visitors is to find a restaurant of this calibre outside London. Four of us feasted on squid and scallops, some of the best fish we had ever eaten, and the local fabulous beef. Wonderful complimentary appetiser, and homemade hoummous, plentiful excellent wine, and a bill that did not cause a heart attack - we will be back !
ODE Restaurant – TeignmouthOne of the best places to taste a specials menu ! My only concern is that the ''Menu'' is west country based/themed but it has Moroccan chicken, lots of welsh dishes and tons of cheese and mash potato. Rooms are lovely and worth the money and the hotel is not slap bang in the city centre
Fishbone Restaurant and Bar – PlymouthThe food as usual was very fresh and delicious. It is my fave place in Plymouth!
Village Restaurant The – PlymouthI was celebrating my 30th birthday and we had a fantastic time. I was sent a complimentary birthday shooter with a sparkler and the atmosphere was 'party'. The food was plentiful and good value for money, the staff very helpful. The cocktails are fantastic i could not make up my mind so the bartender made me a special one. There is a very stylish Lounge bar downstairs which is table service, very chic and exclusive and a refreshing change from all the circuit bars.
Starz Bar and Restaurant – Exeteras i live in town i spend quite a bit of times in the local pubs, and having been in every pub in town the Old Market in undoubtedly has the best atmosphere than the rest. the staff are always smiling and laughing and not only doing a great job but half the time entertaining the customers as well. Definitely the best beer in the town and the new karaoke nights seem to be a hit with the locals, and every one seems to enjoy themselves. great idea and hopefully it will continue as a Market tradition
Old Market Inn – HolsworthyI love this place! it's my favourite restaurant and me and my boyfriend make an effort to come here once a month! the creme brulee and chocolate fondant are to die for and they have a great selection of yummy starters and main dishes. The service is so friendly also. I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone!
B.E.D! – Plymouthi went with my partner for lunch weather was hot so we only went for a light bite. but i wanted to mention the quality of the desserts my partner a selection of sorbets and ice creams a selection of four all with fabulous fresh flavours you cant buy quality like that elsewhere. and i had the passion fruit assiette , a wonderfully light mousse melt in the mouth texture and remarkable flavour, a fantastic sorbet that cut through the tart like nothing i can describe they were truly remarkable and memorable. when we asked who had created such amazing treats we were told the pastry chef -Scott Paton is only nineteen ... WOW what a talent.
Jack In The Green Inn – ExeterCalled in on a sunny day recently whilst on route to Devon, I had heard a buzz about this place. I took lunch of Moules frites at the al fresco area at the back of the pub, a lovely area with big umbrellas and an amazing view of the rolling countryside. The food was very good and the wine list a revelation. I can really recommend this place if your in the area or travelling along the A30 to stop off here.
Harris Arms – OkehamptonHad a lovely meal with my boyfriend recently. Am a veggie and get sick of the usual "veggie lasagne or veggie bake" so was refreshing to have a tasty dish of filo pastry with creamy filling, mushrooms and other yummys, served with baby pots. Was very good, oh and really nice wine too.
Cafe Rouge – PlymouthA most enjoyable evening spent at Sails. From the moment we walked in the door we were welcomed by a very friendly and effecient staff, to the wonderful and interesting food cooked to a very high standard. Went on the recommendation of friends who live in Brixham and we were not disappointed. 14/4/07
Sails Restaurant – DartmouthAlthough the Dartmoor Union Inn does serve hearty English food in the pub area, its restaurant caters for a more refined taste. Hidden in the small village of Holbeton, hardly noticeable from the outside (we had to ask locals to point out the pub), the place is a gem. Excellent, prompt and friendly service. They serve beer brewed in their micro brewery, visible from the al fresco area. The food is absolutely fabulous. The menu looks classic, but every dish still is imaginative, using local produce cooked of a standard seldom encountered in the Southwest. What a find!
Dartmoor Union Inn – PlymouthThis pub has been transformed over the last year and is now a lovely place to eat. We went for sunday lunch and it was the best pub roast dinner I have ever had - all prepared with fresh local ingredients, the beef was cooked to perfection was pink in the middle. The Manager, Steve was the perfect host and along with the owners has created a welcoming atmosphere that thrives on being busy.
Anchor Inn The – SidmouthI was looking for a nice Italian Restaurant to celebrate a family birthday on a short break to Torquay. In the absence of any reviews I chose Biancos and what an excellent choice it proved to be. Biancos is a small, intimate restaurant close to the harbour. The quality of the food is superb (both fish and meat dishes sampled) and the portions are more than ample! The staff were very attentive, even peeling the King prawns for my 10 year old son to allow his mother to commence her starter in peace. I have rated Biancos as "pricey" but this was largely due to an expensive bottle of wine selected and overall it was very good value for money. If we return to Torquay we will certainly be heading for Biancos.
Bianco’s Ristorante Italiano – TorquayAn excellent restaurant friendly staff and the food is gorgeous!
Mutley Spice – PlymouthThe decor and atmosphere is pretty standard of any Indian restaurant. The food is excellent and the staff are friendly. My only comment is that I've been back quite a few times and the manager does recognise us and comes across friendly enough but also quite dismissive.......and they don't seem to reward loyalty. Still the food is good and it is the best Indian I've had in Plymouth
Spice Well – PlymouthThe clovelly in is a lovely family run village pub. Very welcoming and friendly faces. Very good pub grub.
Clovelly Inn – Okehamptonmy regular indian love abit of the curry in a friday night after work its great there food is spot on
