I went here for a family meal a few months ago and was really impressed. The staff are extremely friendly and the food impeccable. Really authentic Italian food.

Positano – PlymouthI think this could be the best restaurant in Plymouth! The service was flawless and had a really great atmosphere even on a Tuesday night which was surprising. The sirloin was cooked to perfection and was melt in the mouth. I could not fault the place.
Artillery Tower – PlymouthWent here last Saturday and a very good dinner, there is a new chef and the restaurant has been recently refurbished to a high modern standard but still in keeping with the pub. As well as the menu they had a good choice of specials. My wife had the haloumi kebabs and I had pheasant breast stuffed with black pudding sage, both were excellent. Service was quick and very pleasant.
Thorverton Arms – ExeterThis is the finest Indian Restaurant I have visited for a long time, small, friendly and very welcoming, a pleasure to dine here, the staff are excellent, and so is the food, the place to eat!
Real India – ExeterHave visited this place many times over the years but have seen a steady decline in the service provided, there are long waiting times between courses. The food is excellent, from the game starters to the heavenly and very original desserts, the menu is one of the best in Plymouth. The staff are also very polite and helpful. However on our last visit we had to wait over an hour for dessert to arrive. Our waitress apologised several times, but we haven't returned since.
Artillery Tower – PlymouthWe have been visiting Tavistock for more than 20 years and ate here many years ago but wasn't impressed then. My father heard that new owners had turned the place around and we decided to give it another go. We weren't disappointed! Wonderful olde world atmosphere, warm as toast inside, polite staff (with a sense of humour) and superb food. Our steaks were like cushions! Lovely to have touches such as real linen napkins, crackers as it was near to Christmas and red wine glasses you could fit a whole bottle in! We'll definitely return - Thank you.
Bearslake Inn – OkehamptonWhen we were having a short break in Devon last year we found this wonderful Italian Restaurant in Paignton ,The food ,service and ambience was like nothing i have ever tasted before, This was truly the best Italian food we have ever had, we have been back again and it was outstanding,We will always go back each time we are in Paignton
Quo Vadis – PaigntonDear Sir after hearing some positive reports on the Blue Ball Inn at Sandygate and watching as good quality food was being served in a nice ambience, I decided to give it a try. Good luck, after phoning approximately 10 times, during opening hours and not receiving an answer, after waiting for minutes at a time, I decided to give up. Very poor service, an answerphone may have been helpful!!
Blue Ball Inn – ExeterThe Boathouse's situation right on the beach is the reason to enjoy either a meal, a snack or just a coffee here, any time of year. There are regular fish specials on the board, ranging between £12-£15 and a good selection of pastas, salads, pizzas and snacks. The Atlantic Seafood pizza with scallops is reason enough to visit, as are the salads. Main courses are generous, however for the sweet toothed visitors desserts are sadly less so, though equally yummy. Cheesecake should only come in one size - large. There's an excellent range of coffees and teas and watching the sea and occasional surfers at the right time of the year makes this eatery very enjoyable indeed.
The Boathouse Bar and Grill – PaigntonI've been here several times and tried a range from the tasty authentic menu. Special offers Sunday - Thursday are a 3 course meal for £7.99. You can bring your own bottles and there's no corkage charged, or buy from the restaurant's very generous bar! Ideally situated on the Torquay Road in Preston, parking is quite easy to find and it's on the bus route. However, it is a little quiet, particularly until 9, which is great if you want to enjoy your meal without too much background noise, but you aware of the Waiter at all times.
Tandoori Nights – PaigntonNot at all good. Cold food of very indifferent quality and decidedly poor value for money. Overall, it is a feeble pastiche of decent 'trendy' places that manage to get it right. I get the impression this pub is trying to elevate itself into the realms of being some kind of serious 'eatery'. It fails ... abysmally!
Kents The – TorquayThoroughly enjoyed the experience.Want to visit again soon.Made me feel at home.Food was plentiful and wholesome.
Black Horse Inn The – ExeterA little hidden gem with lovely food and a warm friendly atmosphere. Has a hidden walled garden which is ideal on a warm summers day
Rendezvous 10 Wine Bar – ExeterOde is awesome. The produce is first class, mostly local and much organic, and chef Tim cooks beautifully without unnecessary embellishments or tricks. Local hand dived Lyme scallops with pork belly were stunning, such a good combination, and the venison I had was melt-in-the-mouth and cooked to perfection. I also tasted the Crediton duck which again was stunning and drank a really beautiful organic Dolcetto. The staff are really nice too and knowledgeable in a totally unstuffy way so all in all highly recommended. Really was the best meal I’ve had in 2007.
ODE Restaurant – TeignmouthI really enjoyed in meal here. You can tell that the food is very fresh and local. I had the scallops to start followed by the monkfish. I could not fault either.
Village Restaurant The – PlymouthStarters were good (a little bit of everything)mains were also well presented (steak a little overdone but then again how blue is blue) overall an enjoyable experience until the bill arrived. I will not return as this was not reasonable let alone value for money.
Frankie and Bennys – PlymouthThe muscles starter was exceptional, the flavour of the sauce intensified the dish to such an extent the flavours bursted in your mouth. We had different mains, the lamb was deliciously soft with excellent flavour and the caldron of fish was another dish with a fantastic sauce complementing the dish well. Service was very intimate as we were the only people in the restaurant which was surprising with such great fair on offer. Would recommend and we will be back!
Chloe’s Restaurant – PlymouthWhen this place first opened, the food was really good, the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was really funky, but it's slid into a decline since then. There is a very small group of regular staff and a lot of changes with the young people who don't really want to be there. The food that was good, now tends to be over proportioned and not cooked as it should be. The sauce bottles are refilled, rather than changed, which means you're in effect chucking on traces of really old sauce onto your food (it's probably just me, but I find that gross). It's now become simply a truckers stop - you eat and go as quick as you can, so it doesn't matter too much what gets served up as you'll probably won't be back in the area again to complain!
