The Art of Tea – DidsburyThis place has not got any customer service my daughter placed a order and because the person taking the order did not understand what she wanted he started shouting down the phone at her now if you dont understand when a customer is ordering food from your constabulary then he should of gave the phone to someone who could understand I would not recommend this place to anybody as when the food came it was cold and she asked for a chicken burger and got chicken cut up into pieces and put on a so called nap that was falling to pieces so please be advised avoid this place like the plague I am not going to order from here ever again and that goes for my family members and friends it is that bad I thank you for reading this review.
Khans Kebab House M20 – DidsburyAfter ringing and asking if you could do me an omelette I travelled down with a friend after booking to be told you could not do as I had asked an SF to be honest the man was very rude so thankyou very much
The George Charles – DidsburyLovely modern Thai restaurant. I popped in for lunch and had Jaren Chicken in a gorgeous broth! Highly recommended!
Jarern Kitchen – DidsburyDelicious food and really friendly staff- great service! They also treated me on my birthday which was a lovely surprise! We were there for wine and cheese night which was great.
The George Charles – DidsburyA real treat of a neighbourhood bar. Open almost all day everyday for coffee and cake through brunch, the cocktail hour and evening food. It’s informal, cozy with interesting beers, Cocktails, a small but good wine list and friendly staff. All the things you could ask for. Oh, and it’s dog friendly too. At dusk, it’s candle lit and charming. Love it.
The George Charles – DidsburyGood food but disappointed that at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon they had no chicken or beef Sunday roast.
The George Charles – DidsburyLovely food, great service, in a friendly and lively atmosphere.
The George Charles – DidsburyCame for Sunday Lunch yesterday and the food was lovely. There were 6 of us and we are 50/50 meat eaters / veggies. You have a good choice for veggies and my only suggestion (very minor) is to have something like a veggie sausage option with the Sunday Roast. Veggie loaf / nut roasts etc arnt always everyone choice. We'll be back again soon, please give this place a try and its really cool.
The George Charles – DidsburyCame on Christmas Eve had the Christmas menu we all really enjoyed the food we were looked after by the staff excellent night.
The George Charles – DidsburyBooked for a friends Christmas meal, we all had a different dish from the menu and absolutely loved the food. A mix of traditional and unique meals. Good portions, really tasty, delicious! The staff were welcoming and attentive.
The George Charles – DidsburyI have attended for several larger work's gatherings downstairs, in the cosy room available for private booking, and have had quick lunches or drinks upstairs. Most recently had a Christmas do with the added bonus of some carol singers! Whatever the occasion, the food has always been great and the ambience very welcoming. Staff team, Clare and James to name two , are always very friendly and helpful. Definitely one of the best in West Didsbury in my opinion. Amanda & friends
The George Charles – DidsburyBeen to the George Charles for the 2nd year running for a works Christmas dinner, excellent food, great portions and a really good selection for set menus. Staff are really helpful and the booking process was extremely easy. More than likely be back in 2020!
The George Charles – DidsburyYesterday was my first visit to your restaurant , although my two guests has been before . The ambience of the place was goods , I enjoyed it . The service was warm , friendly and efficient . My two guests enjoyed their choices from the menu. I was less pleased . I went for tradition fish , chips and mushy peas. This fish was ok , but the external batter was poor though . The chips were particularly disappointing ! I think they had been warmed up from yesterdays left overs !!! They certainly were not freshly cooked . When it came to paying the bill , I presented my debit card. Once in the machine the first thing that appears is a request to give you a tip !! PLEASE , can you and other restaurateurs stop trying to embarrass people into leaving a tip . People will leave a tip if the like what they have received. Just for the record , my son did leave you a generous tip.
The George Charles – DidsburyA group of 5 of us had what is turning out to be our annual Christmas gathering at the GC yesterday - we had originally wanted to be in their lovely basement but the manager had reserved a table for us upstairs when a party booked it. The atmosphere was great upstairs, and the staff really made an effort to serve us promptly and check back regularly to see if we needed more drinks or anything was missing. The Negronis we ordered had to be made with Aperol rather than Campari as the manager said they had run out, but they tasted pretty darn good anyhow. The house wine is excellent and really well priced. Finally, I ordered the vegan stroganoff, which was full of delicious wholegrain rice, chunky veg and gerkins, beautifully spiced and served spilling out of a 'plant pot' wrap. Basically the best stroganoff I had ever eaten. The meat eaters all had a huge pile of brown and white meat with all the trimmings for their Turkey dinner, so they were pretty happy too. The chef definitely knows what he's doing! Thanks to the whole team - we will certainly be back next year :)
The George Charles – DidsburyWe had a roast dinner here last Sunday. The staff were really friendly and we had one of the best Bloody Mary's we've tasted in a long time. Really good value at £7.50. We both had the roast beef and the honey glazed chipolatas. The roast is a good-sized portion with a nice selection of veggies. Unfortunately, we felt the beef was over-cooked, sliced too thick making it tough and almost tasted steamed rather than roasted. I think we were given end pieces as well which was disappointing. The chipolatas were also not great, lacking colour and tasted a bit like cheap sausage, to be honest. Finally, and this is a pet peeve and not unique to here, throughout our entire meal at peak lunchtime there was a member of staff cleaning and sorting cutlery. It's loud to the point of being obnoxious and ruins what would otherwise be lovely ambience.
