Great food, nice atmosphere. Best of all - the waitress! Lovely smile, helpful and attentive. It makes such a different going to a restaurant and made to feel looked after.

Cachumba's menu is 'world' rather cuisine from one fixed country, but the underlying element in all dishes is deliciously spicy, whether it be Sri Lankan, Malaysian, Indian, or Moroccan. The food is simple and exquisitely tasty, and moreover a treat for vegetarians; a selection of three dishes, khoubz bread (a flat bread much like roti, but drier like pitta) is enough to satisfy and silence two people with only 'mmm' and the sound of licked fingers passing between you. The Ugandan Mtoki (fried green banana, as a savoury dish, in a spicy sauce) is a delicate treat. We also sampled a beautiful Coconut lentil curry dish, and a darkly rich aduki bean curry. Those of you who prefer meat and fish can select from prawn, chicken and lamb dishes that my carnivore pals have always found finger licking good. All desserts are home made and include a selection again of world items (kulfi, halva) and also include stodgy Brit faves with an Asian twist (Mango and Berry Crumble), or just total Brit-ness (Sticky Toffee Pudding and custard). The environment is unpretentious, cosily lit, but one criticism - it is always FREEZING COLD. Which is why we prefer the take-away service.

I lived in W Didsbury from 1997 - so used to eat at the Metropolitan a lot. It used to be great. I have been back there twice recently - once for drinks on a Friday night (never again it felt like a Yates' pub except a lot dearer). I also had lunch there midweek. I had the Metro burger. This used to be excellent. However, it came on a "value" bun & the bacon was what can only be described as flaccid. Not the gastropub fare that it used to be. Overpriced and resting on it's laurels.

I went to Greens for a Saturday lunch with my husband who is vegetarian and my 3 year old daughter. I have to say that I was not impressed by the person who greeted us. He looked at my child as if she was going to be a problem, which I was surprised about given that they have a children's menu. I would also point out that my daughter was extremely well behaved and quiet. On the plus side the food was marvellous and I would definitely visit again, but the welcome on this occasion left a lot to be desired.

I haven't been to The Metropolitan to eat in a long time. I used to drink here all the time from when I was at University up until I left the area a few years ago. After returning to Manchester, I went to meet up with some friends for a meal. I was surprised by the menu. i was expecting pub grub but it was more like a fine dining experience. The choice was vast, the food delicious and the service smiley and efficient. I would definitely reccomend it. Think we're even having our Christmas reunion here this year.

We eaten at this place last friday evening,15/10/10,3 off us. Got two starters to share,very nice lamb shashlik,and a fish starter. Very poor service,my son asked for a drink that never arrived,we asked again and got it,my wife asked for a jug of water,never got it,the worse was when the waiter dropped a meal of lamb handi on the table,they did not change the dish and just put a napkin over the mess on the table.We was never offered another meal,they just took the dish away then brought it back! What lamb handi was left in the dish was very nice but the service was very poor.also they had no slimline tonic to go with my wifes gin,overall i would say the food is okay,but the service was very poor and i will not be returning in a hurry.they did not even offer a discount.

Went with my wife last Friday on the strength of recommendations here and was very disappointed. They were very busy (7.30pm) and the staff were on a mission to get us fed and out the door asap from the word go. The menus had food from previous diners in between pages (yuk!) and once we had prised them open it was pretty standard fare. The poppadoms were actually very good and not the standard ones that are generally brought in. Starters (bhaji and samosas) were OK but both our mains were were the wrong side of average. I had chicken chat phat off the specialities section and my wife had lamb jalfrezi both were frankly horrible and we both left 50% + and we weren't questioned by the waiter as to why. the place couldn't handle the volume of people dining that night which may explain the poor quality but I won't ever return

Visited for the first time a couple of nights ago. Went in on the off-chance with no expectations. There were 5 of us and every main & starter was delicious. Innovative dishes and great flavour combinations - all cooked very well. Service was great - friendly but not too much. Food wasn't slow but wasn't super fast either which is perfect for me. Price was right/value for the quality of the meal. Would def recommend and will be returning.

Delicious food and warm and friendly service by well dressed staff! The best night out I have had for a long time. A place I will definitely recommend to family and friends.

Looks nothing from the outside- but the food was absolutely delicious and very different from other food I had eaten before. Very simple setting, relaxed atmosphere. I also enjoyed being able to take my own wine with me to drink.

This is the email I sent to Bistro West 156 last week: Hello, Just a quick email to say how great your food was last night. I had the squash and chorizo soup, steak on a bed of saute potatoes and sticky toffee pudding. The soup was possibly the best I've ever had. The steak was delicious 'again with chorizos' which combined with the salad beautifully. The desert was extremely sweet and rich, but was toned down really well with the ice cream. Delicious food, friendly service (not the fastest but excellence takes time), and reasonably priced. Keep up the great work! I'll definitely be coming again. Thanks again, Tom Ps. You have my vote for Ramsey's next Best Local Restaurant.

They do a really substantial and gorgeous veggie breakfast, making the effort to have veggie black pudding. Full English breakfast was fab with additional, triumphal potato cake. Service lovely. Would definitely come again.

Absolute hidden gem! Incredible food and delightful service.

I have been to many restaurants and this rates very highly. For starters you have got to try Rani Chicken ( my family used to share various starters but as everyone used to go for this we all order it now) along with a helping of mahmocha (little dumplings with a spicy sauce). All the main meals are good! Nan bread is also fantastic,

Moon restaurant wilmslow rd m20...................absolutely fantastic....food and staff as well as the price. They even do a great take away. We have been going here for some time now and we would NOT go any where else..................5 star plus.
