Jem and I Bar and Grill – DidsburyI took my mother here recently for her birthday on the special 3-course deal. We had the most wonderful evening and the food was very tasty. I have lived around Didsbury all my life and never ventured down the cobbles but now I wish I had! The staff were lovely, the chef's very professional in their open kitchen and the restaurant itself was a lovely little hidden gem! I have family visiting me very soon and I can't wait to show them this place. Well done No.4!
No. 4 Dine and Wine – Didsburywe've been regulars for 10 years and have never found a Nepalese/Indian restaurant better than this, raj and niel welcome you as if you were family and the food caters for every ones palet the gurkali chicken is the tastiest curry in Manchester ,forget rusholme get in the gurka you'll love it ...
Gurkha Grill – DidsburyMe and my Boyfriend visited The Lime Tree for a special Valentine's day meal and we were certainly not disappointed. Upon arrival we were seated swiftly. The service was very friendly and prompt throughout the whole meal. The cost of the meal was very reasonable at £45 per person for 4 courses. Menu choices was of a wide variety. We will definitely be making another trip back to The Lime Tree and have already recommended this restaurant to all our friends. :0) Christine and Karl
Lime Tree – DidsburyAladdin restaurant has a great menu serving excellent food, the staff are very friendly. Value for money and busy, but shows you they serve great food. I would go back again. If you have never been a visit is a must..
Aladdin – DidsburyPopped into Greens last night, happy to find out they had a fixed priced menu deal on (which isn't why we went), great choice, superb food. The flavours were excellent, and the portions sizes amazing particularly for a fixed priced menu. The meat eater amongst us, who was rather sceptical about going to a vegetarian restaurant, loved the tomato pepper and leek soup and thoroughly enjoyed the chickpea, potato and pea red Thai curry. The desserts were divine! If I had to improve anything then I wouldn't have gone for the house white and the waiters could've cracked a smile and showed a little more enthusiasm, but it didn't affect our visit and with the price of the overall bill, well, you simply cannot complain.
Greens – DidsburyWe had a meal here tonight, they have extended their restaurant. We found the food very tasty and fresh, although did not like the customer service including wait for service.
Great Kathmandu – DidsburyWent to Crazy Wendys last night for a birthday doo. It was our first visit. The whole karaoke/singing/ dancing atmosphere was great, but the food was terrible and very expensive for what we got. You could hardly move as it was packed to the square inch with people. We were sat near the door, which was extremely unfortunate in November as it was FREEZING with everybody coming in and out and going for cigerettes.... won't be going back to Wendys....
Crazy Wendys – DidsburyI just had lunch at Jem & I on Saturday during the lunch express and was looking forward to eating their since it was recommended by many friends for the food. I was very disappointed by the quality of the food. My partner and I have been out to many meals at different restaurants and haven't experienced food that we weren't happy with. We ordered the gnocchi and the rissotto. We did not even finish the food we ordered. The gnocchi was something that we could have easily gone to Aldis to buy the ingredients and make. The rissotto was very salty and had a small portion size. When are plates were taken away we were never asked at any point how are meal was. We will not be returning or recommending this place to anyone.
Jem and I Bar and Grill – DidsburyIt's over 12 months since we ate here. Thoroughly enjoyed it last 3 occasions. Oh dear! visited 20/10/09 standards have dropped considerably. Food was just ok NOT amazing as previously also little touches like a dead plant on the window sill in ladies loo don't make a good impression. Always have recommended that friends & family visit Jem & I but won't be in too much of a rush to send people there now. Very average sadly
Jem and I Bar and Grill – Didsburyvery very good,if a little pricey,overall a very pleasurable experience,recommended
Jem and I Bar and Grill – DidsburyThe best chinese food I have ever eaten bar none - its prices are slightly higher than your typical chinese, but that reflects the portions and sheer quality of each dish. Add to that the luxurious decor and cosy lighting which is all to often missing from chinese restaurants, plus great service - I cannot recommend this place enough!
Laughing Buddha – DidsburyAbout the best food I've had out for ages in South Manchester, including far more expensive restaurants. It's a plain, smallish room, friendly and informal, and run by nice people. The menu isn't large (a good sign) but everything they do is really topnotch, full of taste, fresh and zingy. Seven of us ate mid-week this evening (£17.50 for three courses) and amazingly not one dish was a dud.
Bistro West 156 – DidsburyMy partner and I visited Bistro West 156 last night for the first time. Wow! It was a beautiful evening and we sat outside. The restaurant is small and quaint and the food was outstanding. Big portions and excellent value for money. You MUST try it
Bistro West 156 – DidsburyThe food is fantastic and there is a great value for money menu available too. It's relatively modern and always pretty full. It even has a car park which in Didsbury is pretty rare. However, the service is quite possibly the worst I have ever received. Drinks were slammed down, starter plates weren't cleared until the end of the meal, noone checked that the meal was ok or offered the chance to reorder drinks. The table was wiped down onto my lap and both of the waiters that 'served' us were unbelievably rude. I would never return here but would try the takeaway next door as the kitchen is shared.
Khandoker – Didsburythis is without doubt the best cafe in south manchester. the coffee is first class and the food is fresh and tasty, add to that the fact that the staff are welcoming and you have a great little hideaway in didsbury.....tell all your friends
Thyme Out Delicatessen – DidsburyThis isn't so much a recommendation, rather an honest opinion. Sajna are very hit and miss in my experience. The pizza's have been massively undercooked before and much of the menu is unavailable for order. Beef burgers have never been available each of the times i've attempted to order them! The staff are nice enough though, but once again sadly, the prices aren't anything to write home about. The (obvious) amount of money spent on the waiting area would have been better spent on the ordering of the unavailable ingredients.
Sajna Indian Kitchen – DidsburyWent last Sunday evening, really great atmosphere, friendly staff and fantastic food!
Pinchjos – DidsburySet Menu: 2 courses, £16; 3 courses, £20 (available Tuesday to Thursday from 5.30pm)
