Sangam 2 – Didsburyinteresting and inventive specials board, with the jamaican fish stew being paticularly delicious, but with food of this quality (and price - youre talking city centre, not suburbia here) a suitably adventurous wine list is required (someone who knows how to make a G + T wouldnt go amiss either)
Saints Bar and Kitchen – DidsburyVisted yesterday. Food continues to be very good with an excellent selection of meze starters. The restaurant now operates a minimum £15 per head cover charge so isnt as cheap as it used to be.
Aladdin – DidsburyI'm a, soi-disant, curry connoisseur (aren't all Mancunians nowadays?). With that in mind I went to Great Kathmandu on Valentine's Day with high hopes, though tempered by the potential (and likely) let down. How wrong I was! The food is superb; being of the highest quality, the sharpest taste and the right amount. The service was fine, I suspect on a normal day (anything but February 14th) it'd have been excellent. The ambience is the same. It was extremely crowded and, even though we'd booked, we had to wait 30 minutes for a table. If you haven't been to Great Kathmandu - go. If you have been, then why aren't you there now? Sheesh.
Great Kathmandu – DidsburyHighly recommended for great food and friendly staff. Can be a bit pricey unless you go for the early doors menu . (3 courses for £15)
Lime Tree – DidsburyWonderful food with dishes you don't often find. Unfortunately the restaurant is let down by its close packed tables.
Gurkha Grill – Didsburynot what we planned for a romantic night out, but good food!
Cachumba – DidsburyThe decor is unpretentious but stylish, the menu comprehensive & reasonable and the proprietor has a genuine love of the culture & food. The atmosphere was relaxed and intimate and the food excellent. We will definately be making this a regular haunt.
Laughing Buddha – DidsburyBeen many times. Lovely Food and friendly service. Looking forward to a great night this Friday with a few friends.
Sangam 2 – DidsburyHave been a loyal customer of the Gurkha Grill for many years, and the refurb was long overdue. The food is always very good, however it seems since they have expanded the prices have also. The last 2 times we went the service was awful, the restaurant has almost doubled in size but with no increase in waiting staff.
Gurkha Grill – DidsburyNandos is my favourite restaurant of all time. Myself and my Girlfriend visit regulary as the food there is absolutley addictive. the food is always hot and the sauce is always gorgeous and once you start eating you simply cant stop and just have to have more and more. I have never had any problems finding a table and the staff are always willing to help in anyway they can. nandos is a cracking little place to eat drink and be merry and is a sure fire hit to anyone with taste.
Nando’s – DidsburyThe portions make the prices very reasonable. After finally finishing my wild mushroom starter, I never got close to finishing the main course! Well recommended
Bistro West 156 – DidsburyAlways a great experience! Have been several times in the past 12 months and have never been disappointed. I like to save it for special occasions although would love to dine there every weekend!
Lime Tree – Didsburyrude staff nice food
Jade Garden – DidsburyA really well thought out menu of good, simple well done food. The roast pork is excellent and I too thoroughly reccoment the chocolate desert. Really generous portions of god quality food.
Bistro West 156 – DidsburyThe set menu early in the week is excellent value for money. However, meals on Friday/Saturday can soon become more expensive. The quality of the food and surroundings is very good no matter when you eat there. There are some interesting wines on the list, and usually a blackboard special well worth trying.
Bistro West 156 – DidsburyI often eat at Nandos before going to the cinema. I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a table, and find that the food is always delivered promptly. Their jugs of cocktails are gorgeous!
Nando’s – DidsburyNice pub, service quite slow and prices high - esp drinks
Didsbury, The – DidsburySet Menu: 2 courses, £16; 3 courses, £20 (available Tuesday to Thursday from 5.30pm)
