Indiana – DocklandsMy family and i always go to 'The Tale Of India' The food there is extremely delicious! specially the 'chicken noorjahani' dish and the'Lamb jaleshory' dish. I would recommend anyone that goes there to try those two dishes as you will not be disappointed!(if you like spicy)
Tale of India – DocklandsI LOVE this restaurant!! I've been at least 20 times in 2 years and will continue to frequent this restaurant. It's amazing, it has beautiful river views, a chilled restaurant vibe where you can have a quiet romantic dinner or a fun dinner with friends with amazing service, fantastic food and all for such great value! I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion and if you fancy a good Indian meal!
Memsaheb On Thames – DocklandsI eat at the tale of India restaurant regularly and I enjoy it. The food is perfect and the staff are very friendly. I recommend this restaurant to anybody who enjoys a great meal.
Tale of India – Docklandsyum yum
Wings Buffet – DocklandsWe were looking for a lunch buffet to eat at for our end of term since we were sick of the Pizza Hut buffets. We decided to try something new and Dad recommended Wings Buffet. It wasn't hard to find - quite close to the Westferry DLR station, and after we went in, a moderately-helpful waiter guided us to a non-smoking table for eight. The drinks selection was limited, but we weren't there to drink anyway. The atmosphere was very casual, no fancy decorations or anything to make it look more Chinese than it should be. The staff were helpful but silent (you can hardly blame them, this is a buffet after all). There were about 30 different dishes to choose from, as well as ice cream/fruit/jellies for the kids' dessert. The selection was pretty typical of a Chinese buffet - the usual sweet and sour pork to cashew chicken and beef in black bean sauce. Some variations on fried rice and noodles were present as usual. Mini aromatic duck pancakes was about as exciting as it got. It's a shame that they don't have dim sum, but it could hardly be expected at that price. We walked out pretty satisfied. Even at the higher holiday price of £6.90 (normal price is £5.90), it was still pretty good value for money, and I'd come back again. Great for a pit stop, I'd recommend it whenever you're by the area and want something Chinese.
Wings Buffet – DocklandsThe best pub in the docklands, a friendly service, moderately priced and a superb pub atmosphere.
Cat and Canary – DocklandsI wondered about the name of this classy restaurant, and after I have tried ditalini alla puttanesca I couldn? stop licking my moustache.. I think that everyone should have a try! by the way try to search the meaning of their name on an Italian dictionary I? sure you will enjoy it better.
La Figa Restaurant – DocklandsSimply the best steaks in London!
Gaucho Restaurant – DocklandsOpted for this place instead of an overpriced Christmas Meal on Canary Wharf and we wasn? disappointed. Service was very good as we had rang our order through prior to arrival. A set meal for less than £10 included a starter, main course, rice, side dish, bottle of beer, and coffee. We added a round of poppadoms for 8 and extra beers and had change from £15 each. Not sure if this offer exists all the time but we certainly hope so.
Tale of India – DocklandsI love the food here; the ceviches were amazing, try a platter if you go. The Steaks and Cocktails are a must too. The waiter who served my wife and I was called Ivo, he was the most knowledgeable, charming waiter that I have had look after me for a long time. The young sommelier is very helpful and unpretentious too. Music was a little quiet on the night that we went, but I understand that they do live music at the weekends. Best of all though: A gaucho Grill rickshaw, took us back to the office!
Gaucho Restaurant – DocklandsThis place is the best I have been to in London for Steaks yet. They compare against Peter Lugers in my all top 3 steak restaurants. We were a bit overwhelmed by the wine list but our server was very sweet and had the knowledge to help us through it. I found the service as simply the best I have had in Britain, it is as good as most NY Restaurants. I love the rickshaws and cigar girls! Chairs and Tables are a bit too close together though. Great Value all round, we went to the new Gaucho in Liverpool Street as well this week, it is cooler and very hip, but didn't provide on the service and food like Canary Wharf did.
Gaucho Restaurant – DocklandsThe food was lovely however the service was slightly slow, the price I thought was quite expensive, but my fellow diners were saying it was reasonable as they are people who live in London and I don't so I have no experience of prices. I would recommend, as all in all it was nice.
Tale of India – DocklandsWhat a wondeful dining experience! The decor is very classy and the service top notch. We enjoyed the food so much, we often get take aways from them and serve it at dinner parties...sneaky I know! Wonderful food, good service, good location...what more could you ask for?
Gaylord – DocklandsThis place is the best Thai i have ever been to. It is excellent in every way. We never sit where we are offered, always move around - staff fine with it, very pleasant & always happy. The majority of visits we get recommendations from the waiter for our meal, and they always get it right. Excellent choices & great wine list. The bar is well organised, with many cocktails on offer! They have a fantastic menu, we always have a great time whenever we go....which is quiet regular! :o) I have recommended this restaurant to everyone we know!! You must go!
Elephant Royale Thai Restaurant – DocklandsWe went here to have a celebration breakfast - i had just graduated, & we wanted a champagne style breakfast. The atmosphere was very french, we sat on the chairs they had outside in the sunshine, sipping champagne & a continental style breakfast. The service was very good, choice of food excellent, we'll be going back!
Cafe Rouge – DocklandsOne of our locals! On a sunny day you can sit outside, as it becomes cool they have the over head heaters that generate lots of heat, and inside is lovely too. Spacious dining, excellent food, a little disappointing on the wine list - we ordered a rather dodgy tasting bottle of wine!! Beware.... They have changed their menu recently too - and i have to say it's a lot better than before!!
