Ravelston House – EdinburghLovely meal and service. Good value for money.
Ravelston House – EdinburghThank you so much to the staff at The Ravelston for making our family event run so smoothly. We really appreciated your care and help - plus the food was delicious. We were in the private room, which is perfect for a group of 10 -12 and is beautifully done up.
Ravelston House – EdinburghLove the bar in the Ravelston but went for lunch in the main restaurant for a change last Sunday and it was very enjoyable. Staff very friendly and attentive, food was lovely and good value.
Ravelston House – EdinburghWent for lunch last Thursday! Food was absolutely delicious and have to say Vinnie who served us is amazing - so friendly, attentive and happy!
Ravelston House – EdinburghAbsolutely delicious meal, Fantastic service and great atmosphere. The Sunday Roast dinner is to die for! Will definitely be back.
Ravelston House – EdinburghFood was very good and generous sized portions. Between us we had haggis bon bons, brie and soup starters and all good. Most of us had haddock and chips which was huge. We were put in separate room for our birthday celebrations and staff were very friendly, attentive and efficient. We all thought it was value for money and would go again.
Ravelston House – EdinburghWent with friend for an afternoon tea. Friendly staff and great service. The food was good sandwiches were extremely fresh, the only criticism would be that the scones were tiny!
Ravelston House – EdinburghAverage food, premium price. The haddock was overcooked and very dry. Not great considering they charge the best part of £20 for a full one. Much better food at the chippy down the road. The macaroni was bland, and the same size as the child’s portion. The salad on the plate was old and not edible. Don’t spend £15 on this. The curry was extremely spicy, but no indication of level of spice on the menu. Advertised outside that kids eat free during the holidays, but charged us £7.50 for our kid’s meal. They brought my wife out the wrong course, didn’t apologise, and acted like we were inconveniencing them resolving the issue. My wife had to eat alone after we had all finished. Unfriendly waitress who looked like she really didn’t want to be there. Don’t waste your money, go somewhere else.
Ravelston House – EdinburghFantastic meal. Busy Saturday night but service was great, the waiter was attentive and quick at replenishing our drinks. Everyone's food was excellent.
Ravelston House – EdinburghWe had the Steak Pie, pastry let it down, didn't seem fresh.
Ravelston House – EdinburghCame here with my partner & youngest child for my birthday meal. Initial experience in the bar was fab. Lovely waitress full of banter & super welcoming. But things were then ruined when we entered the dining room. Service from the waitress there was akin to the local chippy - sour faced & definitely not what we expected. Our experience was thankfully redeemed once this waitress went out for her break once we received out main courses & service was then taken over by the a really cheerful guy who honestly couldn't have done any more for us! Especially for our wee one He was fabulous. Wish I'd have gotten his name - Tall guy with glasses. If it hadn't have been for him, we'd have left totally disappointed. But he really made my day/birthday dinner. Even going out of his way to write Happy Birthday in raspberry sauce on my dessert! Thank you!! So full credit & tip goes to him. What a guy!! The food was good, though we felt not worth over the £100 we paid. Steak was not cooked to order unfortunately, even though our Initial waitress did ask how we would like it. But it was still a nice piece of meat & our wee one scoffed her whole meal. We hope to come back sometime.
Ravelston House – EdinburghBar staff walked out when there was a queue at the bar because his shift had ended, leaving no bar staff left on. Food was expensive for a tiny portion.
Ravelston House – EdinburghBooked the Ravelston for a colleagues birthday, menu was varied, lots of things to choose from. Food was excellent and hot. Everyone liked what they had. Would recommend.
Ravelston House – EdinburghNot the best meal we have had to be honest. Starter of pate - not enough oatcakes Main of balmoral chicken was cold so had to be sent back, my husband d was finished his by the time mine came back. Main of steak pie - frozen chips
Ravelston House – EdinburghI booked the Silks room for my husbands 70th birthday dinner in August 2023 and paid a £100 deposit for 6.30pm on 22nd December. When we arrived we were told the party before us were still in the room and that we had been switched to a table in the restaurant. I explained to the manager that was not acceptable as I booked the Silks room for a private meal for the family including 4 grandchildren. And had booked well in advance to secure the room. The manager spoke to the party concerned and said to me that they kindly said they would move through to the bar area, which was kind for the manager as this was his problem to solve not mine. I haven't received a genuine apology as yet, unfortunately this has left us totally disappointed, as we have been frequent customers for years. I would like to say that after the delay and distress the waitress staff gave exemplary service.
Ravelston House – EdinburghAte in the restaurant for the first time and really enjoyed it. The food and wine were delicious and the staff were friendly and efficient.
