Ran out of one of the starters, ran out of rosé wine (and this was at 8pm!), dirty toilets and rude staff. We stayed half hour then walked out. Safe to stay we will not be returning!

Shellys – HornchurchVisited Umberto's with my son and my husband. We really enjoyed it, we we're really made welcome as we walked in. The food was very nice, cooked nice as well, staff we're all very friendly. The restaurant was a bit pricey but then you don't mind paying if you really enjoy it. I would highly recommend it.
Umberto’s Restaurant – HornchurchVisit to watch football and often eat as well as drink. Always a good atmosphere, even though there is a wide age range. Staff are constantly clearing tables so always feels clean. And last but not least, GREAT value for drinks and food.
The Fatling and Firkin – HornchurchI would bring friends and family here time and time again very gd food and the staff are out of this world xx
The Albion – Hornchurchvery polite staff ,fast service , fantastic food great prices
Chilli Tree – HornchurchNice small cosy restaurant that looks like it has not been decorated for at least three decades. The menu was decent & this is certainly not one of those high straight ‘Italian’ restaurants’s that sell little other than stereotypically Italian pizza & pasta dishes. This was definitely more authentic than that kind of fare, which was a big plus. There was a mixed response to the dishes we ordered from our group of eight but I think on the whole everyone enjoyed their meals. My main special of slow cooked beef shoulder was delicious but I was less impressed with my starter of deep fried whiting, prawn & crab claw. This wasn't very exciting at all & made me think of the kind of finger food you buy frozen from the supermarket. I didn't have dessert but some of these that were ordered also looked like they came from a packet. Presentation was at worst sloppy & best quite ordinary & definitely had a pub grub look about it. Our bill worked out around £40 a head, which is not bad at all considering the drinks we had. I'd go back for sure but I’d drink less to make it a better value meal out.
Umberto’s Restaurant – HornchurchImagine a 1950s London Italian restaurant with Chianti bottles, artex ceilings and a decor last refurbished when Frank Sinatra was struggling to get served in a Hoboken bar and you have the feel. Clearly they will sell you Lasagne, Minestrone and Tiramisu; and it is all pretty good stuff. Comfort food Italian style. They also do a few more sophisticated specials with a nice take on matching sauces to good quality meat. Fish specials always seem to feature, and judging by the frequent changing of the specials board I guess they just buy and cook whatever they fancy doing on the day. For a small suburb Hornchurch seems to have a lot of Italian places, this is the pick of the crop; smaller, independent and we a bit of variety. Only gripe was the limited choices when it came to wine.
