Saffron – Poulton-Le-FyldeOur lunch for 4 at the Queens was great. Cheese and onion pie, pulled pork sarnie, a posh hot dog and a lovely salad. It is a bright and airy venue in a great location on Lytham front. Would return.
Queens Hotel – LythamI hadn't eaten at Micheal Wan's Mandarin since I was a kid. My mother used to take me after school every week. It is still going and has been serving great Chinese food since 1968. It has recently been modernised giving it an authentic period Chinese feel, which is upmarket with a kind of modern slant using a vibrant colour scheme. Sevice was friendly and professional. I rarely eat Chinese food however I enjoyed all the dishes we shared, particulaly the prawn Szechuan and crispy duck. It was my mothers birthday and the restaurant provided appropriate table decorations and a cake I didn't request. A nice touch that was appreciated. We will return and recommend it.
Michael Wan’s Mandarin – BlackpoolSaw the 3 tapas for a tenner deal on here so popped down to try it out with the wife. We were very impressed with the quality and the quantity of the food we got. Firstly we sat outside on the terrace at the front of the restaurant which was lovely in the early evening sunshine. The house Sauvignon Blanc was very good and complimented the tapas well. I would order 3 at a time rather than going for 6 to begin with as the portions were larger than we had imagined but no complaints there! We will return to do this again but hope the menu changes regularly so we can try lots of different things.

Captains Table – BlackpoolAfter a lovely weekend away with my friend we stopped on the way home for our evening meal , as it had been some time since my last visit I was excited to see the new refurbishments. The decor 'Beautiful and inspiring, with gentle, calming music and atmosphere, Food disappointingly and embarrassingly terrible....with high expectations reflected in prices I didn't know where to look when my friends 12oz Gammon steak with trimmings arrived ! Pinapple- tinned, Egg-uncooked, Chips-Scrag ends all of different colours which tells you only one thing ! there's none left !! Peas-frozen, portion sized in a butter dish ! Gammon- Fatty and tough.I brought my concerns to the young, student type waitress who simply said 'sorry' who then sent another waitress to tell us that she was replacing the chips with a large portion of skinny fries, as predicted ! they had RUN......out of CHIPS !!!! to our disbelief when the new offering arrived they had simply taken half of the scrag end away and placed a Few !!!! skinny chips on top !!!!!OMG !!!! Thankfully my prawn cocktail was simply just OK , but then again where can this go wrong !!!P.S Dont have the onion rings-oozing grease !Sorry 'Horns Inn' you've a long way to go !!
Horns Inn – GarstangJust tried Bellamy's new shop at the Castle Gardens, Carleton. Delighted to be served the best Haddock I can ever remember having, as close to perfection as possible. 10/10
Bellamy’s Great Eccleston Fish Bar – Great EcclestonRun out of kebab meat again rubbish.
Cyprus TakeAway – Poulton-Le-FyldeThis was recommended by a friend.
Mi Casa Su Casa – BlackpoolThis is the 3rd time this has happened from this takeaway whilst the orders on all occasions are hit and miss, its clear there are some communication issues between the person who takes the order and the persons that cook an deliver the order. As what we ordered was missing items on occasions or totally the wrong order, when you point this out when you ring back you get a very cold response verging on the side of obnoxiousness. Word of warning check your order before the delivery driver leaves.
The Raj – FreckletonThe food was amazing highly recommended!!!
Tak Ming Canton Kitchen – St. Annes-On-SeaWent for dinner recently at La Piazza II in Bispham. It’s an Italian restaurant with a Spanish theme -- framed photos of Cuba adorning the walls, salsa on the sound system and Rioja on the wine list. But the menu seems to be 100 Italian so go figure. The food was pleasant enough and the atmosphere quite lively albeit in a retro kind of way with noisy waiters shouting across the room and having a real laugh with the punters. Every Italian restaurant was like this 20 years ago but they are getting increasingly thin on the ground. Go there while you can!
