Bay Horse Hotel – Thornton-CleveleysI recommend the Mandarin. The beef curry was gorgeous...
Michael Wan’s Mandarin – Blackpoolfood was really nice first time and i'm even coming back on 20th for my hen night thanks for the lovely food will defo be tell friend and family thanks laura
Woks Cooking – LythamHighly recommend this restaurant for excellent food and the service provided was above and beyond the norm. Our waitress *Mavis* was a star and very very helpful without being intrusive. Great lady. As stated the food was excellent, well cooked and presented and great value for money. We would recommend the Red Lion to anyone. We noted that children were well catered for too. Top marks Red Lion and Mavis
Red Lion Beefeater Restaurant and Pub – BisphamMy better half and I got a little lost and ended up in Fleetwood (nice little coastal town). We searched around a few restaurants (one was charging £22 a plate, we assume they were having a laugh). In the end we chose The Mount over The Euston nearby and we were so glad we did. It has all the charm that corporations try so hard to mimic, really spacious and the staff were really helpful. It had loads of secluded spots so we didn't have to eat looking at anyone else (I like privacy but didn't expect it, was lovely to get it). We ordered a ranch burger (for her) and a Steak & Ale pie for me. The chips are standard pub chips nothing special but the burger was lovely. The bap was soft like it had just been bought for the bakers, not one of those cheap ones. The burger was delicious. I kept stealing some from my missus when she wasn't looking. My pie was great, really beefy and tasty, the pastry was good and I got veg with it. The thing was we must have paid about £10 and we got the biggest portion sizes I've ever seen. I kept stuffing my face even after I knew I had to stop cos of the pain in my stomach! My girlfriend was in hysterics watching me gorge on the food. Naturally we left a tip and wouldn't go anywhere else if we were in fleetwood. Also they had some nice cider with raspberry thing... looked like rose wine but was really gorgeous. Oh yeh and the pub looks out on the bay too so you get a great view if you want it too. This is one of two places I would take family that I know of on the Fylde (other is a Chinese).
Mount Pub – FleetwoodAs I am in the trade and only get one night a week off my wife and I decided to dine the Cartford Inn as it has been awarded with the Highest Quality Award..... When we arrived we had to find our own table and collect our own menu as there was nobody to greet us. I ordered a simple 8oz burger and fries and a side order of onion rings. To my disappointment I got an uncooked burger which was cold in the centre. I then alerted the waitress who at once took it back to the kitchen. As an experienced chef I would have replaced the burger with a freshly cooked one, I would not have recooked the old burger. 8 minutes later I received the old burger with a bite I took out of it. There was no evidence that this had been re flame grilled or pan fried, I received no replacement cutlery. Unfortunately when the dish had been returned to the kitchen the waitress did not take away the side order. By the time my main course was returned the side order was stone cold. I then alerted the owner who said 'we cook all our burgers pink'. I explained that the burger was raw not pink, and that it seemed to have been recooked in a microwave. I was told 'I can assure we don't use microwaves for cooking'. The owner was somewhat unsympathetic and dismissive. Things may not always come out of the kitchen perfectly but it is possible to redeem the situation by the front of house staff. Unfortunately in this case the service at the front of house was also poor. A very much missed opportunity to improve the situation.
Cartford Inn – Great Ecclestonthe Highland Hotel is just perfect for any party or wedding meal as we have just had today Lee and his staff did us proud with excellent food and service can't thank you enough
The Highlands – Bispham3 Visits - 3 very enjoyable meals - 3 times excellent, pleasant service
Ego Mediterranean Restaurant – LythamBest restaurant in Lytham, never mind the Hastings or Portofino. This is the place you want. it's about dishes that blow you away with taste and texture, which you can never usually match with British or Italian unfortunately. You might want to go out for a meal of good quality food, but why not try ... spectacular? This should be your prime preference for a meal out. No joke, my claims are genuine. You'll soon find a dish to fall in love with. I know I have, on erm, rather too many occasions... :)
Red Fort – LythamMy family have been visiting the Red Fort ever since it opened over 10 years ago, and we still continue to enjoy the fantastic food and service there regularly. Thankfully we live within walking distance of the restaurant, but it remains a place that you should definitely make an effort to visit, for a great meal. On the menu that offers a wide selection of good dishes, you'll easily find a favourite, whether it be a classic curry, or a signature dish you may never have tasted before. They also cater well for vegetarians, as even my strict vegetarian brother loves his meal. The staff are friendly and helpful, adding outstanding service, to the already solid foundation of gorgeous food. We'll never really enjoy any restaurant quite as much, as this special place.
Red Fort – LythamWas utterly disgusted by the behaviour of the staff at this restaurant - in particular a very aggressive lady with frizzy ginger hair. To summarise, my wife was verbally abused in front of both myself, my friends, and the rest of the restaurant. Very disappointed and will not be returning. At the beginning of the evening everything seemed ok, but shortly after we arrived it was noticeable that the number of people in the restaurant was going affect the service. We were sat down to choose our food and left to contemplate the situation for a further 30 minutes. After choosing our food we noted that several people around us that arrived later were not only served sooner, but also had food arrive, and subsequently leave quicker, all before we had finished our main course. At every opportunity following this we tried to convey our disappointment with the staff. At the end of meal we tried to discuss this issue with the first available member of staff. This apparent "mute" left mid-conversation to acquire somebody who could comprehend the English language. At this point a lady (ginger, frizzy hair) arrived and positioned herself immediately next to my wife. Within 10 seconds of the conversation starting she interrupted the conversation asking if we were unhappy with the food OR unwilling to pay. Given these two options we jointly agreed it was 'unwilling to pay'. In reality it was not unwilling to pay but simply we were unhappy with the service - but we were not given this option. This caused significant issues within the restaurant and we were then surrounded by several members of staff. This was not only uncomfortable but very confrontational and aggressive from a customer service point-of-view. Soon after this I heard one member of staff demand why we had sat through 2.5 hours of the meal, eating and drinking what we had. This was not the point. Our argument was in the time it took, then subsequently aggravated by the rude members of staff. At this point I asked why they were being so aggressive to which the reply was barked at me "we are trying to run a business" - not very well was my reply! Having said all this, one senior member of staff kindly gave us a £20 discount, something we neither asked for or needed, but this at least acknowledged the continued abuse we received whilst trying to leave. Personally I would have paid the full bill given the quality of the food, but felt abused and angry that we were being accused of being difficult customers when all we wanted was to be served within a respectable timeframe. I will not be returning again, despite the excellent quality of the food.
Margherita – St. Annes-On-Seanot recommended at all, made a complaint about the service and one of the members of staff (A women with curly hair) shouted across the restaurant at me after walking away from me as i tried to explain the problem as she continued to shout she moved across the room to me and shouted in my face, i have never experienced such low standards of customer service. avoid at all costs.
Margherita – St. Annes-On-SeaDon't be hungry when you go to the Mogul as it took over 1hr to get our main course, when we ask the Manager where our food was he said the staff were fasting or praying?? just like us praying for our food absolutely crap service the Manager even sat down and ate why we ere waiting for our main course, so e weren't next he was, terrible service, and then they charge us double for 2 rice portions 8.40 instead of 4.80, simply not up to standards.
Moghul Tandoori Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaAVOID!!!! obviously under new ownership now, atrocious food and customer service
The Fairhaven – LythamThis used to be decent country pub but has gradually gone done hill over the last three or so years. What used to be consistently good is now bland and cheap.Cheap as in the ingredients they use.We used to eat here quite often but have just eaten our last ever meal here. It seems if you're not ordering a £16 sirloin or something more expensive they simply do not care how it tastes or is presented. They used to do decent kids meals here too but now their idea of a good balanced meal for a kid is to deep fry strips of chicken and i do mean deep fry. They're swimming in grease and fat to the point of being sloppy in the middle. You get a better meal at a brewers fayre but then again i guess that's why they're a chain and the eagle and child isn't. The beer is overpriced and the lager is generally tepid and flat. the same can be said for the soft drinks which come in a half full glass! The pub itself could be described as "rustic" which it is to a certain extent however now its starting to verge on scruffy and possibly dirty. If you're planning on enjoying a nice sunny afternoon by eating outside then make sure you bring a can of wasp repellent because the front of the pub is absolutely plagued by them to the point that you just cannot at all at any point relax. Well that's my opinion anyway.I don't normally go in for reviewing/slagging off places and god knows we've been loyal to this place over the years but unfortunately there's been far too much resting on laurels and trying to trim overheads that what used to be good about this place has well and truly gone. There are many far better places to eat around the area so id advise you to look anywhere but here.
The Eagle at Weeton – KirkhamBrilliant food will definitely go again, friendly welcoming pub
