JK’s Steakhouse – BlackpoolLast-minute decision to eat out and we chose the Grand in St Annes. Quite busy and this was a Monday evening which is a good sign. Really enjoyed the food – warm potted Lytham shrimps, rib eye with Bearnaise, sticky toffee pudding – and the Chablis on their list was pretty good too. I like the vibe here which is more city centre than seaside. And being a wine geek I love the fact that they have proper stemware (Riedel-style Bordeaux glasses) which you rarely find outside of the high-end Michelin places. Highly recommended.
Cafe Grand – Grand Hotel – St. Annes-On-SeaSurprised at how nice the food was here last Sunday. We went for a walk with the dog and ate outside by the lake. I had a very pleasant fish pie and the wife had a retro ham and eggs. Simple but tasty all round. Also it was £16 with drinks, nice.
Fairhaven Lakeside Cafe – St. Annes-On-SeaBest chippy of all ; I've worked in a lot and I've tasted a lot ; these are the best I ever had ; well done
The Cottage – BlackpoolGreat service great and mojitos! This is the best combination of great food bites tapas and a menu of cocktails all made expertly by the bar staff here. Other venues could learn from them about how to make cocktails! Keep up the good work.
Mojito Tapas Bar – LythamRude owners, overpriced. The customer is always wrong attitude & don't appear to enjoy what they do. Uncomfortable atmosphere.
Fancy That – Lytham** Wonderful dining experience ** Having already visited the restaurant earlier in the year with a group of friends and enjoyed it, I took my husband on Friday 22nd July 2011 as a surprise. Initially, this looked to be a disastrous choice since although the menu is updated regularly, it is limited and unfortunately there was little he fancied. In addition, I'm veggy, and the vegetarian main course, as there was only the one to choose from, was risotto, which I'm no great fan of. Not to be deterred, I asked whether there was any specials on, which for my husband, a rib eye steak with goose fat cooked chips then had an alluring appeal. For myself, after talking to very knowledgeable and obliging staff, a bespoke culinary delight was created which consisted of mash, vegetables and poached eggs, together with a selection of flavoured butters. This description doesn't really do it justice but it was exquisitely presented and was cooked to perfection. The 4 butters, (including blue cheese, garlic and truffle, chilli and a lemony one, were served on a slate and designed to be mixed with the mash. My husband said the chips, which were monstrous, were the best he'd ever tasted along with the peppercorn sauce that accompanied the dish. I was full from my main course and complementary hot bread rolls which were delicious, however, my husband said he could manage a sweet. Being a chocolate lover, he selected the 'chocolate' dessert which consists of a dark chocolate fondant, white chocolate mousse and milk chocolate and tonka bean mousse. Again, this was presented beautifully and from a couple of spoonfuls I tried, tasted as good as it looked. This was washed down with an Irish coffee for my husband and an Earl Grey tea for me. Which was served in a contemporary teapot and yet again was noted for the great care and effort that all the cutlery and crockery is new, innovative and stylish and adds another enjoyable dimension to the eating experience. To top it off, there was a jazz trio playing which were entertaining and lent a perfect vibe to the whole evening.
The Tapas Bar and Restaurant – KirkhamDined at The Moghul on the 23rd July. From the start the service was fantastic. Welcomed in by the manager who asked us to relax and take a seat while they prepared our table. Offered a complimentary sample dish, which was fantastic. All of the food was cooked to a very high standard. Reasonably priced too. Offered a complimentary drink at the end of the meal. If I had to make one criticism it would be nice to have a slightly bigger portion. It was sufficient for my girlfriend however I would have liked a little more. A fantastic restaurant, will be visiting again.
Moghul Tandoori Restaurant – St. Annes-On-SeaBy far the best Indian cuisine I have ever tasted. I will not go anywhere else!!!
The Dilraj – St. Annes-On-SeaLove the gravy well I am a northern lass!
Taste – Thornton-CleveleysVisited Anatolia on Friday night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The whole experience was excellent. Mixed mezes to share and then the BBQ mix grill (which was huge). All the food was tasty, incredibly fresh and definitely moreish! Service was delightful and the bill refreshingly small. Lovely, crisp Turkish white wine but sadly not able to try pudding due to size of main course (will try on next visit). Can't wait to return for great food and excellent service.
Anatolia – St. Annes-On-SeaWent to the Michael Buble Tribute last night had a great time. Have to say it is by far the best dining experience in the area and would recommend it. Service excellent and food top notch. The new owners Neal and Gillian go that extra mile to make you feel welcome. Can't think of anything negative to say.
The Sparling Barton – GarstangIf you are looking for polite service I would not recommend Bistro Italia the food was ok but the service was not! We had not been asked whether we would like dessert when the waiter asked how long it would be before we would be asking for the bill as he had some friends who were wanting a table! (our table was 7.30 and we were home by 9.15pm) How rude we will not be returning and will ensure we tell our friends and family about this experience which spoilt our evening.
Bistro Italia – Poulton-Le-FyldeChicken, Bacon, Cheese mixed with Mayo Panini... to die for!!! Highly Recommended.
Nosh Sandwich Shop – Blackpoolsapori, well can i say by far the best italian restaurant in blackpool i must go every 2 weeks, the food is always spot on and the friendly service to is great if u dont visit sapori on your visit then you have missed out.
Sapori – BlackpoolAs a vegetarian, one of the ways i judge a venues attitude to us Veggies is by the use of Parmesan in Vegetarian Dishes. Any establishment who has properly sourced their ingredients and has done an ounce of research knows that Parmesan is not suitable for Veggies. (it contains animal rennet - juices from the Stomach of Slaughter Calves) Therefore i was most disappointed when browsing the Cafe Grand menu, to discover Vegetarian items on the menu containing Parmesan. Makes you wonder how they source the ingredients for other Vegetarian Dishes too? Sorry The Grand, you've lost a customer!
Cafe Grand – Grand Hotel – St. Annes-On-SeaVery attractive restaurant. The new upstairs room is lovely - good for private functions or quiet intimate meals. Food is faultless and the staff are a delight. Wine a little pricey but who drinks wine with Indian food !
The Lemon Tree Indian Restaurant – Poulton-Le-FyldeWent to Knott End Cafe for my lunch, my first impression was quite good. The young waitresses were very pleasant and efficient. The food was very nice (10/10 for the lovely male chef). A very pleasurable experience with the exception of a couple of rude staff members.
