Artisan @ Booths – LythamI love popping into La Dolce Vita when I fancy a good, hearty Italian feast with some great wine. Also went in for the special at Lunchtime last week for the first time. The food was always the best Italian food I have had in a restaurant. The service is always great and the atmosphere pleasantly relaxed while still retaining smartness. As for the price, it's always affordable for any occasions. As long as I live in the area I'll keep on coming here. Overall superb! You should definitely be going and give a try. Guarantee won't be disappointed!
Pizza and Pasta – Thornton-CleveleysWe had a party of 12 for my wife's birthday and picked the Table d'hote menu which, incidentally is £27.50 not £25 as advertised. The choice was good and the food excellent, the staff were attentive without being intrusive and the place itself is comfortable and relaxing. I thought the prices a bit on the high side for a set 3 course meal and the drink was expensive but overall we had a very pleasant and satisfying evening, we had provided a table decoration, some balloons and a cake which the staff were only too happy to assist us with. Would definitely go again but only on a special occasion.
Clifton Arms Hotel – LythamI visit Taste on a regular basis and know of many others who do also. It has to be the best cafe in cleveleys and the surrounding areas. The food is beautiful and something different to what you normally get. Also the price are also very modest. The staff, particularly Shelley deserve some recognition for their outstanding hospitality. I seriously recommend this restaurant.
Taste – Thornton-Cleveleys4 of us went for a meal today. Service and food was good. The salad I'm told was boring, but everyone's mains were fine, and the restaurant looks great, and isn't smoky anymore. I will be going back.
Cube Wine Bar – Poulton-Le-FyldeWe eat out a lot and this is probably the best Italian restaurant in Poulton if not on the Fylde Coast. The food and service is excellent, the fillet steaks are fantastic but if you want traditional Italian the pastas and pizzas are equally as good. A Fantastic atmosphere. We can't get enough of this place. Thanks Gennar and the team! 21.10.07
Dom’s Italian – Poulton-Le-FyldeThis restaurant was recommended by friends Colin and Adrienne and we all go regularly. It is the best food, value for money and dining experience I have ever come across. The menu changes regularly and with every change the opportunity to try something new and wonderful.
We visited Green's Bistro on Friday 19th Oct for the first time and the food was absolutely gorgeous. We selected from the very competitively priced set menu and were not disappointed by the choices offered. The service was good but the whole place lacks an intimate atmosphere: the music played was just too quiet which made you feel self-conscious about your own conversation and the lighting was too harsh, despite tea-light candles on the tables. My husband ordered a bottle of beer which was "cool" rather than the expected "cold". Overall, we had a lovely meal but probably wouldn't go back because of the disappointing ambience. The bill only came to £40 which was fantastic value for two three-course meals , two generous glasses of red wine and two bottles of a well-known brand of beer.
Greens Bistro – St. Annes-On-Seawe have been going to the cartford most fri/sat nights for a long time, whilst loving it before, we love the transformation that patric and julie have done, the beer is excellent ,lovely staff ,well done to you both marion and doug (mmm nice hot chocolate)
Cartford Inn – Great EcclestonThe Clifton Arms should be on everyones 'To-Do' list! I've often walked past longing to be the one sat in the window, all smiles and relaxing, sipping tea from a China cup and saucer. When my little sister came to stay it was the perfect opportunity to indulge and leave hectic life behind for a while. So Afternoon Tea it was. And what an absolute pleasure. Good old fashioned service by immaculately dressed waiters. Impossibly fresh and mouthwatering sandwiches, filled to perfection and divine cakes. Not to mention the moorish toast and Wilkin and Sons Jams. My sister can't wait for her next visit and neither can I because the log fire will be burning! Heaven! We may even opt for the Champagne Afternoon tea next time.
Clifton Arms Hotel – Lythamchina red is very good :)
China Red – Poulton-Le-Fyldewe have just come back from Blackpool this weekend, we went to Harry Ramsdens for an evening meal, a treat for my 78years old mother, we had to stand for 20mins , till someone cleared some tables, no one asked if my mother would like to sit down. I saw waiters giving out food which they had stacked, one on top of the other up his arm, we waited to give our order, then half an hour later, got our food, it was hot and fairly good , but the plates and cutlery, had not been washed properly there was grease on the bottoms of the plates. The standards there need sorting out, we are everyday working people, and not picky , but i was let down by the way things are run there. Please do something before more people are put off.
Harry Ramsdens – BlackpoolRecommended by our guest house hosts, this little gem served up a very tasty and authentic pizza, and a quite outstanding pasta arrabiata - so much better than the tinned tomato and chilli powder 'sauce' you are offered elsewhere. Friendly service, and excellent deserts - the tiramisu was particularly impressive. We'll be back!
Tiramisu – BlackpoolWe had my daughters 30th party last night and the whole evening was enhanced by the wonderful staff at san Marcos. The food, service and atmosphere was excellent. Thankyou Marcos you made our night. Special thanks to Marchin ( hope we spelt your name right). We will certainly be recommending Marcos to out friends
San Marcos – BlackpoolWarmed up chips,stale bread,warm tea.Very disapointed.
Seniors – BlackpoolMy husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary here and we were not disappointed. From the initial booking to receiving the bill, everything was done with class and excellent customer service. We had the Mandarin Banquet which was exquisite. The prawn toast and ribs were the best we have ever had. The crispy aromatic duck was amazing and the sizzling king prawns - well it pained me to leave a couple but we were just too full to finish them. It was a fantastic night and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone. It's just a pity we don't live in Blackpool or we would eat here all the time.
Michael Wan’s Mandarin – BlackpoolWell where do we begin. We’d eaten in the restaurant in 2001 and thought it was absolutely fantastic and well deserved the Lancashire Life award so we were looking forward to a repeat of the same. It got off to a pretty good start as we sat upstairs and had a complimentary glass of champagne. From then on though it was downhill……. We were given the menu which comprised of a sheet of an A4 sheet of paper with four starters, four mains and four desserts so we were hardly blown away by the choice on offer. We wouldn’t have minded this so much as we thought the food would be outstanding in quality but it was far from so! To be honest it was hard to pick a starter and main as nothing excited us. For starter we both picked a goats cheese terrine with crostini. It was ok but lacked any flavour to complement the goats cheese. Next we both opted for the rib eye of beef (as there wasn’t a fillet steak anywhere to be seen on the menu). This came with mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, chunky chips and onion rings. The beef was very, very fatty and the whole dish tasted greasy like everything had been cooked in 10 year old oil. It was very disappointing. For dessert I opted for a white chocolate mousse cake. This was nice but I could get something very similar from Marks and Spencer. My husband chose cheese and biscuits which were ok. The evening was “Friday Night Live” and there was a lady singer on a stage (started about 8.45pm). The music was a bit loud and overbearing so it put an end to any conversation! There were tables with groups of people and they got up dancing so they seemed to enjoy that part of the night but it’s not really to my taste. I’m sorry to have sounded so negative but I wanted to give an honest critique of our evening. We were meant to be celebrating a special occasion and we may laugh about it in years to come but we certainly weren’t laughing at the time and given that it cost £66 (just for the food) I think it was over-priced for what was on offer. We had an opportunity to give some feedback to the restaurant manager as we were paying for the bill (we wouldn’t normally do this but it had been so disappointing and the man prompted us by asking if we had enjoyed our evening). His customer service was excellent and he explained that he had only been in the post for a week. I hope others will be as honest as they can only improve if we tell them. The surroundings were lovely and staff were efficient and polite - its just a shame that the food let the whole experience down.
