I?e been to Margheritas several times now. Each time I?e had the lunchtime special - 2 courses £5.75 or thereabouts. I have to say that I?e enjoyed every visit. The food is very different from the usual run-of-the-mill Italian. I presume that it is authentic Sicilian food, as the chef, Pasquale Real is from Palermo. OK I? not going to try and remember the exact names of all the dishes I?e tried but the most outstanding I?e had are the following - Spaghetti Bolognese: perfect pasta with a very tasty but light sauce, lovely texture and piping hot just as it should be served. Chicken in a white wine cream and mushroom sauce with rice (can? remember the Italian name): - Oh boy. This is just so beautifully rich, with chicken breast tender yet firm (is that possible), lashings of wonderful full bodied sauce which explodes with flavour and rice, again cooked to perfection; it actually feels like you?e eating something healthy. Rigatoni al Dialvo (I think): - the best Italian dish I ever had; firm chunks of pasta in a chilli sauce with hot salami and cream, words cannot describe the joy of eating this; I recommend garlic bread and plenty of parmesan. Lastly best starters - sounds corny but the garlic mushrooms in béchamel sauce are to die for and the prawns in chilli sauce divine if you can take the heat. The service is fantastic. Very laid back. Very helpful and friendly. No pushiness and you?e never ?old?anything. Wine reasonably priced and generally good stuff (excellent Chianti). You get the feeling you could sit all day and never be hassled. Good atmosphere! Good food! What more do you want? Recommend it to anyone who likes Italian food!
