Cafe Lutz – GatesheadThe Alpine breakfast was delicious, nicely presented and freshly made. The staff were wonderful and the coffee was top notch. Would definitely recommend.
Cafe Lutz – GatesheadAmazing food, never disappoints. Really lovely service & atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Cafe Lutz – GatesheadFab little place for food that's a bit different from the norm as it has an Alpine slant on many items. We had Fondue for 3 of us. The cheese was lush and the amount would easily feed 6! It comes with bread, but we wished it also came with an option of little veg chunks to balance the rich sumptuous cheese, and dare I say, less cheese as we left half. We also had a flambe and a curry wurst to dip in as well...A total fab pig out session washed with nice drinks. Friendly service. Will be back.
Cafe Lutz – GatesheadTable for 3 booked no problem. Great choice for breakfast. Lovely food and great service.
Cafe Lutz – GatesheadI would’ve preferred to send a review direct however none of the contact information on the website works. We have been occasional customers of Lutz since it opened and always had positive experiences. However, after a less than positive visit on Mother’s Day, we decided to give it another go this weekend giving the benefit of the doubt as Mother’s Day was very busy. We had a table for four booked for breakfast on Sunday. On arrival, drinks orders were taken and delivered quickly which was great. After around another 20mins food orders were taken with no information on whether there was a wait for food. When the food arrived, we had been sitting for an hour which I think is unacceptable. No apologies were made for the wait, no extra drinks orders were taken and no offer even of a glass of water. We had with us my 3 year old daughter who was waiting very patiently, however I’m sure you can understand that waiting that long for food with a young child isn’t ideal. Once the food came, we asked for some ketchup for my daughter to be told that, unless I could find some in the pots on the table, there was none. The waitress then watched as I looked in each pot on unoccupied tables rather than offering to look herself. Although a small thing, it’s frustrating when there is a supermarket next door and we were already less than amused after waiting for so long. The food was lovely, which is your saving grace as the service leaves a lot to be desired, especially when it’s hardly a cheap place to dine.
Cafe Lutz – GatesheadWe booked breakfast for5 people on Sunday at 12:00 when we arrived we were told by staff member we couldn’t have breakfast. The manager said they were preparing for Sunday lunch now as they were a small business and had to close kitchen. She then said her booking system hadn’t refreshed so didn’t know we were coming anyway. When she found our booking she said she’d be “having words” with whoever runs the website. Obviously wasn’t in a rush to do that as you can still book 12:00 for a Sunday breakfast slot. They’ll stay a small business with this customer service. She really couldn’t have cared less.
Cafe Lutz – GatesheadAmazing food on Mother’s Day, we went for brunch for a change and was not disappointed.. Will be back soon.
Cafe Lutz – GatesheadWe visited for Sunday lunch and were told to wait in the doorway. A male member of staff came over and asked whether we had a booking. As we could see our name on the table we said yes it's that one there. A female member of staff (not the owner) shouted across the cafe telling the lad to leave us where we were for now. We got sat down at 12.55 and drinks orders weren't taken until 13:10. Frustrating with young kids and others who came in after us had already been served. Drinks seemed expensive (£1.50 for a kids cordial with tap water!) Food was mostly good. Yorkshire puddings were a bit burnt and the fat on the belly pork was a bit tough but otherwise good. The cafe was far too hot and our 6yo son was struggling. It looked like there were air conditioning units but they weren't used. We thought the meals were fairly expensive compared to other local eateries and it was disappointing that the kids meals didn't come with potatoes. We live locally and are pleased we've tried it but we probably won't return as we've had much nicer experiences elsewhere in the area at a better price point .
Cafe Lutz – GatesheadLovely as always. Staff really friendly. Food excellent. Only thing I thought a bit strange was we were told they couldn’t add a bit of chilli to a pizza top even though we offered to pay for it
