Peters Seafood Restaurant – Glasgowfound this place while working for strathclyde busses on victoria road in 1996, used to get a 3 hr break on a Friday , all the guys tried a different place on a Friday, then we found here, brought my wife from then onwards , , , we have a passion for Indian food, ate it all over the world, but nothing compares to anarkali, , , , don't go anywhere else now , ,, , tho we have tried just about everywhere, so we come here twice a week every week, the food is always first class, great portions , and the sizzlers and huge nan breads to kill for, its a simple place inside, not really changed in our 13 years, but is worth every penny, if i had a chance i wouldn't change it for the world, we have become good friends with all the staff, they know us on first name terms and we know all them, wouldn't eat anywhere else , its amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!, cheap as well, prices hardly changed in years, well done amin and the boys,, , , also sample alex the delivery drivers patter if you can, , he is a scream peter and julie
Anarkali Indian – GlasgowI was fortunate to have had a beautiful meal at Mitchell's on Friday night (12th Dec 08). The menu was varied and I had haggis, neeps and tatties as a starter which was delicious and then the king scallops for my main meal. The quality of the food was exquisite and the service was also excellent. I would recommend this restaurant to all my friends. It is a bit out of the way but worth the trip!!
Mitchells Restaurant – Glasgowa was there a week ago. and food was lovely and service was gd also
India Palms – GlasgowBeen using the Delhi for over 10 years now for both sit & takeaway and it's consistently top notch grub.........highly recommended!
Delhi Darbar – GlasgowWith an fairly unassuming front, I had no idea what lay inside until it was recommended by my mate - now it is by far my favourite Glasgow restaurant! Service is absolutely excellent - food amazing with some nice wines. Would happily recommend to anyone. Try it and you'll go back!
La Riviera – GlasgowMy Husband and i wanted somewhere quick on a Wednesday evening and found this delightful restaurant Balbir's in Church St just off Byres rd the food was of very high quality the Lamb Saag is sooooo good! I wanted to stay forever the staff are so attentive and price wise you got your money's worth this is one place we will be making a regular haunt if you haven't yet tried it go you will not be disappointed we loved it. We are taking some friends to it next week and are looking forward to a monthly meeting there for our regular ruby murray's!!
Balbirs Restaurant – GlasgowIf you are only wanting to satisfy your curry urge then you won't be disappointed, however, if you are looking for authentic Indian food then forget it, it is the usual cheap food coloring sort of place where everything tastes much the same. OK if you are desperate for a lunch time bargain but not the type of place you would go for a right good meal or a special occasion ...unless you are riff raff or not aware of what a good curry actually is.
India Palms – GlasgowWent in with my friends for a girly night. Everything was great. Loved our meal, which our waitor recommended. We have already booked for our next visit. Can't wait. I'm already dreaming about those sweet chick peas with the bread.
Balbirs Restaurant – GlasgowDreadful service - do not go to this restaurant
Springfield Quay Harvester – GlasgowI have been going to the Anarkali restaurant for many years as it is the best Indian restaurant in Glasgow without doubt, if not Britain. I have only sampled 5 or 6 Indian restaurants outside of Glasgow in places such as Manchester, London and Aberdeen to name a few, though none of them compare to this hidden gem. A Lot of Glasgow punters bang on about Cafe India and The Village so I sampled them myself which I later regretted. The reason for this is I did not taste the same passion that I do with the Anarkalis food. The quality of food for sale in the Anarkali and size of portions make even the most dubious of curry lovers quiver. My tipple is the Chicken Tikka Tandoori Sizzlar which comes with rice or nan, salad and a quality curry sauce (which i use the next day for a prawn curry). My girlfriend always goes for the classic Chicken Bhoona which really does rock her world. For starters I would recommend Vegitable pakora, for its freshness and size of portion, as well as the Chicken Chaat for its sheer quality of texture. To top it all off the staff are bubbly and really enthusiastic about their food and this shows when your food is delivered to your table or door with take aways being a great option on a Sunday when we all sometimes get that dreaded hangover! In summary if your looking for a real hidden gem then look no further than Victoria Road and make the Anarkali your local Indian food place.
Anarkali Indian – GlasgowI would recommend to stay away. My ex worked their for a while and lets just say the chefs have a fun time with the food. Plus their beer pipes have never been cleaned, roll on a headache!!!
Filling Station – GlasgowRecently ate in this restaurant and was subjected to approx.10 minutes of cold air being blown from fan above shortly after we had been served our food(MY DAUGHTER AGED 10YRS HAD TO PUT ON FLEECE WHILST COMPLAINING ABOUT COLD)Asked if cold air could be turned off and told that "it wouldn't last much longer!?" On completion of meal asked manager why cold air could not have turned off immediately.Manager made comments about restaurant being "an old building"but when asked about why cold blowing air was not turned off immediately did not want to comment. No apology was given, no recognition that cold air could have caused discomfort during meal was acknowledged.Further, manager proved to be abusive by stating to writer that he was "shouting his mouth off"This was done in front of waiting staff and other customers. Manager made further sarcastic comment regarding food bill payment, but payment made in full despite circumstances. As to recommendation of cafe hula ,iwould leave that to the discerning reader.
Cafe Hula – GlasgowI went here with my husband before heading to the cinema. we were extremely pleased with the service and food. we also bumped into friends there who also enjoyed their meal. a little bit pricey but was nice.
