The Stump Cross Inn – HalifaxGood food and menu, attentive staff, sunday lunch amazing, only let down is its very dark!!!
Shibden Mill Inn – HalifaxLost its sparkle after new owners arrived, rude and arrogant. Boring bland food, unclean
Brown Horse Inn – HalifaxAn excellent place to enjoy home cooked pub food, the staff are extremely friendly and you could not enjoy a better country pub atmosphere. My husband and I highly recommend a visit no matter if you live local or not.
Duke of York – Halifaxi cant recommend this restaurant the food was inedible service was brisk and poor a major disappointment
The Moorlands Inn – HalifaxThis country pub is a real gem. The restaurant has a nice relaxed feel. It has its own car park and really tasty food with good sized portions. My dad and I were particularly impressed with the selection of homemade desserts and icecreams. Well worth a visit.
The Old White Beare – HalifaxFantastic place to go and the sunday early bird special is a great bargain especially if you need to get the kids out of the house, the staff are very friendly and provide a fantastic service. The food is delicious and can never be faulted. Its great for post midnight meals too and as they are open till well into the early hours you can always be sure they will be there. thanks guys!
Meena’s Restaurant – HalifaxPinnacle pub lunching! This place saved me after a night out, honest food and top notch real ale! How many pubs have lobster thermidor on the menu? Wanted spend all day there trying the delights the chefs have on offer! In a word it is coruscating!
The Old White Beare – HalifaxI can’t recommend this restaurant enough my wife and I love everything about it, The bar is well stocked the staff excellent Julio himself treats everybody like a close friend and the food is FANTASTIC. If you want to impress friends, colleagues or family then book a table. You won’t be disappointed.
Julio’s – HalifaxThe Old White Beare is well worth a visit. The food is excellent as is the service. The welcome is warm and friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed.
The Old White Beare – HalifaxMy Wife and I have had the pleasure of dining at this establishment. The food is always of the highest standard. The real ales are refreshing and a break from the norm. The staff are always friendly, make us feel welcome and always happy to help. Well worth the distance from Manchester. I highly recommend it anytime of the year.
The Old White Beare – HalifaxA beautifully crafted authentic Greek feel to the restaurant, complete with bouzouki players and a liberal smattering of plate smashing heightens your anticipation of some wonderful Mediterranean flavours. Othello doesn't disappoint on this front with a menu packed full of classic Greek dishes - good, honest, simple, traditional cooking. We opted for the Traditional Meat Meze. A starter course of tzatziki, houmous, taramasalata and pitta breads led on to delightful dolmades, kleftiko, stifado and more meat than a person should really eat in one sitting! An evening at Othello is just that - an evening - linger over dinner for hours the way the Greeks do, you'll be glad you did.
3 Olives Meze Bar and Mediterranean Grill – HalifaxGreat food at a great price! Service always with a smile - no task to much trouble. Great atmosphere for a relaxed bite to eat.
Shears Inn – HalifaxA Magnificent new Menu and Chef makes this Restaurant a must to visit. In conversation with the Management team here I was informed that all the food is prepared FRESH - There are No Frozen dishes here...The service is second to none and I can heartily recommend this local eatery. Another excellent point to make is that the starters are priced from £2.85 for Chef's Home Made Soup to only £3.65 for a huge portion of Prawns coated in Marie Rose sauce. And if you want to share then they offer a terrific selection of ethnic and Oriental starters, more than enough for two for just £5. 95: When it comes to the Mains there's everything from Roast of the Day with all the trimmings for £5.95 to a challenge if you're up to it to try their fantastic Mixed Grill at £10.85. As if that wasn't tempting enough. on Tuesday and Thursdays they have "Steak Night" and offer either 2 Rump Steaks along with two glasses of wine (remember that's for TWO) for £9.95 OR go really posh and have 2 Sirloin Steaks and a Bottle of House Wine -again for TWO- for just £18.50p other promotional nights include Tuesdays through to Saturdays the Chefs weekly Specials at £5.95 or £9.95 for Two: And Friday and Saturday Nights Curry and a Pint (your choice) for £6.95. All in all I can tell you as I told my listeners to my radio programme worldwide on www.bcbradio.co.uk "Carl Gresham & Friends" Sundays at 11am; Repeated Mondays at 1pm and again on Tuesdays at 9am -Give the Shoulder a Try - you'll love it... Carl "The Gresh" Gresham -Writer/Broadcaster..take a look at my website - it's well worth a visit www.carlgresham.co.uk
The Shoulder of Mutton – HalifaxAbsolutely overrated- so 70s in style and presentation. the starters appeared to be frozen and came served with slices of bread and butter-bizarre. the food is expensive for pub food- £6 for a starter. The salad came with no dressing and cress and limp lettuce. Will not be going back.
Brown Horse Inn – HalifaxWe chose to have a Take a Way here, with high expectations that it would be good, we were very disappointed, we DO like it hot but both dishes were almost inedible with huge chunks of chilli . One of the starters , a chicken skewer seemed to have been re heated and had lost flavour. At that price it really should be consistently better.
Tum Nuk Thai – HalifaxFour of us ate there 1st November 2008 and must say that the food was very good. Dopiatza and Madras were excellent,as was one of the special dishes (cant recall the name). Also nice starters. Good service from attentive well mannered and friendly waiters. Nice beers on offer too. Place settings basic but very clean, Ladies received single flower at the end. Nice touch. Will certainly visit again.
Sultan Mahal – HalifaxMyself and my husband have recently visited this restaurant and it was absolutely delicious!! We had 2 starters and 2 main dishes and a dessert all for £26.00. You get a large portion and it has a flavour all of its own. Please try it, its fantastic. We are going back there on Thursday night for a meal with our family, there will be 9 of us, i'm spreading the word.
Tum Nuk Thai – Halifax5 dishes for £40, 2-4-1 cocktails and a bottle of house wine for £15.
Get a coffee and a bacon butty for £5.
