The Chequers Inn – LymingtonLooking forward to going back.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonWe have had a lovely lunch with local friends. The food was very good, we have enjoyed the Specials of the Day, beautiful fish pie, excellent Moroccan tuna. All very reasonably priced. Service was prompt, profesionnal and friendly. We will definetely return.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonSuperb meal and friendly staff and atmosphere. Love the fire… Thankyou for making my dad and ourselves very welcomed. Nothing is any trouble to help out with.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonThe Chequers is one of our favourite places to go for Sunday lunch in the area we went on Sunday 17th of November. I had beef and pork and my partner had chicken. The quality of the meat and vegetables were excellent as usual but I did notice that the gravy maybe had some wine flavouring in it which meant that the taste overpowered the food for myself. Red cabbage was one of the vegetables and it would be nice to be offered an alternative vegetable
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonAlways a welcoming staff. Rapid and accurate service. Good food and well kept beer.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonLovely old pub, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff.Food was amazing.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonWe have been here a few times and it doesn't disappoint. we were welcomed as we went in the door. The food was tasty and arrived without too much of a wait. Waitresses were friendly and nothing too much trouble they reserved a fish pie for me as the rest of our party hadn't arrived and I was worried they would sell out !. Prices are reasonable. It would be nice to have one or two more vegetarian dishes. We will return when we are next in the area.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonHad a lovely dinner here on Thursday night, for our group of five. Very reasonable prices, a good range of menu choices, and a friendly 'local pub' feel, in a great old building. A hidden gem.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonA great traditional English Pub, set in a wonderful place for walking. Excellent food and very good hospitality. The staff were so tentative and provided a very good service.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonGreat food, atmosphere and service... We will be back
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonHad a pleasant early evening meal on Saturday. It's a friendly 'locals' pub but they are reasonably tolerant of grockles. Food was good 'home cooked' fare but the menu could do with paring down. Sometimes too much choice isn't a good thing and it comes at a cost of really good quality cooking. Prices were also very steep. I would expect to pay £19 for a medium sized lamb shank at home in London but not down here. Worth a visit though.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonThe best tomato soup I’ve ever had and fabulous nut roast too but the staff and the atmosphere in this pub were the real star. Friendly, welcoming and reasonably priced. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonLoved our visit. 3 completely different diners who had 3 completely different meals all delish, generous servings and all cooked really well. Though sadly just a little full to try the puddings. Next visit.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonIt was August bank holiday Sunday and had managed to secure a table for 6 only 24 hours before. We know this pub quite well but had only eaten there occasionally. The pub was clearly very busy indeed, but they have 3 clearly different areas, and somehow the whole 'show' was managed with friendliness, efficiency, speed and a very tasty Sunday roast - the menu covered all tastes - moules went down very well, too. Can thoroughly recommend the Caramel Apple Crumble Pie - with custard!! A very pleasant experience all round. Many thanks to everyone
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonI don't often write reviews but I'm happy to leave a review for The Chequers. I was there with a group of 6 (plus dog) on a dreary summer Saturday last month. We booked ahead - which wasn't necessary on this occasion because of the late afternoon slot and uninviting weather - and received a warm welcome from the staff. We didn't have to wait long for our order and the food turned out to be terrific. My rack of lamb was excellent. Portions were generous but not overindulgent. While the prices might be slightly above average, the food is considerably better than the usual pub fare. I'd happily recommend for a superior gastropub experience.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonThe pub was recommended to us and we were not disappointed great food staff very friendly we will definitely be back again.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonGreat service, lovely location and fabulous food. Staff were very friendly and flexible. We’d booked table inside but had drinks before and after food in the lovely garden. Good menu choices for us, and food was tasty. Thank you, we will be back again.
